Our hair trial went well in October- Mina confidently executed the rockstar-style faux hawk for my bride and then kept working with my comments to help me find the style I wanted to wear on my big day. Last weekend, Mina and her team bounced between our two hotel rooms, making sure we all looked amazing for our wedding day. I will never go back to Mina, nor will I ever refer her to anyone, and here is my reasoning. On the phone, I explained to Mina that I wanted my hair to be light blonde, HOWEVER, not at the price of my hairs health. When I got to the shop, I reminded her that I wanted her to get my hair as light as she could without over bleaching it. I was okay with going at a slow process to get blonde hair. She did not listen. She bleached my entire head and completely over processed it. I have shorter than shoulder length hair and the bleach was on for over an hour. When she took the foils off, hair immediately fell in chunks to the floor. I still gave her the benefit of the doubt until she toned my hair and it was yellow and orange. After blowdrying and straightening it, my hair was destroyed. It was a horrible color, I did not get a trim and my hair was chemically BURNED. I ended up going to another salon, where I learned that Mina has a local reputation for chemical burns AND I had to cut my hair off. It was damaged beyond repair and I am rocking an unwanted pixie cut, because of Mina. She is a perfectly nice person, she was polite and welcoming. Her professional skills could use a LOT of work, however. I should also mention that I paid over $300 for a ruined head of hair. read more

Mina is professional, patient, answers all of your questions about hair (she knows a lot!), and she genuinely cares about the outcome of your hair. Her and Victoria took a long time with me to get it just right. Last year, I got balayage and Brazilian treatment, and it lasted for so long, if was completely worth the money. This review is a long time coming. I went to Mina about a year ago for an event I was having in town. Firstly, she was very responsive when I contacted her for an appointment and very welcoming the morning I went in. I had sent her a few photos and before we she even touched my hair she confirmed with me what I wanted. I didn't even know that I was asking for two different things but she worked with me and repeatedly asked if that was what I wanted. BIG PLUS my hair lasted all night and that was definitely a night I will not forget. She was really nice and we had a lovely conversation about her life and how she started her business. I was so lucky to get an appointment right before New Years! I texted her and sent a picture of my current hair style and the one I wanted and she responded right away. My hair is medium length and the goal was to have Ombre highlights which meant a couple of hours of work. Once in the salon she was very welcoming, attentive and focused on my hair (there were no other clients in between). I had one of the most pleasant experiences in a hair salon and felt like I got the hair I wanted! I recommend this hair salon and will be coming back very soon!! All I got was a trim and asked for multiple layers along with face framing ones. She only have me one layer in the back and charged me $120 for just a haircut. I only cut off two inches and got one layer. NOT what I asked for. read more

Do not recommend. She completely killed my hair and decided to bleach it instead of slowly coloring the hair in multiple appointments. The first time I went it was fine but the second time to get my hair lighter, she completely ruined my hair. It was dried out, dead and the ends where just breaking off. I spent a good $900+ at this place and she knew she messed up my hair and still charged me. I even got a hair cut and she missed a spot so I had a long piece just hanging on the side. RIDICULOUS!!!! She also gossips about all of her clients and even about the Asian lady who was getting married the same day I went in for my appointment. It's horrible as an owner to do that and very unprofessional. I highly recommend to find another place to go to before she kills your hair and gives you a shitty cut. read more

Impeccably clean, welcoming with great natural light. You might blink when you drive by on that little strip of Pearl Street just before Calle Principal - once you find MINA, you'll have no problems.
