Based on HH. My family and I went to Parche for happy hour on Juneteenth. We ordered 4 drinks off the happy hour menu (but the price were the sameish as the non-HH prices. We wanted to order some food off the HH menu and were told that only plantains and empanadas were available. Both were like $12. The bartenders are super nice and friendly. We got the bill and I was flabbergasted by how much it ended up being. $94 for 4 drinks and barely two bitings. We ended up getting a slice of pizza from Mama's Boy across the street This is the third time I've been to Parche and probably won't come back. Super disappointed with this experience. read more

We came to celebrate an anniversary and enjoyed our dinner at Parche! The restaurant is thoughtfully curated with its decor and handles both small and large parties well. We ordered the: -chicharrons: super delicious, the pork was crispy and paired well with the pickled toppings. I'm usually not a fan of yuca fries but theirs was crispy and tasty! -crispy plantains: the plantains came out fresh, super crispy and pairs extremely well with the condiments that was offered altogether. -steak: ordered off the larger sides, the steak was cooked to medium rare and tasted delicious. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert but we'd love to come back for future dinners and/or celebrations. Another win for Oakland, what a beautiful space and place ~ Parche off Broadway. With no reservations, a friend and I wanted to grab some bites and a bevy. We were seated right at 5p, but were told there was a reservation for our table at 6:30p which gave us plenty of time to sit down, relax, and enjoy our meal. Wowee, the restaurant space is so vibrant and full of life. Friendly staff that helped to guide us through the cocktail and food menu. It was suggested to order 2-3 shared plates, and our server was spot on. We did the Sweet Plantain "gnocchi", Empanada de Ajiaco, and the Costilla Negra. What a treat! The Gnocchi dish was entirely vegan made from actual plantains, but would never have known. Topped with vegan sausage, eggplant, and in a hazelnut puree/vegan sage brown butter sauce. So unique! The empanadas had a shredded chicken base and were juicy/plump. We enjoyed the jalapeño-cilantro aioli sauce to dip. And the showstopper dish, the bone-in short rib (Costilla Negra)..yes yes yes. Accompanied with a coconut-yuca puree, it was simply divine. Would go back for this dish alone. Fall-off-the-bone meat in a creamy bed of mash..what foodie dreams are made of! My husband and I came here on a date night. It happened to be Oakland Restaurant Week, so there was the option to do the restaurant week Prix Fixe menu or their regular menu. We opted for the regular menu since I wanted to try the whole Brazino. The table next to us ordered the rest week menu, so we got to peek at their food. It all looked really good as well. We even lucky with the tapas platter from the restaurant instead of just empanadas because they kept mixing up our table with the one next to us. The ceviche was really yummy. It was a treat to be able to try a varity of small plate items with the tapas platter they brought to our table by accident. The Brazino was really cool, and tasted fine but it wasn't amazing. There were a few birthday celebrations when we were there. They bring your drink out in this elephant head statue to wish you a happy birthday. Overall, I woudl recommend giving this place a try. I came here for Oakland Restaurant Week and was blown away. The restaurant is well-decorated and gave such fun vibes. The waitress we got had great energy and was super helpful. My boyfriend and I got the special dinner prix fixe menu which allowed us to try four different dishes for less than what you would normally pay for them. Everything was so delicious but the fried plantains definitely stood out. So crunchy. So good. I was also pleasantly surprised by the portion of steak we got. Appetizers are tapas style and we ordered Ceviche (5/5) and a savory plantain dish (5/5) with three toppings, once peppery and vinegary which I love and the other two were sweeter toppings which I didn't prefer (3/5) as much. We also ate an interesting pan fried Brussels Sprouts seasoned with some sort of sugar or syrup (agave? Maple syrup?) with some kind of red looking berry that was pretty good (4/5). I normally do not like sweet and prefer savory but this was intriguing (4/5); For my main dish, I had a pork belly dish that came with shredded pork, red beans and rice and was heavy but not bad (3.5/5). I seriously can't remember the last time I found food to be this fantastic. Parche knocked this meal out of the freakin' park! We went with friends for Oakland Restaurant Week and tried everything on the menu. The fact that everyone at the table had a different favorite dish tells me all I need to know about how quality a place is. For me, my highlights were the Bruselas El Prado and the Arepa Choclo. I don't know who thought to pair brussel sprouts with a touch of sweetness, but that person is a genius. The AREPA CHOCLO OMFG. Literally the best thing I have ordered at any restaurant in AGES. Perfectly buttery, the natural sweetness from the corn, and the luscious pull of the melted farmers cheese...absolutely perfection on a plate. Service was slower than expected but the food was worth the wait! The ambience was chill and unpretentious and the space itself is well decorated. It's vibrant and upbeat and just cute and fun. So much of their menu sounded so good. We tried