There aren't any other Hawaiian restaruants in the Walla Walla area that I know of, so if you want to get your island grub on, this is your only option. I've been here twice and each time, I've found the food a bit over-cooked and over-salted. My first time, I ordered the Loco Moco, the patty was a bit burned, so it had a charred flavor (but not the good one), I do appreciate they use a char-broiled grill vs. a flat top. My second visit I ordered the chicken teriyaki (which is a popular selling item here). The chicken itself had some great moist cuts, but about half were (once again) overcooked and dry. Additionally, I found the teriyaki marinade on the salty side. I can say they are very generous with their portions. And the staff were friendly. But I don't think I'll be making another visit any time soon. read more

I am writing my review based on my remembrance of this food from 10 years ago, as every time I visit Walla Walla they are closed. I am so disappointed that they aren't open any weekend days, or Monday. This was my absolute favorite food in Walla Walla when I was a student, but I haven't had it since. The lobby being closed is also very odd, coming from Idaho where COVID was over 3 years ago. The ambiance of Hawaii was part of the allure, which I used to thoroughly enjoy. Great place, a little unusual to see a drive thru order system, but compared to seeing price increases to staff up a dining room, I'll deal with it. All the tastes are right, smells were good, visuals were good. Food was ample, they had the Hawaiian Sun drinks. The Mac salad had a complicated flavor pallet, a little busy, but good. The smoke flavor came from fire, not a bottle, and all the meats tasted and looked house cooked. Exterior seating was a tad warm in the heat of the day, but an early lunch or dinner would be just right. Good choice for a casual meal. read more

Best flavor ever! The manager or owner (I'm guessing) is straight to the point when order, which I like. Food is timely when ordering. The flavor is so great! I'm giving it a 2 star just because you can taste that the chicken is not cooked to order, it is dry and burnt (difference between grilled and burnt on the outside) causing it to be super dry. You are only given one amazing sauce cup but with the dry chicken you need three. Complaint I'm getting at is dry chicken. Has always been dry every time I go and I drive 45 minutes to go here hoping I'll get fresh chicken instead of precooked chicken and putting it on the grill and sauce it up read more

