Went to celebrate my birthday at Mingxia. Good food. They were out of all the dumplings since they were super busy from the weekend. Will need to come back to try the pan fried dumplings. The baos were excellent. The bread was fluffy and tasty. The noodles were chewy and there were a good amount of shrimp in the dish. The lamb skewers were delish. The restaurant was very tidy and clean. Service was amazing. Susan was efficient and pleasant. Will definitely return to try the other dishes. We had a very good time.

Sometimes we have meals that we know will become a core memory, and I had that experience today! Not only was all of the food incredibly delicious, but the staff were so attentive and sweet. First, I had the wontons in chili oil which were great (and not too spicy for me). Then I tried both the lamb and beef skewers, which were seasoned to perfection and totally juicy. I also ordered the pork soup dumplings because I wanted to try them. The manager was kind enough to sit with me and explain how to make my personalized dumpling sauce, as well as how to properly eat a soup dumpling. The kindness of the staff and amazing quality of the food made this an irreplaceable experience for me. I can't wait to bring people here to try it!

This spot was so amazing! The service was Great and very helpful with understanding the menu . The food was so delicious, i loved the lamb skewers so much ! When I say delicious, I mean delicious! The ambiance had that family vibe to it . I felt like family when I walk in the door. The pork belly skewers were good. The soup dumplings w/ crab meat & pork was fire !!! If you are in the area please check them out ! Thank you Mingxia Dumpling for a great experience and see you soon.

I remember the fond smell of the street food that filled the air after my many travels to China. I remember the piping hot dumplings that came out after each order and the explosion of flavors that came after each bite. The dumplings that I had at Mingxia Dumpling are the closest to matching those memories. The dumplings were made to order. You can even watch the owner make each dumplings right in front of you which is a nice touch. Service was exceptional. They were busy and they did their best to check on everybody and get tables cleaned for the people that were waiting outside. The servers were also knowledgeable about the menu and even provided their own recommendations. I will be coming back again.

Handmade and fresh! Absolutely delicious and worth the wait. They were out of the shrimp dumplings so I have to go back. Lots of things were crossed off the menu. They have been so busy so be patient. This is definitely a gem for fresh dumplings. Service is so sweet and smooth as well. They're happy to answer any questions and let you know what's available and what's not. Very juicy and plump the outside is soft. Presentation is amazing. I can't wait to go back. The filling is a mix of chicken and veggies. You can order to go or sit down. Great addition to the area.

There aren't many places around Memphis that serve Northeastern Chinese-style food, so my family decided to come try a variety of their dishes. The space is clean and nicely set up, with thoughtful Chinese-style decor. You can tell they put effort into creating a comfortable dining environment. Here's what we tried: !Xiao long bao (soup dumplings): Juicy with flavorful filling. The skin is relatively thin, and there was actually soup inside, which was a nice surprise for this area. ! Malatang (numb & spicy hot pot): Generous portion. The broth has a good balance of spice and that familiar numbing kick. ! Zha Jiang noodle (dry noodle with pork sauce): The hand-pulled noodles have a nice chewy texture. I'd like to explore more of their noodle options next time. ! Grilled skewers (lamb, chicken, sausage): Well-seasoned with a noticeable charcoal aroma. Definitely one of the highlights. ! Dragon fruit lemon tea (half sugar, light ice): Refreshing and helps cut through the richness of the meal. They've only been open about a week, so service is still settling in, but everyone was friendly and attentive. The takeout packaging was also thoughtfully done. Overall, a great experience, and I'm glad to have a spot like this in Memphis. Definitely come back to try more.

I had the pleasure of trying the new restaurant in Cordova, and everything was amazing from start to finish. I started with the pork belly skewers with mild seasoning, and they were cooked perfectly with incredible flavor. I also tried the chicken spring rolls, which were pleasantly large, crispy, and packed with flavor. Next came the chicken pan-fried dumplings, and they did not disappoint at all. To complete my first visit, I had the pork and crab soup dumplings, which were absolutely delicious and tasted very authentic. The food, atmosphere, and overall experience were excellent. I will definitely be coming back again very soon!

