I wasn't expecting to be getting a CAT scan (and then an MRI) but that's what happened on Thursday. Mink wasn't expecting me either, but they managed to fit me in on an emergency basis and made the process easy. I was unsteady after the first procedure and they really looked after me. Everyone was wonderful and Elgin was especially magnificent. I left the office for a moment and he followed me to make sure I would be alright . From beginning to end, I felt I was in good hands and appreciate everyone who got me through the day. I think it was Karen who kept an eye on me. And the technician was wonderful, too. I am sitting in the waiting room while my mother in law is having a procedure and have witnessed one of the receptionist, I think I heard her say her name is Molly, with blonde/orange hair and glasses be extremely rude as other people came to check in. She was very rude when asked questions regarding the paperwork and just snapped a patients multiple times. She was even worse when answering phone calls. This has been going on for about 45 minutes straight now. I'm glad she was not here when my mother in law checked in because I would have went off. Someone that is this rude should not be working a front office or with people for that matter. People coming to your office are ill or hurt, its horrible that the first impression they get from your office is her and her sharp rudeness. read more

My dr ordered the MRI first thing yesterday morning. I called they said wait for them to call. They didn't call I called they said no order was sent. I called the dr back and they sent another order. Mink never called me back. This went on all day. Meanwhile I was almost passing out at home alone with my toddler from pain and my dr needed that mri. I finally got an appointment for today and so I got up and dropped my kid off at a relative's house and headed over. There was confusion about the time of my appointment and whether I even had one or not but I stuck it out despite my anxiety. I'm claustrophobic and they told me I would have an open MRI. So I walked in the room and it wasn't an open mri. It was an mri for larger people. If you're are claustrophobic like me, please note this is not an actual open MRI. It's just a slightly larger tube. I was willing to try, anyway, since I really need this mri.... but when I asked the technician if he would take me out if I needed to come out he laughed and wouldn't agree. That's when I was done. Had I known it wasn't an open mri I could have taken something to calm my nerves or asked my dr to prescribe something. It would have probably worked out. I'm really at a loss right now because I now have to play more phone tag with my dr and An additional imaging center and I'm really in a lot of pain. I wish mink would have been upfront with me. If you have anxiety like me about small spaces and you walk into a room and someone laughs at you when you tell them you may have a hard time staying in a very small space..... I just don't feel the situation was taken care of properly. The administrative staff was very nice and efficient, in person. I guess my issue was with the technician. I know I'm responsible for my emotions but I also know not many people feel totally comfortable laying in a tube for 20 minutes with loud banging. I'm really disappointed and I hope I can get an mri somewhere soon. read more

I came in and the front desk lady was too busy talking about how you should be able to beat your kids with another man in the waiting room. It was a completely unprofessional conversation. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I felt uncomfortable sitting in the waiting room while they were discussing "how people should be able to beat their kids ass" and it's different times. Finally I said something. I told the lady at the desk I didn't feel the conversation was professional nor did it belong at her place of work. She disagreed. But I explained to her she represented the mink radiology lab. She did nothing but hand me a form, gave me no instructions, and proceeded with her banter with the older gentlemen. How to discipline your children in such graphic language should not be present when someone comes into the lobby. I felt uneasy enough to tell them to stop the conversation. The woman said she didn't think it was inappropriate and said we had a difference of opinion. She walks away to lunch and finally tells me my appointment is at 12:45 and they will come get me at 12:30. It wasn't professional period, and I will likely ask to be sent to a different imaging center should I need imaging done. Even though I'm am not personally paying, I am Using my insurance benefits to pay your clinic, and you should not employ people who do not understand that unprofessional conversations in front of patients are uncalled for and there was no real apology. The woman walked out like she was in the right, stating to the man "different generations". As if the generations who "beat or whoop their kids ass" was any better. Also. I was never told about eating or drinking before the imaging! Now the lady has gone to lunch and thirsty I have no clue if I can eat or drink anything, I had to look online. My experience has been Unfortunately , just because it's in Beverly Hills, doesn't mean it is any better than any other place. This place would do better with professional from desk staff. read more

