Worst customer service ever!!! Wow!
Nowadays, people only go to travel agencies because 1. they're traveling internationally with multiple stops; 2. they're too lazy or there's a time crunch; or 3. they still haven't figured out what the internet is. You'd think that with the popularity of online booking and with the craptastic economy, customer service would be a priority, right?
Not here. Let me preface the rest of the review by saying that when I walked into the travel agency, I didn't have high expectations in terms of customer service since, it's Chinatown, and well, customer service isn't a priority. here..but I was kinda shocked by what happened next.
I walked in a few days ago looking for price quotes for a multi-city trip through Southeast Asia during the Christmas season. There were two women at the desk and they were both on the phone. I wasn't acknowledged or anything like that, which is totally fine and expected. 15 minutes later, one of the women get off the phone and says "What?" Okie...
So I start off with, "I'm going to several cities for Christmas, first stop is Manila..." She cuts me off with a "NO!" Then she turns back to her computer and starts typing something without saying anything else. Not quite sure what that "No" meant, I continued on with my other dates and cities. She then interrupted me again and said, "I said, NO! You think you can get tickets now for Christmas??? It's peak season. Sorry, you should have come several months ago."
If this had been the first travel agency I had gone to look for tickets, I MIGHT have accepted that statement. However, I had just come from 4 other travel agencies with price quotes in hand and they all told me that although it was peak season, there were still tickets available. So I just stared her, not quite sure what to say. For real? You're not even going to pretend to check? So I asked, can you at least check for me? The response:: "I don't have to. I said, NO!"
Dang. You are a rude woman who will never have my business.
On a sidenote, if any of you Yelpers decide to use them, I learned a tip while listening in on their conversations while I was waiting for someone to help me. Apparently, if you pay by cash, they'll give you discount. read more
