What a disappointment. I can't believe the rating is high as it is. The quality of the food sucks- can they add anymore chemicals and MSG? Very unhealthy. There was 1 orange slice in a large pan. They are so cheap they barely refill many items as early as 6pm and it goes until 9pm. And when they do it's small portions at a time. They have somewhat of an underlying attitude masked with loud friendliness and smiles by the female employee. In this type of situation she talks over you and does not practice good listening skills when you bring these things to their attention. The dinner buffet it a cheap price. You definitely get what you pay for. I'd rather have less items on the buffet with better quality and pay more. This is the BEST Chinese Buffet in Appleton. The Food is always warm. Sushi is FRESH and the Variety is Amazing. Located in a tiny out of the way strip mall on Wisconsin Ave, The Staff is the Best. Kevin is helpful and always cheerful ,ready to take your order. The girls and cooks and delivery staff are kind, and always happy to see you. I boycotted this place many years ago (around 2005). I had an office down the street, and would eat here at least 3 or 4 times a week (sometimes more). I would also bring clients and have business meetings there as well. One day, I decided to get the all-you-can-eat to go. I proceeded to fill the little metal container with all sushi, and I was promptly yelled at, and told that I could fill it with all sushi. There was no signage, or anything, anywhere, saying this. So, I simply stopped going. Mindu was one of the original places to get sushi in the area, but there are now many other options, and many provide much higher quality sushi. read more

The best kept secret in Appleton! Mindu has always been a great hidden buffet. The selection is small but what they do offer is really tasty and delish, and they hand-make their sushi daily which is a nice touch from other buffets that have the premade stuff. Their all-stars for sure are the Peanut Butter Chicken, Black Pepper Chicken, and the Jalepeno Potoatoe. Also their take-out is even better than their buffet, albeit sometimes some things are out on the menu. And the best part is the value. Absolutely horrible!!!! My husband and I have been going there for years. However, we went today for Father's day, because it used to be my husband's favorite place, not today. The food was beyond terrible!! Could swear it was made 3 days ago and has been sitting out since early morning. Not to mention we went around 12:30...there was hardly any food! And of course the server sat staring out the window and had to ask her for refills. Absolutely ridiculous! Yup, we left no tip. My husband is a server so you need to earn his tip! read more

The staff seemed nice...there's the positive. We broke cardinal rule of buffets, never go if it is not busy. All food must have been sitting for a while; sushi dry, egg rolls overcooked, rice dry. Even food they did replace was not good. Don't go here. I just hope my family and I won't be peeing from our butts tonight. read more

I have been going to this restaurant for years. I usually go at lunch but also have had dinner there a number of times. The staff is friendly and if you go a couple of times, they will probably even remember what you like to drink. I find that there are certain times of the day when you get the freshest food and the largest selection. At lunch, I would suggest getting there between 11:15 and 12:45 pm. If you are going for dinner, I would suggest getting there between 5:00 and 6:00. Outside of those hours, I sometimes find that some of my favorite items are low or out. The buffet has a nice mix of choices, but don't go looking for pizza or other American fare. It is an Asian buffet and stays true to those roots. I like the sushi bar and have found it to be well stocked during the hours I mentioned. Lastly, if you are looking for fine Asian dining, this is not the place, nor is any Asian-style buffet. If you want a reasonable Asian buffet with multiple choices, a soda and good service, it is that place. read more

Definitely no frills here. You get what you pay for, which is decent food. If you want gourmet Chinese food, go elsewhere. This is a great place for an affordable lunch or dinner. The server is always so friendly and she remembers all the regulars and non regulars like me who only stop in once every few months. You have to understand that this is a family business. They won't waste money by putting more food out after a certain time of night. If something has run out, just ask them for more. They always are happy to cook more if it runs out. They really don't ask for much money as a buffet price because they know their own quality and customer base. That's like ragging on McDonalds for not cooking up all, completely fresh never frozen food. (Can't all be a wendy's am I right? lmao) read more

I went there for the second time today. The first time was fair. Today, Sunday at about 4pm I went there with my family. There wasn't much available on the buffet and they refilled it while I was there--maybe a cup of food in the bins they refilled. The food was not even lukewarm. It was awful. The only good thing was the personality of the lady working there. She was very welcoming and sweet. There were mostly empty or near empty food bins and none of it was hot. We waited over 10" for utensils and drinks. The noodles were especially bad, and I noticed that the other diners who took the noodles did not eat theirs either. We frequent this restaurant fairly regularly. The staff is so friendly and accomodating! When we arrive, they already know what dishes we like and make sure they make them fresh for us. They no longer have our favorite potatoes on the buffet, but often make a plate of them special for us without even requesting that they do so! The only thing great about this place is the staff. They're friendly and accommodating. The food leaves much to be desired, though you'll be hard-pressed to find much of it in the middle of the afternoon. If you think you'll find comfort in their beverages, you're out of luck. The soda tastes like the lines haven't been cleaned out since the place was built, and it's flatter than the tires on a 1972 Buick left on the side of the road. Dessert is a mediocre array of toddler favorites, including: generic chocolate pudding, jell-o cubes, and butter cookies. The chicken dishes are made with sub-standard chicken substances, and require lots of chewing. Half my General Tso's had no chicken in it whatsoever. Someone needs to hire the chefs down the street in my old neighborhood in Brooklyn. They wouldn't be able to keep the wait times for tables below an hour. If you have a choice, go elsewhere. read more

Not enough variety or vegetarian choices. sushi buffet is good but if you order fresh it will taste better because sushi cold is bad no matter how good it is. This was the worst dining experience ever. Decided to try it inspite of the limited quantities on the line. The food that was on the line looked like it was there a while. The food was cold. The sushi was on ice but was dried out. The man that was working the desk said that fresh food was on its way out.. They brought out a few things, but nothing that was asked for. My wife did not eat. We went to leave my wife told them that we were only paying for one meal and the guy at the desk started getting an attitude. He asked why and we told him that only I at and my wife did not , he argued that. Then, we told him that the food was cold he started raising his voice and tellin us that the health department sets the tempatures on the line , and argued it to the point that he had to show us. The soup side was warm, but the rest was cold. He did charge for one meal, only after a female wait staff told him to. He then tried to charge us for a drink even though we had water.
