They offer an impressive menu, and we honestly had a hard time choosing! We ended up with the Tortellacci Ripieni Brasato Di Manzo Al Tartufo Nero--braised short rib wrapped in fresh egg pasta with a creamy Alfredo-style sauce. The pasta is made fresh daily, and my BF could not stop raving after every bite that it was some of the most delicious pasta he's ever had. It really was mouthwatering. We also ordered the chicken Caesar salad and did not expect the portion to be so large! The chicken had a nice char and was a little dry, but overall, paired with the Caesar dressing, the flavors blended really well. The restaurant looks out toward the lake and greenery, with patio seating that would be beautiful during cooler weather. There's also a floating stage nearby with live music on Saturdays, which you can enjoy from the restaurant. Inside, there's a small bar with seating, and the overall atmosphere feels romantic and upscale. We noticed quite a few couples enjoying dinner. We visited in early August, which is definitely the off-season at Lake Las Vegas. MonteLago Village was pretty quiet, and when we arrived around 5:30 p.m., there were only two other couples in the restaurant. Over the course of our dinner, though, almost every table inside filled up. I can only imagine how busy it gets during peak season, so I would recommend reservations in advance. Even during the summer, it may be worth checking ahead if you want an indoor table during prime dinner hours. Wonderful service, fresh pasta, generous portions and a beautiful setting. The available parking is downhill from the restaurants and shops, which means after you've parked, you're rewarded with an uphill hike. From September through May that's merely annoying. At 115 degrees... It's punishment. In fact, I think I've figured out why this place is so empty. When I arrived, I honestly thought I had stumbled into an abandoned ghost town. I was the only person walking anywhere in the entire village. I finally made it to Luna Rossa, desperately needing water. Thankfully, my server Julia was quick on the draw. She had water in front of me almost immediately, and I probably drank half the glass without taking a breath. I ordered the Caesar Salad followed by the Veal Piccata. The Caesar started with a minor disappointment. The croutons tasted like Pepperidge Farm's best, but thankfully the lettuce was crisp, fresh, and the dressing was flavorful enough to pull the salad back into respectable territory. The Veal Piccata looked a little murky when it arrived, but looks can be deceiving. The sauce had excellent flavor, the veal was tender, and overall it was a very enjoyable entrée. I seriously considered ordering a cocktail. Then I remembered I still had to survive the hike back to my car in triple-digit heat. Hydration won. Besides, the female bartender looked very...very...very...miserable. Maybe it was the heat. Maybe it was the ghost town. Maybe that's just her personality. We then had live music to enjoy Jason was a great bartender. Made sure we were good as we sat at the bar for the whole time we were there. The seats were so comfy that the few hours didn't feel bad on my back or bottom. We also met Kenny who managed the wine bar and had a chat with him. But burgers, wings, fries, this place offers a number of things that could be elevated by keeping a few bottles of BBQ in the fridge. Just give me the option, you don't even need to list it on the menu. I used to love the beef stroganoff that they had for a while, but I guess it must not have been popular because they got rid of it. It seems that in it's place they started offering a Shepards pie. I was excited about this meal until it arrived and the potatoes were filled with cheese. A Shepards pie does not traditionally have any cheese. So it is probably a good idea for the menu to mention that it is in there. In any case, I tried to order it sans the cheese but I guess it is pre mixed into the mash or something. They cant make it with no cheese. :( Lastly, and most depressingly, they took the shrimp appetizer off of the happy hour menu! This was a real kick-in-the-dick for me. I have probably came to BLVD Grille at least 10 times in the last year specifically because the happy hour $5 shrimp appetizer was so outstanding. I am genuinely depressed that they took it off the happy hour menu. I haven't tried the steaks yet, I want to, but most days, I'm just looking for some shrimp, a side of fries and a drink. Not a big deal, just noticeable. If I had to guess, they use a pre-sweetened matcha powder. They don't advertise having pure or ceremonial matcha, so I'm not too pressed. Just sharing my experience. Service was quick and I got my drink within just a few minutes. There's plenty of indoor seating plus a spacious, dog-friendly patio. The vibe is very social and family-friendly, with lots of conversation, families, and groups. We met several times over a 7 month period to prepare our wine. We'd make a party out of it each time. We each brought a bottle of wine and an appetizer to share. They have an area set up with tables for us to