It's not a quick fix journey and I'm still doing a lot of work day-to-day, but the work feels manageable and in so many ways "normal" in ways that before it felt so overwhelming and impossible. It's been great to join her Period Truth circles and meet with other women who are facing other struggles but who are in a similar place of seeking support, community + who are ready to empower themselves to do the work to change. I've needed this. She's helped me find my honesty about how I am being, what my needs are, and how to take my massive body "to do" list and break it down into bite size pieces that I can tackle a little bit at a time. Not only is she so well educated, but she's always learning more every time I bring up new symptoms and customizing my plan so that we can continue to see progress. Maybe my most favorite thing about working with Brittney has been that she's one of the first people who have helped me face the fears/overwhelm of my symptoms with compassion and is just so down to earth that I never feel insecure with telling her anything that I'm struggling with. Ashley played a variety of instruments that created a soothing atmosphere and helped deepen the meditative experience. I left feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected to myself. I must say that i sincerely, truly did not expect to feel anything after my first training sesson. And boy was i incorrect in my assesment of signing up for a training class with this woman or as i'd like to call her: "the pilates beast!" The amount of body control she has is unreal. I'm completely hooked, line and sinker with pilates now. And i stopped taking the pain medication since. Thank you kindly again Cynthia. This is NOT your run of the mill gym yoga studio, where you do 10-30 poses and stretches then leave, it's a place you can go to honor and treat yourself to some dedicated self care and also become part of a very authentic supportive community if you so desire. Not only is the studio perfectly put together with attention to detail in ambiance, but they also offer all of the props and tools you may need for class. It's been a place that I've been able to find sanctuary, peace and space to have time for myself to fortify, strengthen and love on myself -- A place I can fill my own cup so that I can go back and help others in my life too. The instructors are wonderful humans and this place is so so special.