the plantains with slow cooked beef, beef carpaccio, chicharrons, and Brussels sprouts. Beef carpaccio was good! But in comparison to everything else it was okay (lol). Plantains were my fav and definitely add the beef!! It was so juicy and I loved the 3 different salsas you can add to your diy taco. The plantains were delightfully crispy and chewy. Perfect texture. Chicharrons came in a smaller portion than we expected, but was also really yummy. Brussels sprouts were my friend's favorite haha. The service was genuinely nice and welcoming, even though I could tell they were a bit short staff and they still handled everything with grace. I absolutely loved the presentation and flavor of the salmon ceviche. It was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully plated. I also ordered an espresso martini; it was good, but I personally missed that little touch of Baileys to make it perfect. The décor is colorful, lively, and full of personality it really adds to the whole experience. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because my steak arrived slightly cold. I had a NA cocktail which was nice. It had a smokiness that mimicked mezcal. Ended up with the two we chose plus the lechon. At $49 I expected better. So the ceviche. Decent. Honestly a little fishy, but not spoiled just strong flavored for rock fish. No salt tho and no salt on the plantain chips... Brussels - inventive, good flavor. Lechon - unfortunately cut of pork is lean, stuffed and then cut in slices. I think then each piece put under the broiler maybe? Made for a drier then should be dish. The flavors were a bit over bearing too. Everyone was nice, hospitable, seemed to be informed and trained well. So the staff is not an issue. Everything is expensive now so I wouldn't say the prices are completely out of line or anything. Just wanted more delivery for the caliber of the place. This was my first time in Parche, and I was blown away. We had a reservation for a group of three and were welcomed and seated right away. The servers were all very helpful when describing the dishes, which made our selections both easy and difficult because everything sounded delicious. We started with ceviche and the colors and layering were so pretty I almost didn't want to eat it. All of the small bites we had were incredible. The pork belly and potatoes were probably my favorite dish. We got two shared entrees and while also very good, just didn't have the same kick as the smaller plates, but the rest of my table were head over heels for the steak! Also the drinks we tried were all fantastic! For dessert, we got a flan with ice cream and I thought I was too full for it, but it was too delicious to pass up on. We loved the atmosphere here! When we arrived there was wonderful Columbian music playing and then at one point they switched to 80s dance music for 10-15 minutes, which was awkward. Eventually, they switched it back. The food was good. We had the ceviche, empanadas, and plantain gnocchi. My favorite was the latter, it tasted a lot better than it looked. It seemed like the majority of other tables were also there for birthday dinners - every few minutes someone would shout out a birthday celebration. We did not inform the staff of my birthday, so I missed out on what was apparently a free cocktail (oops). This place was delicious! We went to dinner. They have different menus, so may or not be relevant to when you go. We sat at the bar, and the servers helped recommend both drinks and dishes. They were enthusiastic about explaining the menu, which made the experience even better. We tried two cocktails: the Amaranta and the Papayazo. Both were great, but the Amaranta won us over with its gorgeous presentation. Parche is also a vegan-friendly spot, which I love. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, and they were tasty, though a bit sweeter than I'm used to. My partner got the vegan gnocchi and immediately turned around to have me try it because the vegan sausage was so convincing that she questioned if it was actually vegan. It was, and it was delicious. I ordered the Tumaco ceviche, and it was colorful, refreshing, and packed with flavor. I highly recommend it. Had really high expectations for this place based on the stellar reviews, but the execution fell short. It's a 3-star experience at best--mostly decent food, but a frustratingly poor experience that means we won't be recommending. The Good: The Sauces & Service: The sauces here are beautifully executed, and our server was friendly and attentive. The vibe is a bit crowded but lively, don't fully stretch your hands, you might accidentally hit your neighbor... if you are tall enough! Santa Maria Ceviche: Hands down the best dish of the night. Fresh, perfectly marinated fish, and an excellent sauce. The Mid: Empanada: Decent flavor, but the pastry skin was a bit thick, leaving the innermost part undercooked and doughy-stretchy. Arepa: It was "interesting"--felt less like a traditional arepa and more like a deep-fried potato patty. The mushrooms on it were delicious, though. Fried Salmon Skin: A bit fishy, and you could tell the deep-frying oil wasn't as fresh as it should be. Drinks were ok, nothing special, but a bit pricey. The Absolute Worst (and why it's a generous 3 stars): The Grilled Sirloin was a massive disappointment and easily the worst dish of our entire trip. The quality of the cut was subpar--barely scraping the bottom of "Choice" grade, if not completely unrated. One entire end was so riddled with tough