Great little dive bar that has really good burgers. Would definitely recommend for lunch, dinner, beer, or cocktail hour.

The French dip is amazing, fried chicken dinner is a steal for $7, the turkey bacon melt and Mexican night are awesome too.

Tyranena Painted Ladies Pumpkin Spice Ale: Although I've become less of a beer guy since my college…read moredays, I like to try at least one new pumpkin beer each fall. Tyranena was founded in Lake Mills, WI by Rob Larson in 1999. Although that's within my lifetime, it was well before my beer drinking days. Painted Ladies Pumpkin Spice Ale (PLPSA) comes in at an above average 7.25% ABV with an IBU of 22. The bottle depicts multiple pumpkins painted with makeup to resemble women. The term "Painted Ladies" has a few different meanings. It was chosen for Lake Mill's "The Painted Ladies Fling" because the word is often used for Victorian and Edwardian buildings that are painted in ways that help to enhance their architectural details. The fling helps to highlight business and building owners who have embellished and enhanced their buildings throughout the year. Alternatively, it can be used as a synonym for prostitute, and that's why it was chosen for this ale as some of the more adventurous women in Lake Mills dress as painted ladies during the Fling event. PLPSA is an amber ale that pours an opaque copper color with surprisingly little head. There are notes of caramel and toffee, along with pumpkin pie spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and clove). I found this to be an easy beer to drink as the none of the flavors were overly pronounced (although this could also be a criticism for some). I would say it's a relatively average pumpkin beer, but that's high praise from someone who doesn't drink much beer. Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews My favorite Pumpkin Beers: 1. Southern Tier Pumking Imperial Ale 2. Saint Arnold Pumpkinator Imperial Stout 3. New Belgium Pumpkick Ale 4. Cold Brew Coffee Pumking Nitro 5. Jack-O Traveler Pumpkin Shandy

Stopped in on a recent Saturday for lunch. It was relatively quiet so bellied up to the bar…read more Sauer's is pretty spacious inside with the requisite gaming machines along the wall. My server/bartender was attentive and very welcoming. A solid selection of taps, cans/bottles and your standard offering of booze. They do have a menu of different old fashioneds for those inclined. Their menu is your standard pub options-appetizers, pizza, wings, burgers, sandwiches, and fish on Fridays. I opted for one of their daily specials-steak sandwich. I opted for the upgrade for the side of fries that came with and selected the pickle chips. I am glad I did as they are some of the best I have tasted in quite sometime. Thinly sliced, they were perfectly fried with a thin batter that didn't hide the flavor of the pickle. The sandwich also hit the mark-tender steak nestled between a ciabatta bun. It was great. Highly recommend checking out Sauer's-a solid pub with some great food.

Sauers is a great hometown bar. Solid food menu, great variety of old fashioneds, good craft beer…read moremenu. Went tonight for Wing Night with my husband and adult son. We split orders of the chippers (housemade potato chips) and deep fried pickle chips. The garlic cream cheese dip with the chippers is SOO good!!! I need like 6 more cups of that stuff! We all liked our wings. I got boneless (which was strips of lightly breaded chicken breast) with Garlic Parmesan sauce. That sauce was fantastic! New to their menu is the option to get any of their sandwiches as a wrap. It's been a bit since we've been there on a Friday, but their Friday Night Fish Fry has always been great also. Great place to watch a game too. Servers are always so very friendly and attentive. Even on a busy night, you'll see them all tag teaming the tables to make sure everyone is taken care of.
