It was my first time here, I was treated pretty rudely I'd say. I asked to get a full face wax done, they totally ruined my eyebrows, didn't even give me a mirror to check if the shape was right, which when asked to check were like no. Put on too much wax which cause pain and probably is what turned my skin red. They didn't put any lotion afterwards or try to get the excess (honestly a lot of it) wax off and just told me to rinse it off. They then asked for me to pay in cash, which was never advertised as a "we prefer cash" store. The lady was quite rude, I specifically told her I can't tolerate a lot of pain, and she ignored my humble request of going slow. They took me 15 mins late and rushed the appointment. $45 is pretty steep for the service provided. Not happy :( read more

Mimi's nails is the place to go for a quick, inexpensive manicure and pedicure ($25 cash). This is a bit of "you get what you pay for", but the service is good. I don't have any complaints. My manicure was quick and turned out well. Pedicure chairs have massage function, but are a bit aged. The pedicure tubs are lined with plastic Saran Wrap. I believe this is an attempt for cleanliness, but that depends if the foot soak tubs are pipe less or not. The dryers at the dry station did not feel like they were working, no UV light, but my nails and toes dried and did not smudge when I left the salon. For a quick and inexpensive manicure or pedicure Mimi's is a good option. read more

Pros: They have a good amount of colors to choose from. The price is definitely right. Cons: you wait for a while if you don't make an appointment and then the staff rush you. The colors on the gel nail samples never seem accurate once they paint them on your nail. And lastly, after having 1 or 2 nails done and telling them you want to change the color, they always give a hard no. Overall, I don't mind this place, but it's never my first choice. read more

I'm new to the area. I'm from North jersey and I was very nervous to try a new place to get my nails done because I'm very picky about how they look. I called to see if they accepted walk ins and they told me to come in, in 20 mins. Once I got there I was greeted nicely and told to sit. It took a minute before someone took me in so it was very quick and organized. Jin took care of me and she was very sweet and gentle. She took her time and I saw she was putting in a lot of effort to see if I would like it. She offered to get me a pillow to make me comfortable. After getting my manicure she offered to give me a massage. Over all best place I've been too.... EVER. highly recommend and I will be coming I went back to this nail salon and it was completely different experience. The lady rushed and cut me. I use to come here all the time for the past 6 months. I even brought my friends out here a couple of times. I never asked for anything special, just a gel manicure (kept it simple with 1 color, no gems). If your looking for something basic and cheap this is the place. I came here right before the holidays to get a gel manicure and wax eyebrows. The nail technician was not paying attention and messed up a lot. She forgot to add another coat of paint so two of my nails looked off. When she waxed my eyebrows she left a little bit of wax underneath my eyebrows/above my eyes. I haven't gotten my eyebrows done in years so I just thought my eyebrows were being sensitive. NOPE! When I got home and looked in the mirror I saw wax left behind and it ended up burning my skin off! Normally I don't care if the nail technicians are talking among themselves. But if it distracts you from the job then stop and pay attention. I came in this past weekend for a gel manicure and right before the technician started I showed her my nails and said "Hey last time I came in here the person who did my nails didn't finish. Could you just make sure that I have an even coat please?" The lady in charge came over, looked, talked to the technician in a different language and asked me to move to her station. When I sat at her desk she asked if I remembered who did my nails. I said it was Tina. Tina just happen to be sitting near us. The lady looked over to Tina, talked to her in a different language, I assumed updated her that she forgot to add the second coat, and continued doing my nails. I also informed her that when she did my eyebrows that she left wax and it ended up burning my skin. NOT ONCE did I receive an apology from anybody. I take my 5 star from this place I have come here for over 1 yr now and I believe the front lady is very ignorant and rude she always has a nasty attitude and majority of the time she is on her phone... I have also had problems when I show them in my phone what I want they still insist for me to pick out something different like go look for a color... another problem I had was for my daughter bday I brought her here to get her nails done just bc it's very close to my house I didn't care about the money it was more about the fact of them doing a design and 2 different colors.I will not say I'm a weekly customer and it's mostly bc of their lack of customer satisfaction and lady Attitude... I've been to Mimi's before and wasn't thrilled with my experience (refill on acrylic). I've hesitated coming back for some time now. However, I've struggled to find a good local spot. Today I decided to give it another try and boy am I happy I did. I got there around 10:15 and the place was packed but I was taken to a pedicure chair immediately. I sat and soaked for a bit when Joy came over and greeted me with a heated neck pillow (that was amazing). She gave me a 30 minute pedi that ended with hot stones. Hot stones at a nail salon instantly get me. If I could have someone come and rub my feet with hot stones everyday, I would. Following my lovely pedicure, I got a gel manicure. It was pretty quick which I love. They offer a free paraffin dip with any gel manicure (heaaaaaaven). $35 cash for a spa pedicure and gel manicure? What else is better! Overall my latest experience at Mimi's was great. I'm giving it four stars at this time because I'm waiting to see how well my mani holds up! read more

