What is not to love about Milo's? NOTHING! The bartenders are sooo amazing and always hook you up. This is the best place to play pool in Dallas. 4 tables plenty of room and I they managed to give this place a huge facelift inside and outside in the patio. I don't care what anyone says this is the best sports bar in Dallas. The food is bomb. Burger is great, club is great. Daily specials for lunch are fantastic and great priced. This dive bar can get very rowdy on game days at SMU or other events on TV. Tons of TV's everywhere. Two separate areas for darts. 5 Dart Boards total. I am 23 years old and presented my valid Connecticut driver's license at the door. Unfortunately, the staff refused to accept it, insisted it was fake, and denied me entry because they believed it wasn't real. I asked for it to be checked more carefully and the staff was rude, belittling and disrespectful. They valued their egos over accuracy as they could not provide me an explanation as to why they thought it was fake. This is the first time that someone has not been able to read my ID correctly after being 21+ as I'm almost 24... Please educate your bouncers. I hope this can be a training opportunity so your staff are better prepared to recognize out-of-state IDs. One of my first experiences here, but over all the servers have been nasty. I understand it's a snow day and the main clientele are college students but employees should still be costumer service oriented. On November 22nd around 11 PM, we were literally trying to leave when one of the bouncers smacked the drink out of my boyfriend's hand instead of just telling him to toss it. That alone was insane but it gets worse. When he reacted out of shock, the bouncer then slapped my boyfriend's hat off his head, and in the process, the bouncer's own hat fell on the ground. And what does he do? He looks at my boyfriend and tells him to "pick it up, b**."** I'm sorry... what? How does a paying customer end up being told to pick up a bouncer's hat after being disrespected in the first place? They escalated everything, got aggressive for absolutely no reason, and acted like they were about to start fighting my boyfriend, egging him on. It was unsafe, unprofessional, and completely embarrassing for the establishment. If management thinks this behavior is acceptable, that says all you need to know about this place. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. read more

I loved Milos before & love it even more with the recent renovations! They did an amazing job - kept the original charm and dive bar feel, while adjusting the layout and some decor details to have a cleaner, more updated feel. They extended the bar, added new half-circle booths, lounge seating throughout, and a large booth bench in the back by the pool tables. Much of the same, friendly staff still works there. Their drink specials are some of the best in town, and their food is better than ever. I got their fried chicken cobb salad - 10/10, I know I'm going to crave it. The new spinach/artichoke dip was also delicious (very similar to Chelsea Corner's). We got their margarita pitcher ($32 on happy hour) and it came out to about 6 margaritas in the pitcher. They also have 1/2 off wine on Thursdays, so a glass of Seaglass sauv blanc was only $4! Overall, Milos is even more of a go-to spot for me now. It can get crowded at night with SMU students, but there is still a decent mix of long-time patrons. (Tip: During school winter and summer breaks, it's a more chill vibe with less students). read more

Went the other day with my husband. The place is gloomy dusty and dingy feeling. The door guy seemed drunk himself, checking IDs. Ordered a drink and went to the booths to watch the game and enjoy conversation. The booths were worn and old. We finished up one drink and got another. We were half way finished and the drunk door guy was going around trying to take drinks from people. He stumbled over to us and said drink up or I'm taking them, very rude and aggressive. My husband asked what the problem was it's not even closing time, about 1:30. He calmed down and said the bartender made me. So we told him the bartender can come get the drinks she just poured us or she should have let us know before pouring we are going to have to down the drinks asap. Bartenders were rude nasty people. Holy Glow Up Milo's! Did you go through a divorce and get all the money and get all the things done because damn girl you look GOOOOOOD, but you're still the same bad ass wholesome b*tch. The food is better, the smell is WAY better, the bar (OH THE BAR!), the back area, the pool table area is somehow greater, even the ceiling is better!!! And please spend some time looking at the pictures on the walls, they managed to keep the fun of Milo's and add some pop culture necessities (watch out for that next step, it's a doozy). For a timely staple in Dallas that needed a much needed facelift, I know we were all worried that this was going to be changed too much with the new owners but that is NOT what happened here, they put so much life back into it to keep it alive for more generations to enjoy what generations before have loved about it without losing the charm. I've passed this place so many times without even noticing it. It's a small unassuming front with a tiny patio. But after walking in you notice how big it actually is. There are lots of diversions such as bar games and TVs to keep you drinking there long with your mates. The drinks were cheap and strong, but don't expect anything too fancy. The food though was a bit disappointing. Just cheap greasy food to soak up the alcohol. I would suggest dinner across the street and drinks here to finish up the night. read more