tendons it was literally impossible to cut through, and the rest was some what dry undersalted. It tasted "under-beefed," exactly like a steak that had been buried in the back of a freezer for months and lost all its essence. We politely mentioned the tendon issue to our server just so they could let the chef know. Somehow, this triggered a visit from the manager, who brought over three shots of "something sweet" to end the meal. Irony alert: the drink was packed with something like angostura bitters and wasn't sweet at all, lol. Instead of an actual apology, the manager condescendingly lectured us that sirloin is a tougher cut of meat. Duh. No one is comparing this to A5 Wagyu or a prime ribeye; it couldn't even compete with a basic supermarket sirloin! To rub (the missing) salt into the wound, he ichallenged our feedback by implicitly out that we ate most of it. I literally had to tell him that there were plenty of partially cut, inedible gristle pieces left right there on the plate for him to go verify himself if he cared so much. Great sauces can't save bad meat and defensive management. I cannot recommend. read more

We ordered Tacuma ceviche with a spicy coconut milk sauce that I could eat regularly. The plantain chips were the perfect accompaniment to eat the ceviche. We also had some delicious patacones (hand-shaped crispy plantain patties) with tropical salsa and an onion salsa. Our entrees were the branzino and bistec. Wow. Each of them were fantastic; well-seasoned, appropriately portioned for sharing, and beautiful presentation. Our cocktails Amaranta and Cómo un Lulo were refreshingly good. Came across a good review in Yelp and decided to give this restaurant a try. This place looked pretty busy when we arrived without a reservation on Monday evening around 5:45. Luckily our party of four were able to get seated right away. The waiter told us that we had about 10 minutes to order from their happy hour menu, so we decided to order some drinks and one of each from food items menu listed. All the happy hour food items that we ordered were super delicious. The portions were good for sharing. Later that night, we were already full to order from the main menu and opted for some yummy desserts. Each of us had three rounds of cocktails and all the drinks were tasty and strong as well. 1/5 Extremely disappointing experience at Parche. I had a 9:00 PM reservation and received a call from the manager right at 9:00 PM. During that conversation, I told him I was on my way. His response was clear: he told me they would keep the kitchen open for us. Based on that assurance, I continued driving to the restaurant. Then, when I was approximately five minutes away, the same manager called back and informed me that the kitchen was now closed and that they would not be serving us. What frustrates me most is that this entire situation was completely avoidable. If the kitchen was about to close, he should have either told me not to come or given me a firm cutoff time. Instead, he confirmed that I was on my way and assured me they would keep the kitchen open. Had he simply been honest about the actual situation, I could have chosen from countless other restaurants whose kitchens were still open and enjoyed my evening without issue. During our conversation, the manager repeatedly tried to justify what happened by pointing to fine print in the reservation policy and by saying he had attempted to contact me at 8:48 PM. But none of that addressed the actual issue. At 9:00 PM, we spoke directly. I told him I was on my way, and he told me they would keep the kitchen open. That was the representation I relied on. If the kitchen could not remain open, he should have told me that at that moment rather than assuring me everything was fine and then calling back minutes later to cancel. To make matters worse, the manager later claimed that I had told him I was only five minutes away, which is simply not true. I never gave him a five-minute arrival estimate. Yet that inaccurate statement somehow became part of the explanation for why they decided to close the kitchen. I even asked why they couldn't simply take my order over the phone and have the food ready when I arrived. First, I was told that the food would be prepared too quickly and would be cold by the time we got there. When I questioned that explanation, the reasoning changed and I was then told they couldn't count on me to pay. The explanations seemed to change depending on the conversation, which only made the situation more frustrating. Adding to that, the manager repeatedly referred to me as "friend" throughout the conversation while refusing to honor the commitment he had made minutes earlier. Under normal circumstances that wouldn't bother me, but in this situation it came across as dismissive and insincere. I would have preferred accountability and a genuine apology. The proposed solutions were equally disappointing. At one point, the manager assumed I had taken an Uber and offered to reimburse an Uber fare. Besides being an incorrect assumption, it completely missed the point. The issue was never transportation costs. The issue was that we relied on his assurance that the kitchen would remain open, only to have that commitment withdrawn while we were already on the way. My two friends and I had planned on having a nice dinner together. Instead, we spent the evening scrambling to find somewhere else to eat. After being turned away elsewhere because of kitchen closures, we ultimately ended up eating at BJ's around 10:30 