DuPuis Oil installed my boiler 3 years ago. They sent a technician to clean it upon my request. DuPuis send a different technician who said the previous technician did not clean the boiler correctly and he showed me why he said that. He also documented it. DuPuis never billed me for the service on August 12th. On October 27th my boiler didn't start. I called DuPuis and the service manager told me that they won't support my boiler anymore unless I buy their oil. I told them I would find someone else. 3 days later, which was 80 days from the corrective service they did on August 12th, I get a bill. My first bill for this service with net 20 terms. On November 5th they send me a statement that included two months of a late fee, for a bill I didn't even have during that time. The late charges are fraudulent. They did shoddy work on my boiler and after it polluted my house and almost killed me, they want me to pay for them to re-clean and properly adjust my boiler because I wouldn't let them extort me into buying their overpriced oil. On August 12th I would have paid the bill had they presented me an invoice as per usual, but assumed they didn't because their poor work necessitated the August 12 service call. If they were going to bill me with terms of Net 20 for the work they did on August 12th, they should have billed me on August 12th, not 80 days afterwords because I refused to be extorted. For them to charge me late fees for two months I wasn't billed is criminal. They should be audited to see what other unethical business practices they employ.

That "guy" turned out to be Josue, who I later found out doesn't even work for Benny's Appliance Repair -- he works for himself. I only discovered this after I emailed Benny to ask what the heck happened. Josue shows up, spends 20 minutes doing something vague, says he "fixed a switch," and charges me $335. He didn't ask me to shut off the electricity (how do you safely fix a switch without doing that?), refused to explain what exactly he did, gave me no receipt, and didn't leave any write-up. Then he had the nerve to ask me to pay him directly through his personal Venmo account. The whole thing felt incredibly shady. When I followed up with Benny, he basically said there was nothing he could do because Josue is independent and not actually part of his company -- so why refer him in the first place? This felt like a blatant cash grab, not professional service. Honestly, the business might as well be called "Quick and Easy CASH." Josue did minimal, unverified work, charged a ridiculous amount, and left me with no paperwork and no accountability. I do not recommend Benny's Appliance Repair or anyone they refer you to. Be careful -- this was a convenience scam, not a repair service.

The technician came to assess it while I was at work, which was understood. Afterwards I got an email with a bill for $250, which is the cost for them to come out and it included "an hour of labor". I didn't get a call from anyone explaining what was found during the appointment or any written report detailing what was found. I had to call to get information. The women on the phone briefly read off some notes stating that the generator was old and one of the parts to repair it was no longer available. I was then offered information on purchasing a new generator. I asked that she double check if the part to fix my current one was available. They called me a few days later and said that the part was not available and offered again to help me purchase a new generator. I then asked them to please provide me with a written detailed assessment of my generator. She said sure and she would get that to me. I have still not received what I asked for. Last week someone called me about the outstanding invoice. I explained that I have no problem paying the $250 once they give me the written detailed assessment from the service appointment in May. The guy said, "oh yeah I see a note requesting that in the system, I'll get that to you". As of today, still nothing. I don't think I am asking for anything out of the ordinary and it's the least they could do for $250. They also do not provide you with anyway to request this in writing, there is no email address for the company.
