Neither one of us wanted to cook so we had the genius inspiration to spin the dial and take pot luck among area choices. The dial stopped at Stone Hut. We were seated quickly and got our waters quickly. Beverages? Nope, not so much. Our orders were not a problem. Her food was fine. My shrimp basket? Ummm, not so much. The photos pretty much tell the story of very small shrimp wrapped in gigantic overcoats. Had I only known, I might have gone with a burger or something, instead. The food was pretty much a mixed bag. The service was okay but not much to write home about. All in? I rarely leave negative reviews--especially about service--because I've worked as a server for over 6 years and truly understand the stress and fast pace that comes with the job. However, I felt compelled to share our experience tonight. It was a Friday evening, and I was really looking forward to enjoying a nice dinner out with my family. Unfortunately, our visit was disappointing. It took nearly 50 minutes for our food to arrive, and we had only ordered four burgers--simple dishes that typically don't take too long. Our server wasn't updating and communicating on how our food was. All knowledgeable servers should communicate and tell their tables how long a wait is for food especially if it's going to be over 45 minutes. When the meals finally came out, the fries were overly greasy, as if they had just come out of the fryer and hadn't been drained properly. The excess oil even soaked into the bottom of the burgers, which made them soggy and unappetizing. I understand that busy nights can lead to delays, but the quality and timing of the food left a lot to be desired. I'm hoping this was just an off night, because I truly wanted to have a better experience. read more

In town for a few days and decided to grab a bite to eat somewhere close to the hotel. This place is very divey, but a great place to sit, relax and eat. Our server was great (and graciously) split our check for us after dinner. Good selection of food and drinks (beer, wine, cocktails, etc). We focused on the HH menu and we were not disappointed. Came here for a quick lunch this week. Love their gluten free buns. I get a BLT without the bacon on a gluten free bun and add cheese and onion to make it a veggie sandwich. My mom got the fried mushrooms which are one of her favorites. Service is always friendly and fast. Can be busy for lunch and right after work. Lots of TV's to watch sports on. read more

I have been going here for years and tonight I decided on their Hot Buttered Nutter drink with a cup of chowder and salad. It was the worst experience I have sadly had. My drink was like warm and nothing to brag about, the chowder was also like warm and clumpy, and the salad had browned lettuce. The waitresses also didn't do anything to compensate besides wanting to bring something new in replacement. I mean why would I agree to that if nothing that was brought out to begin with, besides the water, I as good quality food. I hope things will be different next time since I do love going here for the turkey salad and Long Islands. But it will be a while before I give them another chance. read more

I usually always go to a local bar any state, city etc I go to, I choose a bar and go get a drink & leave my server a great tip. I was once a server myself so I like to bless those who work hard for their money. I unfortunately lost my ID in an out of state trip, so all I had with me was my old ID & my paper from the Washington state license department, showing my renewal of ID. I went in and ask ahead of time before sitting if they accepted it a nice waitress told me yes, so I sat down. As I'm sitting down waiting to order my drink, a waitress black hair, glasses, thinner side, older women approached me VERY RUDE and once asked I had been seen and I said no, she rolled her eyes and snatched my ID and paper, went to the back and did nothing basically came back to me and very uncalled for told me she wasn't taking it after I had been told it was fine, said I have the right to refuse, YET the coworker told me it was fine which was the entire reason why I even sat down. I try to explain how the license place told me as long as I had the document and an identification I would be allowed to use it . She cuts me off and starts being extremely unprofessional and rude. I just wanted to go in get a shot, leave them a nice tip as I do anywhere I go, instead they made a terrible impression and do not recommend it. Or at least not that waitress. read more

We were in Walla Walla and besides fast food there was almost nothing open due to Covid. I noticed on yelp The Stone Hut was open, so we gave them a try. The food is what you'd expect from a bar and grill, my Rueben and fries were on point, my friends salad was too. Every other booth is closed as well as the seating at the bar, so it's good social distancing. Every employee practiced every safety protocol. Friendly service, laid back atmosphere, good food and dog friendly. It was a win in our books.

We are visiting Walla Walla this weekend and didn't want to eat in a restaurant due to the pandemic. We found this great place online which was close to our hotel and even had delivery. My wife has a gluten sensitivity so finding a place that provides good gluten free options is tough. I had the Brisket au jus with an add of Cougar Gold cheese and it was superb! The sandwich was still warm enough so that the cheese was still melty with sautéed mushrooms and grilled onions! The tater tots were crispy but I am sure they would have been better just out of the fryer but can't complain because it was delivery! My wife had the BLTA and she loved the gluten free bun as it did not fall apart and was a good compliment to the sandwich! Her fries were not as good as they could have been in the restaurant but again this was delivery! Great place we will patronize again! read more

Well we couldn't even get through the door. We asked if it would be OK to bring our severely disabled 26 year old daughter inside while we had a bite to eat. She is in a wheelchair and feeds through a tube, so she wouldn't be eating or drinking just hanging out with her parents. The establishment said because we didn't have proof she was 21 we couldn't bring her inside. Their loss our gain. We went to the Red Monkey where we were greeted by friendly staff that went out of their way to serve us and made us and our daughter feel Welcome! Shame on you Stone hunt. Been twice. First time we had great food. Two kinds of Mac & cheese, a burger, onion rings and fried gizzard. Great service. Second time Mac & cheese was extremely overcooked and mushy, pizza was buried in olives and the sauce tasted like cheap canned spaghetti sauce. Onion rings were still great. As was the service. This is probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. Stopped in Walla Walla for work and had to work late. I found Stone Hut Bar accidentally. I ordered delivery to my hotel room and had warm food within 20 mins. I ordered a Swiss burger with country fries. They forgot to include the country gravy with the order. A young lady named Yvette called me to apologize and offered me "bucks". Honestly, had she not called me, I would have never noticed there was something missing. I am very impressed with their customer service. I think that's important in any business. Will be back in town again soon and will visit this establishment. read more

I've been to stone hut multiple times and the food is allllllllllways amazing. The drinks are to die for and very unique. I would have given 5 stars but the last few times we have been there esp this last time 8/17/119 our food took forever. apparently my wrap was given to someone else so our waitress apologized and offered to remake my husbands burger while we wait i said no bring it. He ate while i waited about another 3 min nothing bad. After dinner our waitress said she was talking to her manager to either get us big dog bucks, a discount or feee drinks. None happened and she dropped off our check like it was nothing. We didn't bring it up because we felt it wasn't our responsibility but it may be a while til we head back honestly. read more
