She tried, but honestly she shouldn't have. We got 3 cones that were supposed to be medium but were almost liquid and smaller than any small should be. Maybe 1" of ice cream above the cone. She finally told us she couldn't do the other two until the mix she added was chilled, 15-30 minutes. She made us sundaes instead for the other two and gave us a discount... still came to $25. I owned my own business, a restaurant even, for almost 10 years. I know what she was trying to do. I understand and applaud the effort, but in this case the thought process was wrong. From the moment it was clear there wasn't enough, and even those tiny cones, it should have been "I'm sorry, the soft serve isn't ready. What else can I get you instead." Then make us normal product of whatever we order *and* a little discount as a sorry about not being ready, and this would be a 5 star review.

There were five of us, each ordering one drink. One drink that was ordered iced was made hot and then simply poured over ice. This ruins the integrity of the espresso and waters down the entire drink. My sister was unable to finish her drink because it was gross. Another drink was forgotten entirely and was only made after we repeated what it was three times. The employee at the register eventually pulled up our order on the iPad and read it back, confirming that we had ordered everything correctly. The whole interaction felt awkward, and the person working the register was passive aggressive. I will say that the person making the coffee was friendly and quickly made the forgotten drink once they realized what happened. I've worked in specialty coffee for five years, so I understand that you don't have to be happy or overly friendly all the time when working in customer service. But people often go out for coffee as a small treat, to fill a craving, or as a pick-me-up on a bad day. A welcoming interaction makes a difference, and unfortunately, the service here left more of an impression on me than the coffee or the space did.

The occasion: viewing the incredible "Keith Haring: Grace House Mural" exhibition at MCA Denver back in 2021. Towards the end of my visit, I went upstairs to the rooftop and purchased a bottle of Big B's organic lemonade. Organic ingredients include lemon juice, cane sugar, whole lemons and apple juice, along with filtered water and natural flavor. What I loved about this lemonade is the citrus essence was great, it was not cloyingly sweet (more moderately sweet), and the apple juice gave it a welcome, totally different taste not found in most lemonades. Drinking this delicious lemonade was a great way to cap off an enjoyable visit to the museum. On a different note, I didn't realize Hotchkiss, Colorado is actually closer to Utah than Denver. It's about 236 miles away from Denver. But if I'm ever taking a road trip, I would like to visit Big B's Delicious Orchards.

The showers have everything you'll need and the sheets are crisp and fragrance free. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. Cindie, the proprietess, was my gracious hostess. She and her staff were so accommodating, warm, and professional. They treated me like a prince! Everything has been carefully thought of to make my stay in the glamping tent easy and relaxing.