PM. I drove up from Los Angeles for the evening, and thanks to how this was handled, I essentially spent six hours on the road only to end up eating at BJ's. Had the manager simply been straightforward with me from the beginning, I could have made different plans and enjoyed dinner at any number of other restaurants still serving food. The only meaningful solution offered was a vague promise of a discount if I came back another time. After having a reservation effectively canceled while I was already en route based on the manager's own assurances, that did not feel like a serious attempt to make things right. Frankly, after this experience, it was difficult to understand why I would ever consider returning. The entire interaction left me questioning why I would ever return to Parche or consider visiting any affiliated restaurants. Mistakes happen, but what separates a good restaurant from a bad experience is how management handles them. In this case, there was no ownership, no accountability, and no acceptable resolution. If you're going to accept reservations and assure guests that the kitchen will remain open, you should honor that commitment. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. What should have been a nice dinner with friends turned into a frustrating and unnecessary ordeal. Instead of enjoying the evening we had planned, we spent it scrambling from restaurant to restaurant looking for somewhere still serving food. In the end, the night was only barely salvaged, and certainly not because of anything Parche did to make the situation right. A simple, honest conversation at 9:00 PM would have avoided the entire problem. read more

We went to Parche on the night of the Lauryn Hill concert- the atmosphere was wonderful and the place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL- the food was amazing and although the price was a bit high we didn't mind because the service and music and food was amazing! If you're looking for a modern, chic restaurant serving top quality Colombian food, this is your spot. Featuring a wide variety of dishes, ranging from the mouth watering ceviches to braised short ribs, there's no shortage of things to try. In particular, the Tumaco ceviche and Santa Marta ceviche are excellent. Both have unique flavor profiles, featuring cilantro and coriander oils respectively that leave your mouth watering and craving more. The Posta Negra is a great dish to share as well, a combo of sweet glazed short rib that falls apart as you cut into it and a yuca mash, that's quite starchy with a hint of coconut. It's like a mix between a classic main and a creamy dessert. The atmosphere is bustling, with tightly packed tables, yet the overall environment still feels upscale. This is the perfect date-night spot or if you're looking to grab a few drinks in the evening. Definitely one of my new go-to's in the East Bay. read more

Parche has such a lively atmosphere. The space is full of color and personality and the decor really brings out Colombian culture. There's upbeat music playing in the background which adds to the fun vibe without being too loud. It just feels like a good time as soon as you walk in. We tried a few different dishes and were seriously impressed with some of the flavors. - Tumaco Ceviche: fish was super fresh + buttery soft paired with a coconut-lime sauce that was nutty and refreshing. The dish comes with plantain chips on the side which it always nice to have something crunchy that contrasts the texture of the fish! - Chorizo Corn Dog: A fun twist on a classic. Nice crunch when you bite in, and the flavor was on point. It came with thick yuca fries that had a perfectly crispy exterior. Super good! - Chicharrón y Yuca: This one was just okay for me... not a must-order. The dish is on the heavier, oilier side, and a couple of the pork belly pieces were mostly fat and skin without much meat. Servers were friendly and welcoming. They checked up on us twice during the meal to make sure we were enjoying our food. Overall, I'd probably revisit Parche if I'm in the area and my friends want to try something different from our usual spots. read more

Came on a Friday evening for dinner with a coworker. Public transit is your best bet for transportation but street parking wasn't too terrible at that hour for some reason. I had made reservations on Resy a few days prior for 7:30, but we still had to wait around 10 minutes after arriving on time to be seated. Decor is decidedly Latin and very welcoming, but service was a little standoffish. Es Por Te: rum, matcha, lime, strawberry-powdered espuma. I did not care for how medicinally sweet this tasted - to be honest, it almost gave me a cough lol. The fun stopped after the novelty of the foam. Patacones: the plantain was fried well and unsurprisingly filling, but the three accompaniments made each bite feel lighter. Favorites were the tropical salsa and onion marmalade. Pesca Samaria: great entree and worth the 15 minute additional wait. Not only was the corvina meat perfectly flaky and moist, its skin maintained a great crunch. i'm also fairly sure I fell in love with how coconut was represented in the dish, from how it imparted so much flavor to the rice to its almost vanilla-like profile in the beurre blanc with the fish. Points for the sweetness of the charred onion, crunchy sea bean (?), and fun shrimp tuile. Also a sucker for tableside pours, so yay me I suppose. Perhaps my next cocktail here will match the quality of the food. Would love to come back! read more
