We quickly stopped in for their happy hour mimosas. The service was quick and friendly, nothing that stood out but we were taken care of right away. The space is super cute and aesthetic, but the mimosa options were the highlight. They had lavender, peach, watermelon, guava, mango and so many other flavors to choose from. At only $6 dollars during happy hour, you really can't beat it. We were there on a Sunday, and I believe they offer happy hour daily. We also ordered the hummus with pita bread and both were delicious. It was a quick stop for us this time, but we'll definitely be returning to try some of the Mediterranean dishes they offer. We will definitely be returning to try the mediterranean dishes they offer.
Came here for a monthly "dinner with friends" course spot that a mother and daughter duo have opened up in the gaslamp.. the food was amazing! Very flavorful! As you can see from the videos and pictures the inside is just absolutely adorable. They've done a great job!! Highly recommend giving him a try. It is downtown in the gas lamp, so we did feel as a group that it was somewhat pricey but still worth the try.

The decor is gorgeous, warm, and stylish, with beautiful blue tones throughout -- which already won me over because blue is my favorite color. Our server, Emily, was fantastic. She was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely added to the experience. Great service can make a good meal better, and she absolutely did that. Now let's talk about the food, because they did not miss. At all. I ordered the salmon, and it was masterfully prepared. Perfect texture, full of flavor, and the sauce was the kind of sauce you keep going back to even after you swear you're done. My friends had the lamb, chicken, and beef plates, and everything at the table looked and tasted like it was made with real care. The salads were crisp and fresh, and the dressings were bright, flavorful, and balanced. And then there was the espresso martini. Honestly? Best I've ever had. No notes. The owners and staff were also genuinely kind and welcoming, which gave the whole experience that extra "we'll definitely be back" feeling. This is officially my new favorite Mediterranean restaurant in San Diego.
Was excited to try this place and it lived up to the current reviews and expectations! The red pepper hummus was so good. Its smooth, great olive oil in it and the bread was super warm. The lamb adana was a great sandwich. Solid amount of meat, great flavor and a sauce on the side + great, crispy fries! The service was excellent. She was so attentive, friendly and on top of everything. Music was good too in there & there is plenty of seating, including outdoors! Will be back when in SD
We were warmly greeted and quickly settled into a freshly prepped booth near the bar--cozy, comfortable, and exactly what you want when you're easing into a late lunch. The three of us shared the lunch-sized red pepper hummus and Çoban salad before moving on to a full portion of the chicken shish kebab (served with rice and a crisp green salad). Everything tasted exceptionally fresh and thoughtfully balanced--nothing overly seasoned or weighed down with oil. Just tender, perfectly cooked chicken, vibrant hummus, warm pita triangles that disappeared faster than we care to admit, and bright, refreshing greens. We paired lunch with a rosé (as one should), and just when we thought things couldn't get better, the owner stopped by and treated us to a delightful surprise: a Turkish coffee-inspired shot. Imagine an espresso martini's sophisticated cousin--silky, slightly sweet, topped with creamy foam and what I'm fairly certain was a sprinkle of pistachio magic. Dangerous, in the best way. Hospitality like this doesn't go unnoticed. Between the food, the atmosphere, and an owner who clearly loves what she does, Mimoza has officially earned a spot in my regular rotation. Looking forward to returning for dinner--and working my way through the rest of the menu, one delicious bite at a time.

Great service and appears to be family owned! Food was delicious, especially that red pepper hummus. We came in during a world cup game that everyone had access to see. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Establishment was clean and trendy!
The service here is amazing. The staff was very very attentive and patient even though we took forever deciding what we wanted. However, when we arrived, the place reeked like someone was smoking. Eventually I became nose blind to the smell. The food was mediocre. I got a salad with chicken and for some reason it was drenchedddd in dressing and also had a pool of oil on the bottom. Whole reason I ordered a salad was to get some veggies in me but the dressing and oil overpowered everything. My sister got the gyro wrap with fries which was also ok. The gyro tasted very gamey and the fries were nothing special. I just couldn't justify how much we paid for the quality of the food.
My family and I had reservations for outdoor dining, which was perfect since we had our puppy with us. We started with warm pita bread and the cilantro jalapeño hummus. My hubby and I both ordered the Lamb Shish Kebab, served with rice and a green salad, while our daughter enjoyed the Shrimp Penne Pasta with mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, and garlic in a creamy pesto sauce. We also enjoyed Turkish tea with our meal. The lamb was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The service was friendly and attentive.