I really wish we had the option to give half stars.. My real vote is 2.5 not great not horrible. I have gone to Tiki Teriyaki multiple times over the years. In the beginning it was a great little place. But it has progressively gotten worse over the years. Which is very sad and also why I go less and less. This is the first time I've been in over a year. Tonight's dinner was okay for me, but my friends chicken was burnt. Which is crazy since we both ordered the exact same thing. The teriyaki chicken. I've become accustomed to the fact the service is slow. It's not a good thing, but it is what it is. Tonight what bugged me about the service was the lady at the counter, who has been there forever, was just not in a good mood I guess. She never smiled. She never actually did anything but take orders and play on her phone. Meanwhile the teenage girl with the super short shorts (which seems very unprofessional) was delivering delivering food. I didn't really notice anyone bussing tables. So there was plates left around. I know the lady at the counter saw it. Because she made a comment to the girl in the short shorts about a dirty table. Not really sure why she couldn't walk around the counter and help. Since there was nobody waiting in line to order and it was kind of a quiet night. Just seems really lazy to me. I can't say enough about this great place to get yourself a real Hawaiian Style Plate Lunch! I haven't had a plate lunch this good sense I was on Maui! It was a beautiful hot sunny day when I took my friend to lunch for her 60th birthday. She has not yet been to Hawaii and I told her that with the warm weather it looked, smelled, tasted, and felt as though we were in Hawaii! The entire restaurant is just like being at many of the places we have gone on the four largest islands of Hawaii. The Tiki pole with the "Mahalo" sign, photos, decor, menu, and laid back atmosphere is all a Hawaiian paradise! The restrooms are large and spotless! The inside seating area is nicely arranged with both high and low seating. The painted beach theme murals are well done and add a fun flair. The menus are written up in large EZ to read colorful printed letters on big chalkboards, that include a detailed description of each item. The food selections are many as they have more on the menu than just plate lunch. Warning, the servings are large! You order at the counter and the friendly efficient staff deliver your food to your table. They have a nice area where you can refill your water and get as much reg/spicy teriyaki sauce as you like. We decided to sit outside in the shade of one of their umbrella tables. The chairs and tables were clean and comfortable. The entry and outdoor dinning area are very well decorated and spotless! We both got the Island combo of 2 meats (we chose chicken & beef) for $15.85. It cost a few dollars more than choosing one type of meat, but, it looked like they gave two full serving of meat! They cook on an open flame grill and "allow the flavors to permeate the meat before they hit the grill". When the nice man delivered our food it came with a generous scoop of cold creamy macaroni salad, two large scoop of hot tender white rice and we could smell the mouth watering open-flame grilled teriyaki infused chicken and beef before the plates hit our table top! The house made teriyaki sauce was the best I have ever tasted!!!! We packed ~2/3 of our food in to go boxes as we were getting full. We both gave our lunch a 5, great tasting food, perfect temperatures, really big serving size, and quality! After eating and visiting for a bit we decided to get out of the heat and have dessert inside. As it was my friends birthday and we decided to split a dessert. Good thing we did, it was huge! We ordered the $5.25 Pineapple Delight, and delighted we were! The cold rich ice cream was smothered in sweet heavy whipped cream sprinkled with ground macadamia nuts, smooth caramel sauce pooled in the bottom, set with a perfectly grilled slice of pineapple at each of the four corners of the cute pineapple bowl. There were two spoons. We were two shocked women, when the nice lady set it down between us! We tried to finish it, but, there was no way we could, it was more of a dessert for four people. My friend said it was wonderful! I loved it too! We gave it a unanimous 5+! ...........................Menu descriptions..................... Great Hawaiian food in huge portions. I love the fact that the entire restaurant is decked out in a Hawaiian atmosphere too. All they need are a few Luau dancers and some alcoholic mixed drinks! We had the Luau-style Kalua pig, which was pretty much tasty pulled pork over rice with some cabbage and mac on the side. Definitely recommend adding some of the teriyaki sauces to spice this up a bit, although the meat itself had a great flavor. We also had the Loco Moto, which is like a burger topped with an egg, coated with gravy over rice. 4000 calories of deliciousness. Another great food option in Walla Walla. read more

Tried this. Ordered chicken. Definitely smoked teriyaki, wasn't overwhelming. Just a hint to your tongue. Loved it! Came with rice and macaroni salad, which I felt was a bit much on starch. But I loved the chicken. The smoothie I got was thick and substantial. Sometimes a good meal causes me stress. Because I have to decide which "taste" I want "last" in my mouth. Well, I couldn't decide if I wanted the taste of the teriyaki chicken or the smoothie to be "last" in my mouth and as I write this, I am still deciding..... I hardly give out one star but the food and service was horrible. I always enjoy Hawaiian barbecue food so our group of four decided to check it out. We came in at about 1pm on a Saturday and I liked the variety on the menu. We ordered quickly since no one was really in line but then waiting about an hour to receive our food. We were about ready to cancel our order when our food started to come out. I saw earlier reviews stating the service was a little slow but the food was great. That was the complete opposite of our experience. All the meats were incredibly dry which requires lots of teriyaki sauce and water to get down and the mac salad had no flavor whatsoever. I was very happy to try this spot and get some Hawaiian style teriyaki. I had the loco moco and chicken/shinier ribs combo with an extra side of mac salad. They make the food to order and it was served hot off the grill. Flavor profile was nice, hit the mark, and met expectations for this food style. Sweet and savory Portions will fill you up. The loco moco ended up being two meals for me which was a nice bonus. We did call in our order ahead and it was ready for pick up in 30 minutes. Changing my review. Paid $22 for a 3 meat. Always would get two chicken one rib. Extra scoop of rice instead of slaw/Mac what ever it is. The portions where a good size, so they would put the extra scoop of rice on the side because you got a good amount of chicken and food in the 1 box. Last couple times the portions are way smaller. Everything comes in one box, you get almost 3 rib strips and a little chicken. Definitely not worth 30min wait and $22. read more

