I haven't been here for a long time. I moved out of town but used to come here all the time with my grandparents. I love their lo mein and so does my mom. The owners were always so nice to my grandparents that would go frequently for lunch. My grandma had Alzheimer's and they were always so kind to her and always remembered her favorite order and would bring her extra of her favorite sauce. Don't know anything about the food, but Friday night karaoke was pretty loud, crowded with locals, and one bartender at all by himself in the beginning trying to manage all the drinks. He was friendly and accommodating. Eventually, an Asian couple came out to assist when the crowd was maddening. Very hot inside with too many body heats emanating space, couldn't keep up with air conditioner. Karaoke was fun. I was setup to sing a duet, a solo and another duet - 3 in a row. Nice lady. Egg flower soup is creamy, fried rice is flavorful with body, sweet and sour chicken is the perfect consistency with good sauce, and lo mein is fantastic. They gave me donuts for free on top of that. I have been a member of yelp for years, only posted one review. But after my dinner tonight, had to say something. Against some negative reviews, a cab drivers warning about this "restaurant", we went. I was craving Chinese food. I have eaten this style of food in a food court in a mall and been satisfied, can't be that bad, right? Walk in, greeted by a filthy fish Aquarium. Only one other table of guest in the whole restaurant and we were seated at a table that was sticky and filthy. And we still ordered!? 1). Crab Rangoon was mild, if not cold. 2). General tao's chicken...to quote my friend having dinner with me, "chicken donuts!" Nothing but dough and little chicken "parts". Horrible flavor. 3). Honey Walnut Shrimp (personal fav). Arrived with cashews on it, not a walnut to be seen. Really odd and fishy flavor. Could not get past one shrimp. Disclaimer: I only went here once, and it was for the lunch buffet. Once was enough for me, though. So, I'm not claiming to actually have gone into their kitchen and checked, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Ming Court got a really good deal buying a ton of brown gravy mix. Maybe you're into that. Maybe your idea of a walk on the culinary wild side is putting snow peas in your boiled dinner. If so, you will love this place, because it is a temple to Insipidum, God of Blandness. They get an extra star because the place was clean and service was fine. That counts for something, I guess. And the white rice was totally everything white rice is supposed to be, so, nice job there guys. It'd probably be more fair of me to go back and order something off of the menu; perhaps they put a little more effort into stuff that won't be spending two hours in a steam tray. Honestly though, I'm not about to gamble on it here, as I walked out feeling like I'd just slurped up Asianized gruel. We had a terrific meal with gracious, wonderful service. The food was made fresh to order with quality ingredients. The Crab Rangoon and Mu Shu were great - as was the rest of our dinner. We arrived late on a Sunday night and were greeted warmly and served with prompt, friendly service. The outdoor appearance of the place, with neon beer signs, is not reflective of the classy, modern setting for the restaurant inside. Half of the building is their restaurant and the other half is their bar/lounge. Prices were quite reasonable. We will definitely be going back. read more

They use fresh ingredients (kept finding bits of chopped ginger) and don't rely on things like MSG, which they claim to not use. We are recent Walla Walla transplants from Southern California, and were so happy to finally eat some decent Chinese food. When we feel like Chinese food delivery this is the only place we call. Consistently good food and decent prices! It's not gourmet people - it's not P.F. Changs for crying out loud! Beware that another local joint is advertising their phone number as "Ming's Chinese Court" and you'll get the nasty food we got by mistake once - always double check when they answer the phone you're getting the right place! Not being from anywhere near Walla Walla, we had no clue where to get any chinese food, let alone good chinese. Thankfully I found very good reviews of Ming's Court and so we headed there. The outside was nothing special, but once through the doors it was very nice with modern decor and with prompt and pleasant service. It was also very clean-no sticky tables here! LOL! The food was REALLY, REALLY good. Not greasy. Very flavorful, cooked to order and you get a good amount of it too. In fact, neither of us could finish our meals. The prices were very reasonable too. The only negative I can say is the we had to pay extra for fried rice instead of steamed. We had the Moo Goo Gai Pan chicken and General Tao's chicken. Both SO YUMMY! read more

We used Ming Court for catering (take out for large groups) and they lost our order (two dishes, added up to $100+) . Then they denied that they had lost it even though we had called them 2 weeks before and then called again a few days before to confirm. The guy sat us down and made us wait 30-45 minutes until the food was done and then did not offer a discount. Being a professional event that we used them for, we require a professional restaurant to cater, so we will not be using them again. The food is not bad, but the staff is not easy to work with, especially if you are ordering for catering/takeout for large groups. read more

I don't know what the other people have ordered that this place has low stars. I have been there several times and I've loved everything. And the service has been excellent. I brought my whole family one night when they were visiting. We all ordered something different and it was all fantastic. Now a little disclaimer is that I love and grew up on American Chinese, so I'm not claiming it's anything authentic. But good quality American Chinese? Yes! It is now September 2011 and just to update my last review, we still go to Ming Court on Isaacs St. every Firday night for dinner. (over two years now averaging almost once a week). The food is still consistantly great. It's always hot, fresh and very tasty. Usually it is brought quite quickly unless it's busy. Then the wait is normal for a fresh-made-dishes restaurant. The appetizers come out fast. No other reasonably priced restaurant we've found is as consistantly great as is Ming Court. (OK. You usually can't go wrong at Claret's, either.) While there may be some things people don't like anywhere, they shouldn't order them. My father in law doesn't like rice. I don't like spicy dishes. So we don't eat what we don't like. That's why Ming Court's so great. We all order different things and all share in most. We look forward to our Friday night dinners at Ming Court. And, the drinks are great, as well. I've been to Mings twice once for the buffet and it was ok the chinese buffet place in Plaze so much better everything was bland and just kinda yucky but this was quite a while back so I thought i'd give them another try so I ordered take out boy oh boy the only thing I did think was ok was the sweet and sour chicken the almond chicken I got was soggy and gross I got pot stickers because I normally love them but they had a strange texture on the inside and just weren't good at all. The egg flower soup had lots of corn chunks in it and I thought this was gross i'm not a corn person all in all never again I went to the modern the next week and although their customer service wasn't the best their food was awesome read more

Disappointed. Ordered chicken chow mien, almond chicken, and two beers. The chow mien was 80% onions, 10% celery and 5% carrots and noodles. The 5% chicken was preprocessed (not fresh) and mushy. The almond chicken was actually a southern fried chicken patty with white gravy and bread crumb topping. I was told twice by the owner that the gravy was almond "flavored" and that the bread crumb topping had almond dust in it. Apparently southern fried chicken patties are customary local fare. As for the beer, it was served cold from the tap. However, when I asked why I was charged full price for the beer during happy hour, I was told that happy hour prices only applied to two of the four domestic taps. No signs, no drink menu, no indication anywhere in the bar that happy hour prices were limited to Bud and Coors only. Ming Court was recommended by friends. My experience might be unusual considering the high marks represented herein. I'm concerned though that we may have been duped by reviews written by restaurant employees and/or family and friends of the owner. I will not recommend Ming Court simply because I feel that their menu and staff do not honestly represent the food and drink served. Shame on them. read more