I went to Mink radiology for an MRI. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful as are the technicians who run the MRI machines. My appointment did start 15 minutes late; however, I was able to receive a disk of my data right after my appointment. It would be helpful if the data was provided on a USB drive (or something more accessible than a CD-ROM) since many people do not have a CD-ROM disk reader anymore. The report written for my referring physicians included transcription errors. Mink promptly corrected once it was identified. However, this created a situation in which my referring physicians and I spent much extra time trying to discuss the report's findings. Additionally, the report is written in very jargon-y language which makes it difficult for the average person to understand and creates extra work for the referring doctor who ordered the tests to translate from neurologist-speak to English. It would be helpful if they changed their report style to ensure doctors and patients can understand the conclusions drawn from the images (data). Specific suggestions on how to do this: 1) cite which image (using a unique identifier) corresponds to which sentence(s) in the report, so that referring physicians and patients can easily find which image was used to draw a given conclusion in the report, and 2) reference the region of the brain being spoken about (e.g. if the amygdala is mentioned in the report, cite that it's part of the limbic system) so that patients can orient themselves to what is being spoken about. 3) cite likely causes or effects of any normal/abnormal findings in the image (if known) I may update later if I think of other suggestions to improve communication and understanding between Mink, referring physicians, and patients. read more

Having an MRI isn't always the most pleasant, and especially having one with contrast that involves you to be in the MRI machine for over an hour. Thankfully MINK truly made it all so easy. From the scheduling to the front desk and the procedure itself. I want to especially thank my MRI tech or nurse (not sure) Amber! She was amazing and caring, and I wouldn't of made it through the MRI without her coaching! Would absolutely come again if necessary, but hopefully don't have to!! read more

I got there on 1/2/017 10:00 so I was on time. My appointment was for 10:30 for CT chest. The 2 lady's that seething on the front desk was so rude and In very bad mood. I feel out the documents and after an hour that they talking with they self abut everything I decided to cancel it and to leave the place. I never got so crazy experience with doctors office. They look like that And when you ask them something- Too bad I didn't took a pic to show you. Never again!!! read more

OMG! Talk about a person not being the brightest star in the sky....We'll, you'll not find that here!!! Every person at this imaging center shone like the sun on a very clear day: Brilliantly! What a grand experience and Elgin topped the apex on the day I was there! Personable, charming, kind, knowledgeable and possibly a dozen more attributes! "Me thinx" it was the very best medical experience I have ever had in all my 73 years of existence. What a positive bevy of kind people too! Would you believe that Elgin took my temperature but not before he asked if he could. Who does that???....Elgin, plain and simple! Then there was Gloria, Carin, a beautiful friendly Gal Gadot-esque young lady in red heels..... oh dang, my memory "is a slip'n, as I cannot recall any other names. Well, my point is....Elgin gets the kudos for being extremely helpful to Mink's clients whether on the phone or in person and I would highly recommend Mink Imaging for all your imaging needs because on their applications they inquire if you are truly a good person.....and you should already know the answer to that. read more

I scheduled an epidural with Mink Radiology and found out later that they had taken me off the schedule without notification and would no longer take any new patients. This would have been understandable if they had not already set a date and time for the procedure with knowledge that I was a new patient and after I had given them my medical information. There is absolutely no reason they should have booked and confirmed a procedure knowing that they were not taking new patients. Additionally, the fact that they did not call to explain that the procedure had been cancelled was extremely unprofessional. Ultimately, I would not have found out if my referring doctor's office hadn't called to let me know that they received word of the cancellation. Very dissatisfied with my experience with this office. read more

