Two hours into Service at 7 PM they're out of bread pudding, which is a highlight! There is a table of about eight that had tank tops and shorts for attire . the orange roughy entrée was delicious, shrimp papperdelle had no sauce or flavor whatsoever. It was tasteless, Caesar salad was perfect. We asked for regular butter instead of honey butter for the bread and they said they did not have any butter at all .We had to get up and go to the bar. to ask for salt and pepper for our entrées. We need grated Parmesan to put something on the shrimp dish for flavor. The ambience was fabulous. The portions were very small, but at least when I pay that kind of money for a dining experience, we were not rushed. I was disappointed, but will try them again to see if there has been any improvement. read more

Was recommended this place from someone we met. After looking at the yelp pictures we were excited to go. Honestly it was underwhelming. Wife had Chilean sea bass and it was extremely dry. I ordered the 14oz ribeye. I would not return for either dish. The old fashioned's have entire wagon wheels of oranges in them. If you drink these you know. We wanted this to be good but will not return for this quality for this price tag. If you're going to charge you must deliver. We will stick with butchers cellar or 135 prime. These reviews do not do this place justice. The food is great here. We went with a party of 6, everyone got something different, and everyone loved it and thought the food was great! The atmosphere inside is really cool too. They have all brick walls, low lights, and wooden ceilings. It's really nice. The service was great as well. There was literally, not a single table open. Yet, our server was always checking on us and making sure everything came out right. It looked as though some of the other servers were in training, but really good overall! read more

To start off; while an attractive venue the noise level was far too high for an establishment of this magnitude. Also everyone seemed to be dressed down. I felt overdressed in a sport coat sans tie. Menu was expensive for the offerings which were in no way exceptional or even above average. Out of bread to serve with a mediocre side salad. Consider myself somewhat of a foodie and was DISAPPOINTED. The overall ambience seemed to fit the quality of the available (expensive) dishes. Service; However was very good. The level of disorganization and lack of communication from both management and staff was unacceptable. Considering the rating on Yelp, I wasn't sure what to expect. But my whole party enjoyed our meals. My sister and I had the Beef Wellington, which was delicious. Our friend enjoyed her steak. The food was very bland and overpriced. Things were undersalted and low quality. The Wellington is not Wellington; it is overcooked strips of beef on top of a burnt piece of puff pastry. The mashed potatoes have approximately 1 gram of cream and half their weight in garlic; one could form a throwable snowball of them if you wanted to with how thick they were. The butter for the bread was way too sweet and tasted more of icing. The salt we had to ask for was McCormick plastic grinders. The sirloin was okay. The interior decorating was good. Lovely venue, magical outdoor dining (though we ate inside.) Only three tables with customers. Overall, the food was incredibly bland and the prices are WAY out of line for the meals we received. Whoever prepared the entrees last night should be commended; whoever created the accompanying sides should not be allowed in the kitchen. The server was prompt, though we do prefer having our courses delivered a respectable distance from each other rather than almost on top of each other. The calamari was delicious. The accompanying sauce was bland and disappointing. Our Caesar salads resembled a processed pile of leftover greens dumped on a plate. The flavor was acceptable but the presentation made it almost inedible. My husband's Beef Wellington was cooked to perfection and my sea bass was exceptional, though what was that strange-tasting "patty" underneath that was supposed to be rice but wasn't? Maybe quinoa? We hope to return, though not until we see a solid trend of at least 3-4 stars. read more

We had a fantastic private event for a group of 50 to celebrate my mom's 90th birthday. Food buffet was well presented and all guests enjoyed the food options. My wife and I wanted a romantic meal with soft music... This is so much better than what we imagined!!! My wife had the lamb shank and I had the lamb chops... Both were beyond words delicious! The lamb was cooked to perfection and the seasoning was spot on! This may be the best lamb that either of us have ever had... and we both love lamb. Desert was silk French truffle mousse cake... This place is a lovely romantic setting for a nice dinner. We sat at the bar as we often do. I ordered a very well-made Cosmopolitan and my husband ordered an Old Fashioned. Our bartender was extremely attentive. My husband ordered the pork shank which was accompanied with mixed vegetables and creamy mashed potatoes. I ordered the grilled Portabella mushroom, which was topped with red sauce and cheese, also very good. I finished my meal with a very well-made espresso martini for dessert. Great dinner! Our party of 6 had a great waiter and he made awesome dinner recommendations. Three of us had the chicken piccata, the others had halibut, lamb chops, and the pesto linguine. Great dinner in Waco , Texas @1424bistro . We were looking for a nice place for dinner while visiting Waco. We are from Houston and we are very spoiled on the huge variety of places to eat we have here. However, we decided to give 1424 Bistro a try... I ordered the scallops with orange vermouth butter sauce and a Spectacular Chocolate creme brûlée! My friend ordered the Salmon which I did not try but she said it was delicious! I did try The French Truffle Mousse cake and it was awesome! Our waiter Destiny was very nice as well. I also had a wonderful French 75 cocktail ! The only thing I would suggest is to offer more sides to accompany the entrees. They are very limited. Prices are on the high side. read more

Neighbors took us here and we found the food very good, the service attentive. I had the chicken piccata which was done perfectly. I usually take part of my meal home; not here. On a positive note, the service was friendly and professional. Although the fish entree was good, the salad was wilted and drowning in Caesar dressing. Food was over-priced compared to other nice restaurants in the general area, and we were very surprised that they would charge extra for olive oil instead of butter and assess a $4 up charge to switch from rice to quinoa. The atmosphere was very cute, but the food was not good and our server was not good. Chicken piccata was dry and tasteless, some parts were so hard you couldn't chew it. Overall the size of the meal was small. Potatoes were oily. Steak was dry, thin and fatty. All our orders were not hot and one member in our party had to wait a long time for his meal. My order was delivered and it was incorrect and our server blamed the kitchen, when she refilled waters she would not check everyone's glass, missing someone's glass every time. Appetizer plates were not cleared even when our meal was delivered. She was slightly rude when we were not quite ready to order and forgot to bring a refill drink that was ordered several times. We were a party of 5 & everyone loved this restaurant! When you walk in you feel like you're in southern Europe. The decor & lighting has an upscale yet festive Mediterranean warmth about it. We all had different apps & main courses & everyone loved their food. I know this firsthand as I grilled everyone at our table about their dishes :) The head chef (ARIS) who I believe is the owner makes it all happen the right way, every way. So the setting was tranquil. Even though the restaurant patio can be right by the road, we didn't have any issues with traffic noise! I ordered the curry shrimp and oh my it was savory! There was just enough kick as well. The shrimp were hearty. I couldn't eat it all so i had to save it! Leftovers were just as amazing. I also ordered the French 75.