FIRST things FIRST...the food here is pretty amazing (FIVE STAR FOR SURE)!! The flavor and the cuts of meat are wonderful. The rice is always cooked perfectly & the mac salad they serve is the only one I've ever liked. The portions are generous! My husband and I can never finish our plate. There's plenty of left overs for an entire meal the next day. The only reason I can't give this place a 5 start review is due to my experience with the cashier. She is always there & never happy to take your order. We have been in many times, and I can't say I've ever seen her smile. This is one of my go to places in Walla Walla. The food is always so good and has never really changed all the years I've eaten there. Some downsides are the hours they are open. No weekends and they close pretty early, but if it's open and you are thinking about going, I highly recommend it. The wait can be pretty long, but if your in a hurry order ahead of time and pick it up in the drive through! They are a bit pricey (nothing that breaks the bank) but the portions are big and I've seen Hawaiian food a lot pricier. read more

Food is great but I just can't stand the experience of getting it. Phone is always busy and the drive-through is for phone ahead orders only (except drinks). The middle aged lady who seems to run the place takes no joy in her interactions with customers and makes me feel like an inconvenience at the window, on the phone, and face to face back when they would actually let us inside. Amazingly authentic Hawaiian entrees, lunch plates and drinks. Their food is cooked per order and they slow BBQ a pig on site Tuesdays weekly. The ambiance is mellow, with acoustic music, good lighting and a comfortable seat. Definitely not the typical cafeteria style that usually comes with authentic cuisine at this price point. We usually go for the meat combo plates, The Big Kahuna is big enough for a couple to share, but get an extra side of of the macaroni salad because its creaminess pairs the the sweet meat perfectly and it really only serves one. Our #1 meat favorite is a toss up between the Chicken Katsu (super moist and the dipping sauce is off the hook) and the Kalbi Beef Spare Ribs; the pulled Kalua pork is a close #2. Honestly this should be a five star rating. The restaurant is fantastic, the recipes are solid and they have cornered a niche market in a small town. Two things held me back from giving a five star review. The meat quality at the end of the evening was tough and the Kalbi ribs had almost no meat on them at all. Lunch time is much better Ono grind for sure. The ladies behind the counter weren't overtly friendly. They come across as very short and like making our order was an inconvenience. read more

The 3 star review comes from the conclusion that the food is great and the service not so. That place has been there 3 plus years and I'm still waiting for a different seating arrangement to happen. Plus more tables! I have seen on a few occasions future customers walking in, seeing that all seats are taken and leave. There's improvement needed on the dining room plus the food needs to come out faster. The staff could be a bit more friendly, but then again we are living in the age of not-so-great customer service. If a little bit more of thinking and caring went into this establishment, I'm pretty sure they could make their customers happier which in turn would benefit their profits. read more

I really like this place, they serve Hawaiian plate lunches in regular and large sizes. Each comes with sides of rice and mac salad. I have to give it to them, the mac salad is better than others I've had. The kalbi ribs are delicious and the crispy garlic chicken is one of my new favorites. When they're in season they also have asparagus stir fry specials that are yummy. The chicken katsu isn't my favorite but its okay, the dish can be a hit or miss for me anyway. They also serve chicken stir fry, wings, tacos and burgers. To help with the Hawaiian vibe the place is decked out with Hawaiian scenes and souvenirs. They also have cans of Hawaiian Sun that I usually can't pass up. They have a snow cone machine but its been out of order for a bit but I haven't tried it. read more
