I literally just stayed quiet and just let my partner do the taking. Btw my daughter was naked already ready to be weighed as they told us. Then we had to lay her back down not even weighed and get her dressed. They could of told me on the phone to reschedule! She didn't have to be rude and say there are more important patients were coming soon. I got to the car honestly sad this happened and began calling other pediatricians. The receptionist was incredibly rude to us- she gave my wife a dirty look when she said she was late because she had a C section, then told her that the doctor cannot see us and that we could wait 45 minutes in one of the rooms until the doctor is ready to see us. My wife left the office in tears and we will not be returning. It is clear that the office does not have a proper scheduling system to prioritize newborn babies and that the only thing that matters to the office is MONEY! You are just a paycheck to them. Also, the office looks like a highly infectious environment- it looks more like a daycare facility than a doctors office. This is why we chose not to hang around while sick kids ran around in the waiting area. This is very sad to see a pediatrician treat newborn babies like another line on their spreadsheet. I gave him Tylenol as they would there or the emergency and kept an eye on the temperature numbers ...my son also sounds like he has build up in the chest( my son has a murmur according to them) and was having some trouble breathing so... I have him some breathing treatment as well as his inhaler. This room tells me she can't see me until three and hangs up the phone. Then I call back and she yells in the phone we're not open til nine a clock and hangs up. I called twenty times and no one answered the phone... Then I was informed that a fever was not a fever until it was 100.01 So I made a complaint with my insurance as well as the medical board.... I'm very disappointed with the handling the situation.

She did what all the pediatricians do, and came by to check on Julian daily in the hospital following my C-section, but when she saw me with tears in my eyes, or feeling scared, she immediately turned from doctor to friend and therapist. She assured me I was doing a great job, that Julian was perfect, and that everything would be okay. During the first few weeks postpartum, Julian wasn't gaining weight, and so we were in the office often, checking on his progress. Dr. Chan was went above and beyond helping me. After our checkups, she would ask me, "but how are YOU," which would cause me to break down every time in tears. I wasn't okay. But she took the time out, to really look me in my eyes and tell me I was the best mom for Julian and I was doing a great job. I looked forward to our chats when I would bring my son in for shots or checkups, as she was one of my only support system members and one of my biggest cheerleaders. I actually cried (and so did Julian) when we had to move! My cousin was debating on whether to be a pediatrician or an ER doctor. I told her about my relationship with Dr. Chan, how she was there for me when I really needed someone to tell me, "You're doing great and you're a good mom." I told her how she made a real difference in my life the first few months post-partum, and that she (my cousin) should know that perhaps being a pediatrician isn't all baby giggles and shots, but helping women discover the confidence to be good mom. Dr. Chan told me stories about her own journey as a new mom, and made me feel like more than a patient's parent. She made me feel like a friend. Julian and I truly miss her. He really takes his time with each of his patients and you can tell he genuinely cares about each and every family he sees. We opted into the concierge program and it is the best decision we have ever made. The ability to text Dr Kar when we have a medical concern after hours or on weekends is invaluable. It is worth every penny and has come in handy countless times. Our son had a life threatening illness in 2024 that multiple specialists overlooked, and Dr Kar is the only reason he was able to get admitted and into surgery. He was a critical voice for us at CHOC when we needed an advocate to push for treatment, coordinate care among specialists, and get prescriptions and home health services figured out. I genuinely do not know what would have happened had we not had Dr Kar on our side. No one ever wants to be in a situation where their child has a life threatening medical condition but if you find yourself there like we did, Dr Kar will be in your court 100%.

Big fan of both Dr. Liu and also Dr. Davari. My only comment is that the doctors tend to be so…read morethorough that we are often waiting quite some time either before our appointment or during the room waiting for the doctor. Dr. Liu is our primary doctor but we have seen Dr. Davari for last minute visits due to unexpected illness. Dr. Liu has always been very thorough and conservative in care. She would rather be safe than sorry. After each birth she makes it a point to check in with me as the mom and offer advice and always takes time to answer ask our questions. Dr. Davari has always been very comforting and reassuring each time I have spoken with him on the phone and also when we saw him in person. I feel good knowing that I trust with doctor with the care of my children. I am also very grateful for their after hours answering service. For emergencies they can take messages and forwardd them to the doctor that is on call. This is such a reassuring service!
