I tried practicing my Thai here, but it didn't go anywhere. The entire staff appeared to be Caucasian, and the one waitress who said she was Thai still replied to me in English every time I spoke Thai. So much for immersion. The pad krapow isn't really Thai style. It leans heavily Chinese, and if you want it closer to the real thing, the upcharges start stacking. Ground pork swapped for sliced chicken? +$2. Add a fried egg? +$3. You can see the pattern. The green curry was fine. Not bad, not memorable. Other places do it better, though I'll give them credit for the gold bowl -- nice presentation. The cheese sticks come in egg‑roll wrappers, which is exactly what it sounds like: mozzarella stick meets egg roll. I tried to talk my kid out of ordering it, but they wanted something "not Thai." We stopped in for an early dinner. The crispy spring rolls were very good, and overall the food was good. However, both the soup and our entrée were much saltier than we prefer. The soup was especially heavy on the fish sauce, and while our entrée didn't contain fish sauce, it was also quite salty. Up until that point, I would have been open to returning and trying other menu items. Unfortunately, a trip to the restroom changed my mind. There was a large cockroach lying on its back on the restroom floor, and when I went to wash my hands, I noticed another roach under the sink area. They appeared to be dead, but that raised its own questions. If they had been there long enough to die, how often is the restroom being checked and cleaned? I realize bugs can happen anywhere, but seeing multiple roaches in the restroom was enough to make me uncomfortable. Because of that, we won't be returning. read more

Charm Thai is a solid spot with a great ambiance and a welcoming vibe. The service was attentive and friendly, which made the overall experience really enjoyable. The food was good, but not the most memorable Thai I've had. The flavors were there, just missing a bit of depth that would have made the dishes stand out. The sampler, in particular, felt a little underwhelming. Our fried spring rolls were frozen still, definitely a skip as nothing was that worthwhile! The Khao Soi had good flavor, but the crunchy noodles on top weren't actually crunchy and ended up being hard to eat. The Tom Yum leaned heavily on tomato flavor--still a good soup, just not what I typically expect, as the tomato really took the forefront. I got a traditional Thai dish, Kai Soi which is hard to find and was done so well! Rich curry and plentiful noodles and garnish. The portion could feed two easily. Also ordered mango sticky rice for dessert which had the freshest most delicious mango slices I have consumed in a long time. But the star of the show was the Thai brisket fried rice topped with BBQ ribs... I dined at this restaurant on Friday evening, August 8th (location: 4223 Research Forest Dr Ste 100, The Woodlands, TX). Later that night, I became extremely ill. After several days of worsening symptoms, I ended up in the hospital, where testing confirmed I had contracted an E. coli infection. Another member of my dining group experienced the same illness following our visit. We both shared their ribs as an appetizer, so we're thinking it wasn't cooked properly.. I've reached out to the restaurant twice to share this information, but I have not received any response. I'm very disappointed that, as a customer, they've shown no concern for my well-being or the seriousness of this matter. I've reported the incident to the appropriate health authorities so it can be properly investigated. I strongly urge management to take immediate action to ensure food safety and protect future customers. I'm very disappointed at the lack of hospitality and care following my visit. read more

Date night dinner! My husband was tasked with making reservations and Thai was our request. After lots of research he found Charm. Let me just say...it did not disappoint. We ordered the special blue dumplings only served on the weekend and they were so delicious. Definitely don't miss the roti and curry! Yum! I also ordered my usual when I eat Thai - Khoi sao gai. I usually order from the Spring location and I assumed the Woodlands location would be the same. I was mistaken. Ordered to go for lunch via DoorDash. Large Tom Kha ($15.99) First off, the soup I got was a small size (disclaimer: DoorDash customer service gave me a partial refund after I notified them). Flavors were acceptable but not nearly as good as the Spring location. For protein, I got tofu and the tofu came in boiled form, not fried. Small Tom Yum ($8.99) This was a very loose tomato soup with very bland flavors. Not good. Pad Thai ($21.59) Bland. Panang Curry ($21.59) Curry saved the day. Tasty and what I'd expect in a Thai curry. First off, the prices are much higher than that of the Spring Location's DoorDash prices. Secondly, the flavors are not the same. I don't know if it was purposely done by the restaurant to cater to the regional clientele but drastically different, and for the worse, than their first location in Spring. I'll stick to the Spring location where the prices are lower and the flavors are much better. read more

I have had more than what is pictured but everything I've had is delicious. The service here is outstanding every single time. There have been times when they were short staffed and had one chef in the kitchen. Believe me the wait was worth it and the kindness shown and constant compassion for us waiting was so sweet. I would wait anytime for that kind of service. I love the decor as well, it's so nice and upscale. Why 5 stars? Because this was mostly a really enjoyable experience. --- --- --- We really liked so much of what we tried that I still wanted to give 5-stars here, despite a couple of important issues. First off, the decor in here was very sleek. I felt like I was in Houston, not The Woodlands. The A/C was having some issues, but whose A/C in Texas hasn't had a problem in the summer? We started off with two appetizers: Thai Roti and Curry and the Chor-Muang. Both were 10-star worthy, perfect apps. I could have ordered like three rounds of these and been happy. For entrees, we went with Lobster Pad Thai, which was a special from the Father's Day Weekend Menu, and the Tex-Thai BBQ Fried Rice. The Pad Thai was uniquely and beautifully plated in a way that all the noodles were inside of an egg, with the lobster meat sprawled out on top. The bad news: The lobster was among the worst I've ever had. It was cold, hard and completely flavorless. We were really surprised at such a big miss. The good news: Everything else on the plate was awesome. I could have eaten those noodles for weeks. The Tex-Thai BBQ Fried Rice was very similar. The rice itself with the chunks of brisket were solid. The BBQ ribs on top were pretty disappointing. Not as bad as the lobster, but just kind of surprisingly subpar. For dessert, we ordered the mango sticky rice and it hit the spot perfectly. Another dish I could eat every day and never get tired of it. I also ordered a Thai Tea and it was right on the money. I'd happily eat here again. The menu is massive and they do so many things well. I just think they need to dramatically tweak the lobster if they are going to serve lobster pad thai again or add it to the regular menu. read more

Cute place but it's honestly quite loud. Food was fine but I've eaten plenty of Thai in my time. Never has anyone asked "how spicy?" for a sweet and savory garlic chicken dish. I went along with it and said medium. Don't make that mistake. It was way too hot and I love spicy food. Ridiculous. What's more, the service was not helpful. I was sitting there with a meal I would rather not finish and placed my credit card at the side of the table. I'was literally in the spotlight position in the center of the dining room facing the door and I was left sitting. I sat there so long I was able to choke down the rest of the meal like a kid not allowed to leave the table. I placed my fork and knife in a cross on my bowl. I waited and waited while others were served or checked out. When you are dining alone and stopping in for a quick bite. Don't bother. Much better service next door.
