I came here with some friends for a late-night bite, and it was definitely worth it. The menu isn't very large, but everything they offer is full of flavor. We ordered the salmon croquettes, the garlic shrimp (I think that was the name), and the jerk lamb chops , which were my favorite. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the restaurant had a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. The only downside was that there weren't any tables available for customers who wanted to eat their food. Luckily, we were able to grab seats at the bar. We arrived around 11 p.m., so that may have been part of the reason. This was my first time attending brunch in Mimosa on grand. My sister and I were attending black Joy and decided to start off the day with the Great meal. We had made reservations as they are recommended. I love the vibe and aesthetic of the restaurant. The artwork is fantastic and the music was on point. We chose the brunch option for our breakfast choice. You also had the option of purchasing entrees outside of what was on the menu. I really enjoyed the variety of the brunch and they catered to dietary needs as well. I really enjoyed the chicken sausage with eggs and vegan vegetable and potatoes. The potatoes were very unique and had a great flavor because they use truffle oil. This is one of the very first brunch places I have came to where every item on the menu had a unique taste and it was excellently prepared. The Cajun shrimp topped my garlic grits and reminded me of being back in New orleans. The breakfast also included French toast and your option of a banana pudding muffin with caramel sauce. Everything was incredibly curated and The Taste were defined. Brunch couldn't be complete without a morning mimosa. My sister and I enjoyed a Paloma which was strong but still refreshing and sweet. I know this place as M2. It has a very nice cultured atmosphere and offers a variety of social events including trap karaoke, brunch, and food events. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Above the bar, they play the most current popular sporting events such as basketball and football games. The staff are friendly, hardworking, approachable and cater to the needs of each guest for reasonable requests. The place was very clean. There is a very energetic DJ playing a mix of the best of what music has to offer which includes hip hop and r&b. He knows how to keep the crowd singing and moving. The food was crazy good and they even offer vegan options. Best brunch hands down and not only because the food was so good but because they do it "closed buffet" style. For a flat fee you can go to the buffet and be served the menu options (it's not self serve which prevents the spread of germs). The drink menu was great and we tried several of the drinks. All of them were good. I have zero complaints. This place puts other brunch places to shave and even stays open a little later than lots of typical brunch places that close or stop serving at 3pm. The bar was too slow for just champagne pours on a busy Saturday . There was only one bartender and 1-2 bar backs. The music was too loud to hold conversations inside and I was getting a headache. We went there for a birthday brunch, it was about 20 of us. First of all we stood at the door while they just looked at us for about 5 minutes until I asked if we should seat ourselves. Now about the drinks, the drinks are overpriced for the size. We ordered an 8 oz Margarita for $21. (definitely not worth it). On to the food! Brunch means breakfast and lunch. There were only breakfast items to choose from. Bacon, sausage and nasty cheap links. The grits were not done, they were really gritty with an aftertaste I couldn't put my finger on. The French toast was gooey (also not done). They did not drain the grease off the bacon, so your plate had bacon grease running down. The eggs are either powdered or from a carton ( Horrible). Halfway through the meal, I got up and asked for water, we were not offered any. When we went back to try to get different options from what we first got, they ran out of links, potatoe, fruit and biscuits ( which was the only thing I ate for $28). I was told they were cooking more but after 30 minute, I just left. If you want to waste your money go there. I definitely do not recommend it. read more

Hello so this weekend I went to this lounge in Oakland by lake Merritt. When walking in its a nice atmosphere. They serve food until 10pm and also have a cocktail special menu which is served until 11:30pm which I thought was very smart. We had a VIP table but I went to the bar to place my order. I did ask the bar tender what food does she recommend so that was a nice encounter. I order a Hennessy side car which was a 10 out of 10. I ordered some truffle fries along with some prawns with butter garlic sauce. Let's just say it was money well spent. I finally took at a look at the cocktail menu and saw a blackberry sidecar and thought that too was delicious so I had 2 of those. Overall it was a good night great music and a good atmosphere. Let me first start by saying that I had a very good time celebrating my Birthday at M2. We came in there this evening, which is a Thursday night so we could enjoy the five dollar menu. I didn't like the fact that it was so busy and you had to wait on the bartenders for several minutes to place an order for drinks or food. The music was great. I didn't like that karaoke wasn't until 9 PM. I got there at 5 PM in hopes of doing karaoke, not knowing that it started so late. Unfortunately, we did not stay until 9 o'clock because one of the ladies in my party decided to go to the sushi place and bring her food into the establishment. Later she approached by the owner while she was outside smoking a cigarette regarding said situation. When she came back inside to the group, she was in full-blown tears and crying uncontrollably. Such a vibe kill! Anyway, We decided to leave immediately following the encounter. I personally apologized to the owner for the mishap, even though I did not eat a single crumb of the food (edamame). Truth be told I made sure the edamame was cleaned up and off the table. I even cleared the empty cups, champagne glasses and other trash from the table because no one came around to do so. Would I go back? For sure. Would I recommend? Yes. Advice: arrive early to get a good seat, Order the Brussel sprouts. Most importantly leave your outside food outside. read more

I went for the beef links, chicken sausage, potatoes with brussell sprouts, biscuit, grits, and an amazing gravy. EVERYTHING was delicious and I couldn't get enough of the grits and gravy. I went for Sunday Brunch a little after 12 noon. We were treated by a nice young lady and seated right away as it wasn't too crowded. We sat at a high table, but were comfortable. There was a variety of foods to choose from. I had bacon, potatoes, grits, and french toast. I had a Miami Vice that I ordered from the bar and it was GOOD. They don't take cash, but I carry very little cash anyway. A couple of staff came by to take our plates (ready for round two) and asked if everything was ok. Seems like a family type of vibe. Went with coworkers on a Thursday night which happened to be karaoke night. The vibe was great and the dj had everyone moving. Ordering was a bit confusing but we figured out we get food and drinks at the bar. Ordering was difficult because most people were seated at the bar so getting access to a bartender was hit or miss. Once we ordered, i was surprised to get my drink in a tiny plastic cup while my coworker got hers in a glass but i guess it's all the same when you drink it. The food took more than 45 minutes to come out and was very cold. Not pictured was also an order of greens and pork chops. I went for the 1st time on Sunday. They open at noon according to their posted hours. They were not open at noon more like 12:10. When you walk in, you have to show your id, really, why? Then you are given a menu to decide if you're going to do the brunch or order from the menu. You pay 1st and then you can go to the buffet. Of course the food was not ready. It wasn't until 12:30pm that the buffet was open. There is no service to speak of. You order your drinks at the bar. The brunch does not include mimosas with it. They clear your paper plates from your table. The music is extremely loud and makes conversation difficult. They play it so loud because they say people want to dance and enjoy themselves. It appears that they want to cater to a younger crowd. I will not return to this black owned establishment. Not opening on time, not having the food ready on time, playing the music too loud, the seating is uncomfortable and the food is so so makes it not the place for me. I remember the 1st version of this restaurant. Lessons were not learned. I wish them the best in catering to the younger crowd. read more