I made an appointment at MINK for my mother who's doctor had ordered an MRA - a specialized test to determine vascular issues. This test requires the injection of contrast dye. I accompanied my mother to Mink for the test. After 2 and a half hours, my mother emerged from the testing area with a tourniquet around each elbow and wrist, her arms and hands swollen and bruised. It happens that Mink had no professional phlebotomist on duty that day. Though they have an extremely busy practice generating high revenues and perform injected contrast tests daily, they do not see fit to employ a professional. In lieu of a competent trained individual, they enlisted - not a phlebotomist, not a nurse, not a doctor, not even a technician - but a member of the lab staff to repeatedly stab my mother. They were not able, after many stabs of the needle, to inject the dye. But here is the best part: THEY DID THE TEST ANYWAY. WITHOUT THE CONTRAST. When my mom emerged and recounted this horrific story, garrotes around her arms, I insisted to speak with the doctor on duty. Dr Bein came out - a very tall man and imposing figure who grabbed and shook my hand with an intimidatingly crushing grip (I am a 5'2" 110 pound female). I told him Mink had not performed the correct test - the one my mom's doctor had ordered. Dr. Bein said flippantly "It was good enough." I repeated, "The specialist ordered a specific test." Dr Bein reiterated "The test was good enough." When I asked how it was possible that, given the nature of his business, Mink didn't have a professional on staff to do the injection he glared "We did our best. It's good enough." My mother's doctor emphatically disagreed. The test done by Mink test was NOT the test ordered and indeed NOT good enough. My mother had to make another appointment with another lab to redo the test. Imagine how the insurance company felt about this. Indeed, it appeared we might have to pay for the repeat out of our own pockets (several thousand dollars) since the insurance company had already been billed for the incorrectly done test at Mink. The scariest part of the whole incident was that Dr. Bein would try to convince us that this test was good enough and diagnostically sufficient, when it was the WRONG test. Is money more important that people's lives? Unprofessional and unconscionable. read more

This place was terrible. Nice offices and courteous staff but the tech did the work incorrectly according to two doctors that received the results. I had to do all of the work over again at a different lab. The Mink results showed that I did not have a problem because the test was done incorrectly. When I re-did the tests with another lab they found that I had a problem and needed surgery (according to 2 surgeons from 2 separate practices). Then on top of it, they sent the bills to my address but did not put the suite numbers on it so I did not get the bills. I first bill I actually received was from a collection agency. Incompetent company. Stay away from them. read more

I would NOT recommend this place to anyone! I did NOT want to give them any stars, but I wanted to post, so I gave them the one star. I WOUND UP IN THE ER AFTER THE MACHINE GAVE ME A STRONG JOLT OF ELECTRICITY THAT RAN FROM MY RIGHT FOOT NERVES ALL THE WAY THROUGH MY BODY AND TO MY HEART! I GOT ELECTROCUTED, THEY HAD TO STOP THE MACHINE, and to top it all off the radiologist was insulted that I moved after enduring the pain for that short time, tears were flowing from my eyes, AND I was left by myself to change and see my way out, eventhough I was clearly in alot of pain. I told him I was not ok, and he replied, "Well, that never happens here!" Well, it did to me. So it DOES HAPPEN. Even when I first arrived, I was treated rudely upon walking in by the receptionist. The radiologist came to get me, and instead of politely calling my name, he said "Hey you, this way." I followed him, was given instructions to place my clothes in a locker. I was not asked to take my vitals. And was not asked if I had any questions or concerns. I was not given a safety button to push for emergencies, and as I lay there and he started the MRI machine, I could feel the veins in my right foot convulse and within seconds it shot a sharp burning pain through my body. TO TOP EVERYTHING OFF...I have been calling to a copy of my MRI report, and they say, "There is no report, you didn't finish the MRI." And all I can think is, of course I did not finish it, I GOT INJURED IN YOUR MACHINE. I would think that even more so, they would document what happened to me, so it would not be repeated. So I drive home after being left for dead. I live 7 min away. My body temperature skyrocketed, I could not breathe, my heart was racing and felt like it was going to pop out of my chest, and everything got blurry and I felt dizzy. I felt like I was having a HEART ATTACK. I get out of my car, and have trouble walking, seeing and breathing. My neighbor sees me and calls 911. The ambulance came, they took my vitals and they were so bad that they transported me to the ER at CEDAR SINAI. I really feel that my neighbor saved my life. ON THE OTHER HAND, MINK LEFT ME FOR DEAD! IT FELT LIKE A HIT AND RUN. AND NOW THEY ARE HIDING AND CONCEALING EVIDENCE. read more

