Being a nurse practitioner, I am pretty picky when it comes to beauty. I have tried several nail shops in town and after patients as well as Facebook reviews I decided to check out this new nail salon that opened up in my town. I went Friday Aug 23,2013 in the afternoon As I walk in the ladies were extremely professional. They were all welcoming and very very nice. The decor was beautiful and the salon was the cleanest salon I have been to. Cleanliness is huge for me as I have seen people get bacterial and fungal infections from dirty places. I was asked to pick a color, they have a wide variety. Today I wanted a pedicure, gel pink and white fill and wax. I was immediately sat to get my nails done . They all speak amazing English and they interact with you. They get to know you. This is important. The owner Mindy is extremely sweet, always checking on her clients. Honestly I have nothing bad to say. This is my new favorite spot. The professionalism and customer service by far was number 1. I liked that they were open on Sunday when other places weren't. The sign outside showed fair prices, but a basic mani/pedi with nothing extra (just polish, no gel or design) cost $47. The woman doing my pedicure noticed an ingrown nail on my second toe and offered to cut it...I said no. She proceeded to cut it anyway. A week later the toe is pink and tender. Now it's been two weeks and I am on a 10 day course of antibiotics to treat a pretty nasty infection. I am so sad to be writing this review. My main purpose is in the hopes that Mindy reads it and makes sure something like this doesn't happen again. I went in at 6:05 tonight and my pedicure was finished and my sandals back on by 6:20... And that time cost me $18? My toes soaked for about 3 mins. She clipped my nails but didn't use the cuticle pusher or clippers. She didn't clean around them. She scrubbed for less than a minute on each foot. Patted them dry. Lotion was a quick 2 minutes. Polished and then went to sit and play cards. My heart was broken. I work hard and wanted to spend my $ doing something nice for myself and this was what I got with my money. I couldn't even tell her I was frustrated because I just wanted to leave and cry. I'm not sure if I will return to Mindy's. That was one of the worst experiences I've had for a pedicure and my views have changed of this place that I used to really enjoy. read more

ZERO STARS!!!! Never in my entire life have I had such an AWFUL experience at a nail salon. Or any salon for that matter! Literally the WORST gel manicure and service I have EVER received! Im a super laid back person and am not one to complain usually, and I've never even written a yelp review before but I'm so furious about my wasted time and money and how poorly I was treated that it's well worth it to start! So I go in ask for 1 color to be put on all my nails and an accent glitter color to be put on my ring fingers I pick the glitter color I want and they proceed to tell me it's $5 more for that glitter because it's the glitter POWDER the lady tells me it's really nice and looks really pretty so I say why not and she proceeds to start on my nails. She does the first coat on each of my hands and has me stick them directly in the lamp. With the brief glance I get at my nails between pulling them in and out of the lamp I can tell I don't like the glitter. It's much more dense and bold than the one I picked originally. So I tell her I don't like it and it wasn't what I expected. She explains this to the lady who speaks better English and she gets really defensive and says "well didn't she ask U if its ok before U put your hand in the lamp??" I say " no she didn't she just had me stick it in there" and after a really uncomfortable convo w the two of them where I put my painted nail next to the display nail and show my manicurist the embarrassingly OBVIOUS difference between the two she finally goes and gets the color I ORIGINALLY ASKED FOR which was NOT a glitter powder just a gel polish she gets it right and puts the correct color on and I'm pleased. I'm sitting there thinking even if they were kinda rude it looks good now, no big deal. I'll probably even come back from time to time. She finishes I head to the front to pay for what should be a $15 gel color change which is what they quoted me before putting the gel glitter stuff. So I go up and she said that'll be $20. I then let her know that the glitter we ended up with that's a gel polish not a gel glitter so why would it be $20. She tells me "well U already had her put the other one on U and then had her take it off so it's still 5$ more!" I am FLOORED at this point. I tell her "that was her fault, she chose the wrong color. I didn't ask for that color and I even showed her the difference in what she put on and what I asked for!" We go back and forth for a little longer before I'm fed up and tell her that I'm gonna give her a $20 bill and she can choose whether to tip her manicurist or not. At which point she says fine it'll be $15! I just walked out before I got anymore upset. So obviously they purposely chose the gel glitter in order to try and charge me more when they had the color I asked for and knew that I asked for something different. INFURIATING! Then I get home and on closer inspection I realize that she didn't cover the edge of my nail so by the end of the day I guarantee they will chip. ALSO she put the thinnest layer of polish on that I have EVER seen. I get gels not only for the longevity of the color but for the added support it gives my nails. My nails feel almost as frail as they do with out the polish on at all! Im furious and if I lived closer( I live almost an hour away. I was near by visiting family) I would go back in there today and demand a refund that's how bad it is. Honest to god I'm not usually that type of person, I'm a hair stylist myself and understand how sucky it is to have a difficult client. But they did not give me a good service or even an average service. I will have to try and make it to my other nail salon here locally today to get them re-done so my nails don't chip and break ( I just had finally got them to a nice long length that I was so excited about!) Everyone was super friendly but mine and my friends nails were filed a bit uneven. I came for a mani and pedi and I loved the pedi. The paint job is good, it was just filed pretty evenly. I would come back for a pedi. MAYBE a mani if definitely needed. read more

