I've now tried at least 7 different flavors. Every single one lacks...well...flavor. They're all WAY too sweet too.

Martine's apparently owns the block in Scarsdale, with a bakery on the other end of the lot and this pup as of last year or so maybe two... time has lost me and I have lost time. But who is Martine? Who is Mimi? How is the Gelattttt? I and my team of reports answer this and more for you below. Martine is the counter to the manly man name of Martin. It is of French and Latin descent as well as of French and Latin decency. It originates, of course as a dedication to Mars. Extraterrestrial in a sense. Outside of this, my team of young buck analysts couldn't cook me up anything else. Zippo. Absolutely no information about Martine. Don't know anything about Mimi either but they summate that she "must be bussin FRFR, Gelatosss next to the train station so niche, slayyyy." Real bang up job losers. It's Gelati. Nepo hires. Summer interns. Obviously not getting full time positions. On that note, if you're interested in working for a leader of the industry, find your way to my DMs. Don't be afraid of your idols. So sick of this shite but I'll continue because I'm a professional. You see this Yelp!!! Consummate pro. Spot is cute, nice to walk to after dinner on a double tiered Scarsdale downtown. This place is great. I had wanted to try this gelato place for a few months. I was in the area and walked over to try it out. The line was out the door, but it was worth it! I love gelato, and I'm so glad I came here. I ordered the chocolate gelato. It was delicious. I'd try more flavors next time. But, chocolate is always my favorite. I love the ambiance here, and the lighting. There are tables and chairs located inside and outside of the shop. But, it is limited. If you're nearby, I'd recommend stopping here! read more

The portions are very small and overpriced. I overheard the way management treats their workers and it is not pleasant.

This is not a review about the gelato the gelato is good here. Great even. This is about their out of control ordering system. They notoriously have long wait times but the amount of times I got pushed around today by kids and entire families of 7 or 8 trying every single flavor of gelato there's no system for the line. They need to add a divider to show how the line works or someone could yell out that if you have your gelato in your hands don't stand around eating it blocking everybody else. The staff is nice but they allow their customers to bully other customers. The waits are excessive but it's the process more than the wait that I'm upset about. It's a small space, put a sign at least that says if you're done with paying and got a gelato in your hands, GO OUTSIDE! No eating in the tiny store. Absolutely ridiculous experience and since they've been opened they haven't done a thing about it. Also the tasting is excessive, they should only allow customers to taste 2 flavors at a time. I have witnessed people tasting every single flavor in sure it's costly for the business too to allow so much to be tasted. Love Mimi's but I've experienced this one too many times to not write this review. I'm hoping they ads at least a divider to make the line more civilized read more

Mimi's gelato is five star! Authentic, variety of flavors. One of the best around since Panne e Gelato in Eastchester closed. Tonight, I walked in 5 minutes before closing and my server was helpful and conscientious. I ordered 2 cups to go for $17. While she was finishing the order, I walked over to the collective tip jar and put in a dollar. After I paid with my card, I decided to put another dollar in the collective tip jar for good service. When I left the store, there were 2 employees folding up chairs from the outside cafe area. As I walked past them they were giggling and one girl came up to me and asked, "did you take a dollar out of the jar?" WHAAAT? I replied, "you're rude, I'm a customer." I should've gone back and taken the $2 out of the jar to give to my server rather than leave it in the shared tips!! Management needs to work on employee customer service training. read more

Mimi's has taken Scarsdale by storm. They built out a tiny location at the Scarsdale train station, right across the street from their main business- Martines. Martines offers coffee's, pastries and prepared items- all of which are excellent. They applied their high standards to Mimi's which offers a dizzying array of flavored gelatos- all delicious. The location is ultra modern in design and they service you quickly and pleasantly. It just goes to show that there are opportunities all over- you just need the right idea and strong implementation. Value is fine for the experience and they have large to go containers- sure to be a big hit a Westchester dinner parties. Congrats on this new positive addition to the Scarsdale dessert scene. It's amazing to me to read the other reviews of Mimi's as many sad and unhappy people will somehow find something to complain about..... read more

Amazing Gelato. This place just opened tonight. Some of the most amazing flavors I have ever had. They currently have gelato and sorbet. They will have Belgian and American waffles. And Italian crepes. Ratings: #1: Kookies & Caramel #2: Cantaloupe Sorbet #3: Shakerato coffee-hazelnut (vegan) They make a great use of space and it is a welcome edition to the area. The service was exceptional. I came back a second time and actually got a full helping of the Kookies & Caramel in the cone. The cone was way better than any waffle cone I have ever had. All I could say was OMG!!! read more

I've eaten a lot of ice cream/gelato over the years (ok weeks) and Mimi's is as good as any I've tried...including Italy. It's right above the train station so great little place to stop in when you're waiting for the train. Allow some time, it was very busy when we went. read more

Gelato was ok as we have visited Mimi's over 6 times at least. One day though, we noticed a hair in the gelato in the case. A worker proceeded to just pull the hair out and continue serving the same gelato as if nothing was wrong. So if you like gelato with hair or perhaps anything that it may have touched then this is the place for you. read more

Went today with my husband and son. After we paid and turned around to leave a girl worker rudely shouts "are you planning on paying?" After I said "we did" she asked us who checked us out. I didn't remember the name of course so she asks all the other girl workers until one finally admits she checked us out. The one who rudely accused us of not paying just replies "no worries". This is more of a WARNING than a review. They don't have anything and mean absolutely nothing marked for allergies. Which in most places isn't necessary an issue and common sense can be used but here they have tree nuts in flavors like plain chocolate, caramel and even mint. The chocolate syrup has tree nuts in it which you would think would be clearly marked but it's not. There is a small generalized sign about allergies that every food service establishment has but when you ask the workers what has certain allergens they all start to stare at each other then look around and then look towards the back as if someone back there knows the answer. The gelato here is significantly better than Amorino's, and also more affordable than Grom, Arte Del Gelato, or Eataly. Very tight shop with such a long line, no place to sit. Waited so long to finally get some gelatos for my toddler. Their flooring and chair choices are very poor for a gelato shop. Floor is hard rocky style and chairs are without proper backs and no arm support. My toddler fell through the back of the chair and had a terrible head injury due to their hard rocky floors. No kiddy chairs were in sight and it turned out to be our worst night! Later when we asked them for ice to cold compress our baby's injury they said they don't have any. UPDATE! I reviewed this cute shop shortly after it opened and at that time I was very unimpressed. I was reluctant to return to small portions and gelato that did not look fresh, but I decided to give it a try since I had seen it written up in magazines and articles recently. I'm happy to report that I'm happy I gave it another chance! We stopped for a treat after dinner last night and it was truly amazing. The flavors were fresh, the pistachio was more of a tan/brown color and the flavor was amazing, just like it should be. The fruit flavors were excellent, and everything looked fresh. The servings were a bit more generous, which I appreciated given the price. This is the real deal! I will be back again. read more