We found this place on Yelp since that's all I do is yelp. :).. We figured we try it out. The place had plenty of inside seating and it wasn't that busy so the hostess sat us down right away. Our waitress Melissa greeted us right away and asked if we needed any water which we asked for some tap water. We then ordered some drinks a berry something and glasses of red wine (Malbec, Pinot). Both wines tasted lovely and the berry drink was very tasty and refreshing. We didn't order any apps and our entrees were the Doner wrap, Adana Kebab, and the Grilled Kofte. All of the dishes were cooked great, nice flavor on all of the meats, the rice cooked prefect, and the sauces that went with the dishes were a good condiment for them. The salads that came with the dish was really good, and a good dressing went with it. The owner Debbie (the actual name is spelled differently) but she goes by Debbie came by to check on us and see if we needed anything. She was very nice, nice meeting her. For dessert we ordered the Havuc Baklava. This was the best Baklava that I've ever had. It was light and flaky crust, not to much sweetness dripping over the dish so that was good. The pistachios give it a different taste which is good. The overall ambience of the place was very refreshing. The also had some good halloween decorations up. Kudos to our waitress Melissa who was outstanding and waiting on us.

When I opened the box I was shocked at how little meat was included. Don't get me wrong, the lamb did taste good and the rice was cooked well. Salad was very mid, no real flavor. This much meat for a $29 order?? I think this place is overpriced, and not good enough to make sense of the small meat portion. read more
Celebrated our friend's birthday here and it was a fun time!! Everyone really enjoyed their meals! The portions were generous and filling, that my friend and I shared the chicken wrap (they had the wrap, I had the fries) and it was the perfect amount! My friends said the sauce was so good too, similar to a spicy mayo but with more herbs Two of our friends ordered drinks, which they shared w me so I know the bar does a wonderful job! Can't remember the names of the drinks and didn't get any photos, but one was purple while the other was orange! Our waitress was kind and helpful! She checked on us a few times and was proactive w the bar when she noticed our drinks hadn't arrived yet :) Also the interior aesthetic is GORGEOUS!! Was looking for a cute date night place last minute and happened upon this cute restaurant. I am personally not the most experienced in Mediterranean cuisine, but wanted to try and expand into something I eat very little of. Walking in, I found the decor to be really charming with beautiful murals on the walls, a youthful, yet elegant decoration style, and many tasteful choices that kept the place dark but still well lit enough to see the menus and the food. The drink menu with the cocktail art was particularly cute at the table and complimented the overall esthetic nicely. Our server was very kind and helpful; as mentioned previously I have very little experience with Mediterranean food so she helped me to pick the entree and explained the dish very well. The food was incredibly well plated and really tasty, bringing lots of different flavors in each dish. We started with the Red Pepper Hummus, followed by the Beef Borek, which were both very yummy and light. For the main course, I ordered the Beyti Sarma per our waitress' recommendation, and was blown away. Not only was the presentation beautiful, but the taste was incredible as well. I do not get to eat lamb as much as I'd like to, but the overall mix of spices, sauces, and the lavish wrap were immaculate! This was a lot of fun and, while a little expensive, not so much as to break the bank. I would definitely come back to try some of their other dishes, but if you are downtown and looking for a nice little getaway from the overall chaos, I highly recommend making a stop here! read more

I'm always on the hunt for good Mediterranean food, and this spot checked a lot of boxes for me. The place looks really good inside. Its clean, modern, and the kind of aesthetic that actually adds to the experience. We went on a busy weekend, but the service stayed solid and never felt rushed or overwhelmed. The food was amazing, especially the gyro meat, which was super juicy and not dry at all. They also have great happy hour prices, which makes it even better. The atmosphere stayed surprisingly quiet, so it still felt relaxed. Parking-wise, there's street parking, plus a parking structure right across the restaurant, which is a big plus. read more

Truly wonderful and lovely spot, with amazing flavorful food. Exactly what I needed: the lentil soup with a basket of pita points, the "mimoza house salad" but with fresh falafel instead of the chicken, since I'm a vegetarian. Also, of course, a mimosa and an ample carafe of water, just perfect, since I had just gotten off an airplane and was waiting for my hotel room to become available. Such friendly service, really great care and nice presentation. Highly recommend and hope I can return. read more