Let me start by saying that the salon was clean and all of the staff was attentive and friendly. I was really excited while I was at the salon. I was there on a Tuesday morning and they were too busy to do my manicure and pedicure at the same time. Took me about 90 minutes. Like I said I got my nails done on Tuesday because I was going to Vegas for the weekend. By the time I got home on Sunday, every single one of my gel nails was chipped and my pedicure was already chipping too. I have been going to this place for a long time, but I have noticed that I keep getting charged a different amount for the same service. Well today I had a pedicure and added the $1 topcoat. My total at the register should have been $20, but when I went to pay Tommy said $22. I asked him" shouldn't it only be $20, and he answered right back "yes". First let me say I get a pedicure that lasts 1 month and a manicure that lasts a week. I wanted to find somewhere local and decided to try Mindy's. All services were done through a translator and I felt as if my nails were the client not me as a person. There was no eye contact and I had to climb over others belongings to get out. Very difficult to do with a knee problem. The place was clean which was a plus. However, the tools to work on my nails were in a drawer and after use was put back into her drawer. I wondered how many people she had used this on prior to me! Here is how it was done. 1. No base coat. 2 Two coats of color. 3. Paid a dollar for a top coat. 4. No hardener or quick dry coat. The results. Within 2 days the nail polish was peeling off in sheets. I am looking for another place and will not go back. Do not let them cut your cuticle as my regular manicurist says is a huge no-no! read more

I was referred to Mindys by my boss, I stopped by on the way home from work. I absolutely love how they worked.. They are a busy salon, so Yea Mindy runs around doing multiple things at a time but she owns the place what do you expect. I've never had a complaint. She always does exactly what I want and I come in with all sort of different request. All these negative reviews in my opinion are ridiculous! Jack does my moms nails and she loves him. Everyone that's done our pedicures has been amazing. Especially a huge factor my mom is DIABETIC and they are always super careful to not cut her!!! I would recommend Mindys to everyone. read more

Went to a nail salon down the street from here today which was offering a "$10 full set" (not sure what it's called, but it's next to the pet store and a dress shop), and they completely jacked up my nails. Filed my nails too short, got nail glue all around my fingers, and left my nails looking chunky as all hell. They also charged me $3 for choosing a color for my french tips. Oh, and you have to pay before they finish your polish. Don't go there, seriously. Two hours later while my friend was getting her hair cut next to Mindy's, I decided I couldn't handle the mess that was on my fingers and walked into this shop. Mindy greeted me and I asked how much to get my nails removed, which was $8. But since she told me it would hurt quite a bit, I decided to just let them try and save my acrylics. I was helped by a gentleman, didn't catch his name, but he seriously saved me from having an anxiety attack! He fixed my nails exactly how I wanted, the polish was quick drying, and the salon was really clean and professional. I spent $11 total and while I'm really happy with how my nails look now, I'll be going back in a week or so to get them removed and get a new set in a different shape. I'm really impressed with the service in this salon, and I'll definitely be back. read more

