Wanted to try this place for takeout since I work about 5 minutes away, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the General Tso's chicken lunch special with fried rice and wonton soup, along with an order of crab rangoons. Everything was delicious! The rangoons were crispy with a great filling, and the wonton soup had really nice flavor and was actually piping hot -- something you surprisingly don't get from a lot of Chinese restaurants. The General Tso's chicken and fried rice were also fresh and hot. The only small things I'd change would be including sweet and sour sauce for the crab rangoons and adding fried noodles with the soup, since neither came with the order and typically come with Chinese takeout orders at other restaurants! Not a huge deal though. Service was quick and accurate -- I was told 15 minutes over the phone, and my order was ready exactly on time. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place for takeout and I'm already looking forward to eating the leftovers for lunch tomorrow and ordering from here again in the future! read more

I ordered House Fry Rice and when I opened it it had a funny greasy smell and the rice looked like Spanish Rice. I started going there 2 years ago and the food was fresh smelled great. It's not the same at all they might have changed cooks or owners but the is gone down in quality. read more

Tried here after my usual spot stated the did not have snow peas for shrimp and snow peas. Fried Wonton and Fried Dumplings were so much better than the other spot that seems to have changed in the last few years. Shrimp and Snow Peas seemed overly salty but will definitely try again based on the other items. read more

I heard very good things about this Chinese restaurant, but it sure did disappoint. The steamed dumplings and egg roll were just ok, The General Tao's Chicken was horrible. The breading was wet and soggy, the sauce was runny and had no flavor. I couldn't eat it, threw it out. So disappointed. We will not be back. read more

After being disappointed or priced out by the Chinese restaurants closest to me I decided to try Ming Garden even though it was a bit farther of a drive. Walking in the restaurant was very clean and had plenty of room. The staff that rung me up was friendly and quick. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken lunch special with an egg roll. The pork fried rice was nothing special, but when I bit into the chicken it was the best I could remember having in a long time. The meat was delicious and there was no gristle like you get at some other places. The sauce was delicious and the breading still had a crisp even after being covered in sauce. Good local American Chinese. Consistently good food from a clean environment. I love their boneless spare ribs, dumplings, sesame chicken, and all of the other staples of a good Chinese restaurant. The chicken is actually white meat chicken and the meats are not suspect like other places I've been. After moving away from the area I have not been able to find an Americanized Chinese food restaurant like this one. Food is better than most of the local places however the service is virtually non existent ! Don't expect any one to come to your table and fill your water glass or your meal to be served fifteen minutes after ordering! Horrific service. We placed order online at 4:45 PM and were quoted 20 minute wait time arrived on time.. waited 45 minutes. When asked about order status we were told "we got too busy and stopped processing online orders at 5 pm. " Then we were told if you want to place a new order it will take 90 minutes . I rarely write reviews on Yelp, but I feel the need to stand up for this business. First of all, Americanized Chinese is a cuisine. It's not what one eats in China, no, but it has its own history and generations of Americans have enjoyed it. There's no need to be elitist about it. Most Italians wouldn't recognize the stuff served around here either, but nobody gets uppity about it. That said, Ming's version of this cuisine is the best in the area. A good solid Chinese takeout place is the first thing we look for when we move. We tried a few and they were fair, but Ming's was the best. It's consistent, friendly, fast and really affordable. Plus, they always have coupons, which is nice. Food-wise, we enjoy the sweet and sour chicken (always crispy), egg rolls, wonton soup (offered as a soup choice with the lunch special, which I appreciate), dumplings, Szechuan wontons and beef with garlic sauce. They over-fill the containers with the sweet and sour chicken. Even the small order is generous. Service is excellent. Everyone who answers the phone is pleasant and they've never gotten our order wrong. It never takes them longer than ten minutes to prepare our order. What more can you ask for? Anyone who knows Chinese food knows there's an excellent authentic Chinese restaurant nearby. If that's what you're looking for, go there. But if you want standard piping-hot Americanized Chinese food with good quality meat, large portions and great service, go to Ming's. We order here all the time. (Also, because I'm kind of food phobic I'll just let you know we've never gotten sick from eating here. Hate to even mention it, but that's something I look for in Yelp review, so there ya go.) P.S. I have been coming here since I moved to PA from NY 14 years ago, and it is by far my local favorite. You get a LOT for the money, extremely high quality food, and a really comfortable inside restaurant. My wife and I recently moved away (to Phoenixville) but we still go out of our way to get food when you can. We are huge fans of the delicious dumplings, and General Tsos. Food was below average and service was extremely slow. My chicken with cashew order was much sweeter and saltier than at other restaurants. The restaurant is spacious and generally clean. Unfortunately, dishes sat on several tables uncleared throughout our meal. It seems they cater first to carry out orders while eat-in customers wait to be served. I know a lot of people like Tang's Garden...and they must have really changed since I first ate there in '03, because they were flat-out mediocre. Ming...is wonderful. Everything is good. And I've eaten there for almost 10 years now, so I've tried a lot. The lo-mein is good. The General Tso's is excellent (crispy on the outside, soft on the inside). I even like the egg-foo-young. And the hot and sour soup should not be missed. The service is always spot-on and very polite and you can't beat the lunch special. Tons of food for no money.
