These are our decorated spritzer cookies with the wonderful items we found at Sugar & Spice!

I was in a pinch for merengue powder. None to be found in our local area. I called and they answered with humans. A welcome delight considering that so many businesses send you to a recoded phone tree. The woman who answered was very helpful and said she they had plenty of merengue powder, so we drive over right away. Entering the store is a lovely time warp to the past. This place is LOADED with goodies to make your creative needs a reality. You can tell this is a loved business the two women were extremely helpful. I cant wait to go back.

I highly recommend coming here for all your baking supplies! They have everything from macaron tray holders, ube flavoring, obscure international ingredients, and an amazing selection of sprinkles, gift boxes, and baking crafts. It's also affordable and you get a much better deal than going to Michaels. The store itself is unassuming and I love that it's a baker's paradise.

Perfect if you want to get into the edibles business

Yum! We live just a few blocks away and had never been here because the hours are difficult to make…read morewith our jobs, but we finally made it! The menu consists of the typical Hawaiian fare - poke, loco moco, spam masubis, shaved ice, etc. we ordered a loco moco and the ahi tuna poke. FYI the poke is all market price only. The loco moco was honestly better than many I've tried in Hawaii. I like how the patty was seasoned and actually quite tender still! We didn't try the shaved ice but we definitely will next time.

Diamond Head General Store is a like a touch of Hawaii in the Bay Area with hawaiian based snacks,…read moredrinks, even frozen Zippy meals available for purchase! They also serve hot food if you're looking for a bite to eat. Interior has some seating inside with a grocery store kind of feeling. No outdoor seating available. Parking is limited to street parking. A few notes: * Not everything in the store is labelled with prices * Hot food was pretty average in my opinion * Price vs value wasn't great in terms of quality of food Onto the hot food: * butter mochi - definitely the best thing we ordered here! Chewy buttery and soft in texture. Don't skip this. * garlic shrimp- this was recommended by the cashier but it was quite lacking in depth of flavor with the primary taste just being garlic. No spice, nothing special to stand out. After a while the sauce gets tiring. Mac salad was prominently peppery but bland in both texture and flavor. * Mochiko chicken - Not bad, crunchy battered chicken. Interior of the chicken was juicy but lacking in that distinct strong sweet savory that mochiko chicken is known for. Again, the mac salad was a letdown. Overall, the food was quite average especially for the price point. I can think of two places in SJ with better Hawaiian food for half the price.