This place is sub-par at best. The guy who was working on my pedicure kept insinuating that I don't have to work for a living. This was irritating because it felt like more of a chore to explain my job to him than it was worth. I felt insulted right off the bat. When he was trimming my toes, he started trimming the skin on the pads of my toes. This left the skin extremely thin. It hurt to walk for about two days after my visit. There was a woman (Mindy maybe?) who kept rushing around and jumping in on everyone's manicures and pedicures. She may have been training on site or trying to make sure everything was being done at a certain standard, but it felt chaotic. She trimmed and filed my nails, then put a top coat on someone else's pedicure, then gave someone a hand massage. I noticed that she wasn't changing out her tools. This made me realize that I didn't recall the man working on my pedicure pulling fresh tools out of the sanitary packaging. That made my stomach churn. I haven't lost a toenail yet, so I'm assuming I didn't contract something. The final straw, and what prompted me to leave this review, was the way I was made to feel when I left my tip. The total came to $27. I wanted to leave $4. When I asked for a dollar back after giving the gentleman a $5 bill, he scoffed and made a huge production over giving me change. BEWARE!! THESE people are HORRIBLE! I don't know how they sleep at night, ripping ppl off!!! My husband sent me and my 5 year old for a pedicure for a Mother's Day gift! We were charged $86.00, I couldn't believe it! I was so mad and confused she tried to say she gave my 5 year old a 40.00 pedicure!!!! LIAR!!!! I've been going to Mindys for my gel manicures for a couple years now. I also occasionally get pedicures. I've had it done elsewhere before I discovered Mindys. I will never go anywhere else. Best customer service of any salon I've been to. The sisters are all very friendly and remember customers by name. I've been going to Tommy lately and I also love how he does my nails. Very detail oriented. When I ask him to come up with something to match an outfit or a color theme, he has always does a great job. The other salons I've been to in Yucaipa where either less clean, or I couldn't understand a word they said, or actually made my heels bleed all over my shoes from being too rough. I absolutely adore Mindy. I can't believe I haven't tried this spot sooner as it's right next to my gym. I walked in and was immediately greeted and seated for a manicure. She asked me what I wanted done , After showing her a photo she asked me a few more questions of what I wanted and then told me the exact price that I would be and said she wanted to communicate that before she started so there were no surprises. She was kind and friendly, making light conversation and was not pushy about my request or alterations. If I hesitated she replied that I should do whatever I was comfortable with but still offered her opinion without forcing anything. She accommodated the tv when children arrived and was attentive to everyone who walked in even though she was busy with a client. So I normally go elsewhere but my regular manicurist is on vacation and Im leaving in a couple of days to go out of state myself. My nails were needing to be filled so I decided to try this place. They are not natural looking.. but look like somethings glued onto your fingers. Mind you this was a "fill" not new nails. I picked a polish that looked to be a pale pink... well it wasn't. It looks like it might glow in the dark. I'll live with it until after my trip. I'm old school and like things natural looking.. this wasn't it. Not only that but the price without a tip was already more than I normally pay WITH the tip included. Nice man, but not so much with the nails and the cost. They're ok I give them 3 stars, the gentleman is nice but he's not that good. I prefer the owner to do my nails. She does a great job if you can get her. Horrible my husband wanted to do something special for our daughter turning 13 he took her in to get her nails done he has never gone to a nail salon before. He asked for a full set for her they started working on her and asked if she wanted Gel nail he asked is it more the lady said yes more never said how much more long story short they charged him $60.00 he called me right away and told me what happened I called the shop first asked how much for a full set she said $25.00 so I asked why did you just charge my husband $60.00. Her response was the shape was more and the gel was more but never told my husband how much more. I came into the nail salon around 10:30 for a pedicure for my daughter and I. We were greeted by a nice women who asked what I would like as suggested we pick my polish. We only waited about 5 minutes or so before I was seated and that when it went downhill. First I was placed in a chair that did not work so I had 2 of the roller balls from the chair in my back which made it very uncomfortable, so why use the chair? Then I waited about 10 more minutes to have a technician start my pedicure, I believe it must have been lunch time because everyone seemed to be preoccupied with that. The woman who did my pedicure did not introduce herself or even speak one word to me. I felt that the whole pedicure was rushed and even tired asking her to straighten my nail, since it was distinctly crooked, and she just looked at me blankly. So after this experience I would not waste my time or money for a sloppy and rushed job. read more