What a pleasant surprise! I'm generally wary of the downtown restaurants... I find them to be overpriced, low quality, and all about "vibes". But this restaurant is actually really good. We came with a large party before a show at the Civic theater. We were seated at a beautiful table in the center of the restaurant with very comfortable chairs. Our server was prompt and helpful. We started out with drinks and a couple of appetizers off of the happy hour menu. I had the Borek, which are Turkish cheese rolls. They were light and delicious and came with a nice tzatziki sauce. I ended up getting a glass of wine not on the happy hour menu because it sounded delicious. The owner came out and offered me a taste a sample of anything I'd like and I'm glad she did, because otherwise I might've gone from more of a familiar selection. Highly recommend the Tokat if you like white wine! There was a wide range of entrées on the table for dinner. Some of my friends got Gyro plates and Doner kebabs and were very happy. I went for the Bronzino and it was very well well-made. Huge whole fish and the skin was wonderfully crispy. Came with a very nice light side salad. Prices for everything were reasonable, didn't seem to carry the inflated downtown surcharge that everything else has. I would definitely come back to this restaurant again. read more

We went for diner....what a surprise Nicest place to have an elegant diner in all gas light district The food was extraordinary and service supreme. The soda from Turkey was delicious...try it. The bread, the branzino grilled and all really you can taste like you are in Turkey. Please do not hesitate next time in San Diego and enjoy this place. read more
It has been a year since I came here and it was still charming and lovely, from both the staff and environment. This time we came on a double date for lunch. My pistachio espresso martini was delicious! Not too heavy of a pistachio flavor. Really lovely. We all shared a few plates: Mixed Appetizer & Mixed Grill, and an order of falafel. Everything was beautifully seasoned and well-balanced. Delicious! We left happy & full. I look forward to going back. read more

I came here on a Sunday afternoon with a 1:30 reservation I made through OpenTable. The space is gorgeous inside, with a mix of booths and plenty of tables, and it wasn't busy, only a few other tables were occupied. On their website, they advertise a free appetizer for subscribing to the newsletter. Even though I never got the email, they still honored it, which I really appreciated. I went with the lebni hummus, which was phenomenal. For my meal, I had the chicken wrap with a side salad, fresh and delicious. I also tried the pistachio espresso martini, something I'd never seen before, and it was such a fun and unique drink. My server, Emily, was wonderful. She checked in often, made great recommendations, and even accommodated me since it was hot outside and I had my two dogs with me. Overall, the food was excellent, the atmosphere was charming and comfortable, and the service was outstanding. I'll definitely be back. read more

Food was delish - service, not so much! We started with two appetizers: calamari and liver bites. Both were really yummy. All of our entrees were also very good. Two quotes from our server: 1. When asked to describe an appetizer, she said "so, what do you want to know about it?" 2. When we had finished eating, she comes over and says, "do you want to pay or have dessert?" Each interaction with her was curt and expressed her clear desire for us to eat and get out of her section. Don't think we will be going back soon. read more
My husband and I were looking for a restaurant near the Balboa Theater downtown. One of the closest ones that came up was Mimoza. I had never heard about it before, but apparently it has been around for at least two years based on the dates of Yelp reviews. We arrived on a Tuesday around 7PM without a reservation. I would say that there were just a few tables of patrons at that time. The atmosphere was casual upscale, with a tasteful interior. That said, we chose to eat on the small outdoor patio. At the time, most of the customers were eating outside. I knew that Mimoza served mediterranean food, but looking at the menu, I found that it is a mostly Turkish restaurant. I was excited to see various varieties of borek (stuffed phyllo) and raki (Turkish licorice liquor) on the menu. Having traveled to Turkey a couple of times, these were some of the items that I have never been able to find outside of Turkey. Anyway, my husband and I shared the spinach and cheese borek. The helping was large, and it was delicious with a perfect texture. I think I could eat it every day. For entrees, my husband ordered the chicken kebab plate with fries and salad. I ordered the Mimoza Salad (house salad that comes with chicken). I know a house salad doesn't sound very interesting, but the flavors were delicious and the chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. The salad was anything but boring. I ordered a drink called Summer Rose. It was a tequila drink with fruit flavors and raki. The combination was perfect. My husband ordered the Mojito Mistral, which was a blackberry mojito with raki, which also worked really well. Service began slightly slow in the beginning, but we were given an apology for the wait, and then it was on point from that moment forward. I wondered about the name Mimoza and saw that they do a variety of mimosas. I noticed a customer near us tasking a mimosa flight. All in all, we had a wonderful meal at Mimoza. I hope the restaurant sticks around. I would love to return! read more