I love dumplings and was looking forward to trying Mingxia. I selected the sampler, which allows you to select 3 of the 4 varieties and I chose vegetable, chicken, and pork. The fourth selection was beef. I liked how they were different colors, but I had to guess which was which. They were all prepared well and were tasty. I got my order to go and was surprised by the super cute reusable bag they provided. The cashier was pleasant and I liked how you could view the food preparation area. I look forward to trying out other items.

The pork soup dumplings were good. The green beans decent and the cucumber salad was decent. It has peanuts. They need to add that description to the menu so those with an allergy won't order... I would go back if I'm ever in the area again.

Love the skewers. The soup dumplings are good too. The noodles were great. Made for sharing.

    Spicy lamb skewers

What a great little spot. I stopped by for a special menu tasting and wow oh wow! They are known for the dumplings and I see why. Dumplings are made fresh every hour and you can taste the freshness. I ordered lamb skewers at the spicy level and XLB soup dumplings with watermelon lemon tea. I didn't know the tea has sweetness levels, 25% was my choice. Not sweet but refreshing. Lamb skewers were a good spice flavor not overpowering and pair very well with the lamb. However, I feel the lamb was a tadbit overcooked. The dumplings were so very good. Memorial Day around noon everyone wanted something different so it was crowded but service was great.

I've been enjoying the chef's Chinese buns and dumplings for quite some time, and I've also had the chance to try her kebabs at the Memphis Dragon Boat Festivals and Asian Night Markets over the years. Everything I've tried has been amazing, but I could never find her at a permanent location. Today, I'm so excited to share that she has finally opened her own restaurant, Mingxia Dumplings, in Cordova! I visited on the first day of their soft opening, and it made me so happy to enjoy all those delicious buns and kebabs again. Even better, the restaurant now offers a wide variety of Chinese dishes, including Northeastern-style mala tang (spicy hot pot), xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), and fresh hand-pulled noodles. I just got back from a business trip to Shanghai, where I had the chance to try their famous xiaolongbao. Even compared to what I had there, I can honestly say Mingxia's version is among the best I've had.

As for other dishes, I wouldn't recommend the Malatang, it lacked the mala (numbing spice) flavor.

It is made with black angus beef, 44 Farms Philly Steak, queso, peppers, onions, mushrooms, jalapenos, and Pepper Jack, all served with hand cut fries. Every bite was bold, juicy, and packed with flavor. The hand cut fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned to match. We also shared the Hot Mama 12 inch pizza with a chicken substitute, and it was outstanding. Fresh herbs, tomato sauce, mozzarella, red pepper flakes, basil, and local honey on a perfectly baked crust. The combination of heat and sweetness from the honey made it stand out from any pizza I have had recently. Because of that, I pretty much expected Waldo's to follow the same formula: chicken strips, fries, Texas toast, and slaw -- and that's exactly what I got. The chicken strips were flavorful and really good. I also liked that they weren't oversized like some other places. The fries were a little different from the usual crinkle-cut style you get elsewhere. They seemed fresh-cut, very thin, and surprisingly good. The slaw was just okay -- not bad, but nothing especially memorable and a bit too dry for my taste. And of course, the Texas toast was exactly what you'd expect: buttery and solid. Overall, the food was pretty good. I visited on a Friday night, and apparently that's karaoke night, so just know it gets LOUD. People were singing, dancing, and clearly having a great time, which made for a fun atmosphere, but if you're looking for a quiet dine in dinner, Friday night probably isn't the best time to go. The restaurant also has plenty of TVs throughout the dining and bar area, which makes it a great spot to watch a game. You order when you enter and they bring the food to your table. Servers were great. Overall, I enjoyed it and would definitely go back.
