We have been ordering from China Star for YEARS. We ordered from them quite loyally. The food was always delivered amazingly fast. We always seemed to have the same driver and the people who took our order could cope with our strangely named street. This time our food was delivered by Uber. It took more than twice the longest delivery time we have ever experienced. When I tried to communicate with the driver over the phone he had to enlist the services of a translator. He could not find my apartment and I had to walk to the other side of our complex to get the order. China Star- tell me that your driver was sick or something. If this is a permanent state of affairs you have lost a good customer. read more

I'm pretty happy I went here. Been going across town to another Chinese/sushi place. That place I stretched to 4 stars but they are a little over priced. China Star is priced right and the sushi is fabulous. I definitely have to try their Chinese food sometime. The place is more of a "takeout " place. There is some seating but it's limited and atmosphere is so-so. But we live nearby so it's easy enough to get it home. I always order a spicy tuna to benchmark. The taste was fresh; color paler than other places. But I don't think that's a bad thing. Shrimp tempura roll is combined w avocado which gives it a creamy texture. read more

This is our favorite take out Chinese. Our go tos are egg rolls, cheese wontons, chicken fried rice, chicken lo mein. This time we also got General Tso's and sesame chicken. Everything arrived hot, via door dash. The fried rice is yellow rice, lo mein has quite a bit of veggies in it, the sauces with everything are really well flavored. I totally forgot pics this time. Fried shrimp or supposed to be sweet-and-sour shrimp they were raw didn't notice till 3 shrimp in. pork fried rice is all little fat cubes of not deliciousness. Pretty impressed! After a few visits I've had California rolls, spare ribs, Four Seasons, egg roll, spring roll, wonton soup, house lo mein, and house chow mein. My only complaint is a minor one in that when I request "ridiculously spicy" I received "zero spicy". Everything tastes fresh as it should. Efficient service, as well. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Food was burnt and when asked for a refund I was met with disrespect and told no to $5.78. When another employee which I assumed was the manager stepped in and told her to give me a refund my money was thrown on the counter. After that voices were raised and the delivery box felt a need to defend the woman by getting in my face as if he wanted to get physical. Last time I ordered and forgot to take the lock off my card and I forgot to change my number on the account (online ordering), so they drove to my house just to tell me it wasn't going through! Owner of the restaurant decided to have driver do 8 delivery's at once tonight. Went almost an hour away from where we live, and owner wanted to give us food that was sitting in cold car for an hour. Called and asked for new food and owner was unhappy about customer not wanting the cold food after waiting 1.5 hours for the food. Delivery couple is super sweet and felt really bad that they had to rush back and forth. Overall poor customer service tonight. read more

Not a fan. Everything was hot (delivery) but the chicken was soggy, the beef had a weird texture, the broccoli was rubbery. Ordered a fried rice also that was good enough but all the shrimp was sitting on top, so it looked like a decent amount of shrimp in it but there were none throughout and rather than asking if we wanted white rice (since we'd ordered fried rice) they also gave us two white rice containers with our orders. Just seems like a waste to me. Tried the sushi also. Anyone who says they have the best in the area must be used to supermarket sushi. No thanks. No need to go back. read more

This place is not for me. The food was average, and not very hot. It was not bad, but very unremarkable. I usually order the same thing from a restaurant or take out (i.e. cheeseburger, or in this case Gen Tso's chicken) to get an apples to apples comparison. It was not exciting at all. It's great to have the option for their delicious Chinese food or their very fresh sushi, or both of everyone in the family wants something different! My husband and I tried China Star for the first time tonight and we both liked the food and would order from here again. We ate in and when my Kung Pao Chicken arrived at our table, the chicken was battered/breaded, which I was not expecting. My face must have shown it because the owner asked if it is Ok. I explained that I was not expecting the chicken to be battered and she re-made the Kung Pao Chicken for me with strips of chicken, with no problem. They did not charge anything for re-making it and I appreciated that. My husband ordered General Tso's Chicken and he said he was very pleased with it and a lot of places around here don't have great General Tso's Chicken. Looks like a murder may have taken place here at one time, BUT... they churn out awesome, fresh, properly seasoned, surprisingly non greasy Chinese food and... well... OK sushi. We love this place. They deliver our food in about a half an hour and it's always piping hot. We've ordered the lunch specials a few times and it is a large quantity of food. The sushi is a new addition and is fresh and delicious. The hot and sour soup is so very good too! I don't bother with any other Chinese restaurants since we've found this one. So at the urging of my husband we ordered here again. Give it another chance, he said. Ordered lunch specials, husband went to pick it up. Brought it home, wrapped nicely in brown paper bag which he didn't open before leaving the restaurant. Opened it up. No soup or soda, as specified in the menu that comes free with lunch. Called them back. "Well you didn't tell me which one you wanted." was the reply. Are you kidding me? You didn't specify so we didn't ask and you got nothing. Found a large piece of a zip tie in my lo mein tonight... definitely won't be eating food from this place again.

The food is pretty good but the restaurant has gone downhill a bit the past few years. There are children's toys scattered about the restaurant on a regular basis. The child was running around barefoot the last 2 times I was in there and the tables look greasy and sticky and the glass door at the entrance needs cleaning. If they would take more time and care with the restaurant, they might get more dine in customers. The restaurant is no place for a toddler to reside on a regular basis. read more
