So, I will start out by saying that I have had a regular nail girl for the past year. However she moved almost 45 minutes away. So to save some time I decided to try Mina Nails. Worst decision ever! I went in for a dip manicure. Any good salon will not drill all your color off because it's not good for your nails. Usually they rough up the surface and then apply acetone. It takes time. The nail girl drilled my nails so badly that my fingers started to burn. I asked her about soaking them off, she stated that they only did that for acrylic nails. Even though I was bothered I continued with the manicure. I picked out a ballet pink color. Which I might add I get on a regular basis and it's beautiful. I let her know that my normal girl does 3 coats because my nails are thin and they break. She stated twice that she would do 2 coats. I finally insisted that she do 3. Which she listened to. Then I noticed two things that were the deal breakers!!! The first was she did not apply the clear dip powder before the dip color. Every other place I've been to does this! When I asked why she wasn't doing it she stated that my nails would be too thick. I told her..."you complimented my nails when you first started so clearly you could see that they were not thick!" I shook my head but let her continue. THEN I noticed she was not applying any powder to the edges of may nails, they had no color. When I asked she said she doesn't put powder on the edges again because "they would be too thick" and that she only coats the top of the nails only. Then I became angry!!! I asked why would you not put color on the whole nail?!?! I said nowhere i have ever been leaves your tips with nothing on! She said I was being cheeky...got up and walked away. Not only was the nail process horrendous, but she had no plan to listen to what I wanted....the paying customer! I drove an hour to my regular nail girl...1 clear powder coat and 3 color coats later I have beautiful NATURAL looking nails. Not quite sure why this lady could not wrap her head around that. They charged me too much for my services and I thought I caught the transaction before it went through. I thought the wrong transaction was voided. (It wasn't) so they ended up charging me twice. I was charged 40 on accident and the 32 for my actual services. That's 72 bucks. It's Christmas time, I needed my 40 dollars back. So I went in today to get my money back and they were "too busy" to give me my money back. So they asked me to come back tomorrow. I told them I'm super busy tomorrow. So they asked me to come back on Monday. I'm sorry, you don't mess with people's money and time. And they already have messed with both of those with me. Initially tried going to HiTek nails, even though it says walk in welcome, they were fully booked apparently. But even though Mina nails says appt only on yelp, they welcomed me in without any appt. I waited about 30 min but I didn't mind it, it was busy as is. The place was very nice and clean with friendly workers. And they also offer Alc. I wasn't able to get any this time but I'll be sure to next time. The man working on my nails was named "Johnny" I think. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but he did an awesome job and all of them knew how I wanted my nails shaped. I asked for coffin shaped nails, but not too narrow on top and not too thick on the bottom. For those over 21 years of age you can also enjoy a glass of wine or beer for a small fee. The work done is far better than any other salon I've ever gone too, which is about 30 years. Mina does a good job but customer service here is TERRIBLE. Today, I was left sitting in the pedicure station with the foil and plastic things on my fingers for more than 45minutes. After my pedi was done I was told it would be 10 min to get on with my powder dip. I took the stuff off my nails, paid for the pedi and left after 35 minutes following the 10 minutes I was told the wait would be. This wasn't the first time I had been neglected and had discussed the matter with Mina on another occasion. She ignored me, sitting waiting and instead took a walk-in to do a full set on. I arrived at 2:15 and left at 4:07 with only the pedi done and being ignored. Two years of this poor service is just too much. There are many options in Lakewood. Choose one of them. read more

**updating my review** It's been a couple months since i last visited this place. While i was going there regularly i brought a couple different people in with me and they would always get classic manicures and i would get my acrylics filled.. but all the guests i brought told me that their manicures started chipping the next day and all also had visible mistakes and lumps on their polishes. Where i really drew the line with this place was with the inconsistency in the pricing... it seemed like every time i came here i would be charged more and more. I don't really know if they keep track of what your being charged for but I'm pretty sure i was probably overcharged multiple times :( the people who work here are all nice but the inconsistency was unbearable . read more

Went here because of the reviews. Pedicure started out good enough until the polish removal. The nail tech literally was using the tool to push cuticules to peel off my gel polish. The one foot went ok, then she literally ripped one of my toenails off! I saw there was a little blood on my toe. Then another tech comes & takes the rest of the polish off like I normally get it taken off with the drill. Rest of the pedicure went ok, then ANOTHER tech came to paint my toes. Sloppy paint job, painted my skin on the toenail that is half ripped off and all over & not neat on the other toes. I could not get out of there fast enough. Got the middle range pedi, but it definitely was NOT worth the money for the shotty half assed job. It looked like I got a new girl because I've seen pretty good reviews & it looked like others got better service than I did. Definitely will not frequent this place again. read more

Not what I expected for a spa experience... I had a manicure and pedicure, and 3 different people and 2 hours later, not a relaxing experience. They messed up on my French tips and painted them white and then had to redo everything- obvious language barrier, and then when they finally got around to my Fingers, Mina cut my fingers 3 times with the tools, clearly rushing to get to the next customer and had bubbles on my nails, and had a guy finish up. I do not recommend. For the quality of the work and pain caused, definitely not worth the price I paid. read more