place it all. They provided us with wine glasses and pitchers of water. The staff is so knowledgeable about wine production and they did a great job explaining the process to us on each visit. On this particular visit, our wine was complete, so we were all part of the assembly line that got to bottle it up. We each took a case of wine home. The Laundry Room is dead, long live the Laundry Room. The remodel that took place during Jan to May 2026 saw a wide amount of change from Corner Management, the mother company of LR. They got rid of the absolute corner stone of the lead bartender, Anthony, and redecorated the place to look more like the sister bar, Doberman Drawing Room (5 Stars). The remodel was absolutely needed, as the regulars and Dean's List could point out, the place was kind of falling apart. From water warped bar top, uncomfortable chairs, and chipped paint/worned carpet, you would think this place WAS left over from the Prohibition era. What sets this establishment apart from any of the pretend speakeasy on the strip is the atmosphere. At any given time, you could cram 16 people there at a time, even with the reduced drinking time cut from 2 hours to 90 minutes, this place could only cycle thru 50 to 60 people from the reduced nightly opening of 4 hours from 6 hours previously. This make LR special, not some faux speakeasy in Cosmo or Resort World that could jam in 80 people per hour with room to spare. Gone is the rugged identity of the old laundry room for El Cortez, this is spiced up, every square inch of the wall is covered with some art piece, very much different from the Depression era decor. Some art selection are just straight up chaos from the management, the main cherub piece behind the bar is just insanity. The new master of house, Davey, showed skills with his new 14 drink menu, but fell short of what made LR great in the past 14 years. Now, the man had just two months to create his drink list and per himself, had to start from the scratch from when he took over.. So, with that said, let's focus on the drinks. Hemingway Dalguiri, Dust + Ether, and High Noon Static - all great in taste, presentation, and talent, abet we can see the hesitation when making his own drinks, thus slowing down service by quite a bit. My party saw him struggle making 6 drinks at once, 4 of them the same drinks. Recommendation from someone else, maybe record the drink making process and try to eliminate non productive habits and motions via video viewing. Since Davey is a visionary, looking in the past is a deal breaker for him. If you are trying to finish up a previous menu for the Dean's List, the joke is on you, that is a no. Where the hostess (the only person that survived the purge from the remodel) explained to him that exception needs to happen to keep the Dean's List going, the answer was a no since no one at management told him about this. When asked about what will the new requirements will be for the future, it's simple, finish the menu before it's replaced with no chance of catching up. Once a menu is done, it's done. I guess it's easier to keep the drinks under control with less ingrediencies needed behind the bar, but wait a minute... drink number 15, Research and Development, that should give Davey some leeway to non menu drinks right? Turns out, not so much. Sidecar- cognac, orange liqueur, lemon juice. Simple right? He leaves the room to get something from Commonwealth... didn't management installed a new fridge to hold the larger ice cubes, where previous bar keep have to venture out all the time? Turns out, there was no Cognac or any Brandy in the Laundry Room. I can see how things are shaped, strict bottle control is for the benefit of the bar, not for the customer. There is now Vodka, foam, and milk wash but lost Cognac or Brandy, but besides the freedom of choices were also compounded with complete lack of rules. For the last 14 years, the hostess and bar staff on rotation were friendly yet firm about house rules. First given upon entering the secret or window doors, then by the bartender after an aperitif is given (now eliminated). No photo, religion, politic, standing at the bar, name dropping, brawling, telephone calls, PDA, and smoking, plus don't be creepy, be patient, and know your limit. Most of these were not enforced the first 2 times my party of regulars have visited since the remodel. The cardinal sin of allowing one single 4 top to seat 2 people at a time is just wild. But hey, no rules are listed on the new simple menu and none giving at the door or at the seats. So what is this place now? 20 to 23 dollars for a drink plus more for popcorn. All for the experience of being in a noise warfare between Commonwealth and La Mona Rosa's speaker systems, with LR's own music turned up high, and the piano only used one night of the week. I would recommend Doberman Drawing Room as of now for better drinks options, less noise, and vibe. The new menu to replace Fear and Laundry will come out this Fall, will be bring some regulars with me to check on LR again and hopefully give more than 2 stars on the next review.
