My son started in the preschool (Teddy Bear) program and just graduated from the pre-K class (Dinosaurs). The staff are extremely nice and caring. Shoutout to Ms. Nicole, Mr. Matt, Ms. Sonia, Ms. Harris and all the other teachers who make Latchkey great. They've created a warm environment for my child to thrive. I'm confident that my child will be ready for Kindergarten this fall and all the friends he's made at Latchkey will carry on since it's attached to the elementary school. Tuition is very reasonable for the Bay Area ($1,515 per month at the time of this posting), and lunch/snacks are included. Hours are great for working families, basically the whole day from 7am-6pm. The facilities, which are two bungalows, seem to be on the older side, however, they do keep it tidy and feels homey. If you're in Daly City and looking for an affordable and family run preschool, Latchkey is the way to go! I will definitely send my second kid there once he's old enough.

He started with the STEAM Camp in Kindergarten where he learned a ton while playing. Then he went to Chinese Camp in 1st grade to learn conversational Mandarin and this year he's at i-Camp - my personal favorite - where he learns everything about technology from building robots, EVs, coding, and more while playing and having fun. Parent Involvement: The parents are just as involved as they were back in my daughter's village days too. It truly is just like having your friends watch your kid(s). Parents prep snacks, supervisor play areas and do projects. The creativity of parents is amazing - the help to come up with new snack ideas and projects is also amazing for those that aren't as creative. For snacks, the kids have had pancakes, DIY parfait cups, cold press juices and smoothies (made during project and tasted during snack time!)and delicious banana scones. Projects have been everything from cutting fruit for snacks to self portraits New "Friends": Our son refers to his classmates as his "best friends" and looks forward to seeing them every school day. He carried around his class photo pointing and telling us the names of each of his new friends. Field Trips: The monthly field trips are a great way to get out of the classroom. We've gone to the SF Zoo, a fire station, a rodeo, a pumpkin patch, the library, aquarium and even did a grocery store scavenger hunt! It's such a treat when the parents have just as much fun as the kiddos.

They are there to wipe tears on difficult morning drop offs and are quick to send updates to soothe your heart before the day goes on. Since his first day, his classmates took him in and made him feel welcomed, and he was all in. He comes home with new phrases, ideas, and art projects almost every day. I feel like I can see branches sprouting from his head. His world is growing so much. Parent participation is really what makes this feel like a village. Everyone volunteering can empathize with toddler life and has each other's backs. They care for one another's kids as if they are all family. My husband and I don't have family in the area so to be welcomed into such community has meant a lot to us. The school helps with potty training, they take multiple field trips and most importantly- they just let the kids be kids. There are big outdoor play structures, dance parties, and share circles, a giant swing, a reading loft, musical instruments, and so many other ways to play. You don't realize exactly how much the kids are learning until they are home tired and happily singing a new song or casually dropping facts about sea creatures or dinosaurs you didn't know. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for childcare/preschool. It's truly a gem and a genuine pleasure.

One day, all the kids made were Rice Krispie treats with marshmallows mixed in. I can't imagine that would have taken more than 30 minutes of a 4 hour day at camp. I would not recommend this camp.