I went to Mimi's last week after my daughter said she likes it there. I usually go to K&J nails but wanting to spend time with my daughter I went here. After 2 days the gel polish on 2 of my nails are peeling. This is not OK. The employees are very nice and the place is clean and it's amazing that they massage you while your nails are drying but to pay $32 not including tip for a gel refill and eyebrow wax and they start peeling is not good. I doubt I'd go back. I should've really thought twice about it anyway considering my daughter was going to have her nail polish fixed for the same thing. read more

I decided to try a new place based on a friends recommendation; I am so happy I listened to her and went. When I walked in they had 7 people working on a Tuesday at 3pm with 1 person available so I didn't have to wait. I decided on a pedicure and a gel manicure. My manicurists name was Jason and let me just say that if everything else had sucked the pedicure alone would make me give 5 stars. But it didn't. The pedicure was awesome. I wasn't rushed in any way and each leg was massaged for a good 5-7 minutes. My polish was flawlessly applied and away I went for my gel manicure. I picked OPI Bubble Bath which is a very light color that if not applied correctly is streaky. He took his time and it also came out perfect. Mimi's nails is less expensive than many of the other places in the area and in my opinion they are better. This just very well may be my new nail place. I will definitely be back! read more

The girl Jin who did my mani pedi was amazing. Always making sure you're comfortable and she didn't shy away from that massage. I'm extremely picky when I go to the nail salon but I truly have nothing negative to say. Clean salon, my experience with Jin was wonderful, they use hot rocks as part of their pedicure service. I've been going to Mimi's for manicures and pedicures for a good few years. There have been times where I stray away and try other nail salons, but I always end up back at Mimi's. I usually get acrylic with gel polish and it lasts just about 3 weeks. The pedicures are great- they all come with a hot stone massage which feels wonderful. I explained that I wanted round and after many times of asking her to round them out more, they were still more square. The actual colors never seem to match the example, which is frustrating. I've gotten acrylics done before here and they seemed to be the best bet for me because they wouldn't mess up the shape as much. One of my favourite places for pedis since they offer massages & hot rocks for fairly cheap. Depends on who you get, but my nails have come out great sometimes, not so great other times. I usually get gel manis. The young guy working does an amazing job with my manis but others seem to make the gel too bubbly. Also, I try to go during slow times since I've waited almost an hour before with aluminum foil on my gel polish, so that rubbed me the wrong way a bit, but I still go and I avoid if busy. read more

I wish I could say its' great and the same experience every time I go, but this is just not the case. Its honestly a hit or miss with whichever nail tech you get. Most times, I am satisfied with my nails, however, there has been many times where I was rushed, been cut, and have not gotten what I asked for. Got my nails done here twice. The first time was ok so I thought I'd give them a second chance before I left a crappy review. I got a full set of acrylic nails and pedi the first time. My pedi was good but my full set was horrible. The lady who did my nails had filed down so much near my cuticle that it looked like I needed a refill and they were too bubbly and unnatural looking. Second time I got my nails done, they did the same thing. I went in on a Friday and the woman started on my nails, then left me sitting on the chair while she worked on someone else's nails and continued to help others and came back to me after 45 mins. The business name has changed, it's now called MiMi's Nails and Spa. The phone number is the same. I was not a customer before the name change so I'm not certain if it changed ownership as well. I can confidently say that the new owners are professional and courteous, while maintaining a very relaxed atmosphere. Their prices are very reasonable and they have a return customer point system to redeem for free Mani/Pedi or spa treatments. I would add another star on the review if they would add more colors to the polish wall, it was the only gripe that I had. read more

Awful pedicure from a woman who did not speak any English and could not understand anything. She cut my toe in two places, was supper slow, and changed the price on me at the end.