Mink Radiologic Imaging provided an amazing service. My son's doctor requested a CT scan and wanted to see the results before my son could start taking the prescriptions. Anxious for my son to have some relief from his sinus blockage, I wanted an early appointment. Sensing my urgency, Elgin was able and willing to squeeze my son in for the scan. The scan was evaluated and sent to the doctor's office within a couple of hours. I am so grateful for Elgin and the entire staff at Mink for their wonderful customer service and professionalism. I had an MRI appointment at Mink on Tuesday 10/26 and was turned away after driving several hours from Riverside because I was 10 minutes late. NO! this is not a typo. I posted my review later the same day. I had to repost it 2 days later (READ Scott C. 10/28) because it was taken down. I spoke with staff at all four Mink facilities at the time of my appointment, explained my situation and asked each to have the respective office manager call me back. I additionally left a message at the same time for Dr. Mink to call me regarding my poor treatment. To date I have received no replies to these requests. Today, I received my only reply, to my Yelp review via Yelp from Lora G., Patient and Physician Relations. Lora wrote, "I cannot imagine that you'd be turned away if you're already on site." MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY! However, from the multiple identical experiences described in previous patient Yelp reviews, Lora shouldn't be surprised. I wonder if they received the same reply from Lora. This is further evidence that Dr. Mink and Mink Radiology staff support such treatment. read more

I just got back from getting an MRI at Mink. Rene was my technician and he was fantastic! I told him I'm claustrophobic and he went above and beyond to make me feel at ease. He walked me through it and told me how long each session was going to take. All in all, it was about 15 minutes total. It was quick and over before I knew it. I can't thank him enough. I had an epidural that was the worst medical experience of my life. I was scheduled to have Dr Mink do it but he was called away. So I had another doctor take his place. It was so painful and the Dr kept literally stabbing the area. I was in horrific pain. 20 minutes into the procedure I asked if he had put the medicine in. He said N0. He kept taking the needle out. I told him to inject the Medicine since I already went through the pain and agony. He did. It didn't work. Left there barely able to lift my left leg. Went to Kerlan and Jobe where Dr Yoon did it in 15 minutes and I have been pain free for 6 months. I have severe stenosis and couldn't stand or walk for more than 3 minutes. Finally after Dr Yoon I have relief. read more

Pick another location for your medical imaging. Horrible customer service. The girls at the front desk have no regard for the people in the waiting room. They're laughing, dancing around, eating at the front desk and being completely unprofessional while the patients (some with serious conditions) are waiting to be called in for their imaging. I arrived 1 hour ahead of time and was left waiting for an additional 45 mins in the waiting room because "we're running behind" People were showing up early and on time for their appointments so I don't understand how they can be running behind.... Unless... They are over scheduling. Regardless for as much as they charge you would imagine that professional and timely service would be included. Guess not. read more

I was assigned by my doctor to Mink Radiology for a complex CT scan. Based on my experience, Mink fell far short on professional ability and customer service. Therefore, I would ask any doctor to never use them again. Firstly, my doctor read the CT materially differently than Mink and my doctor's explanation was much more thorough and persuasive. Thus, while Mink performs imagining, its analysis is sub-par in my experience. Second, my $1000+ CT scan was covered by insurance, with a co-pay of $40. Mink neglected to collect the co-pay upon my visit. Instead, they sent two paper bills to my home. Unfortunately, I had moved and the address was not correct. The account was assigned to collections (thats right, a $40 account, assigned to a collector), who called me repeatedly on two consecutive Fridays and sundays until I was able to get in touch with Mink and pay the $40 co-pay. As collectors usually do, they were aggressive and rude and made incorrect statements about the bill. Mink's decision to use aggressive collectors reflects poorly on their view of patients and customers. I encourage doctors and, to the extent they can choose, patientc, not to use Mink Radiology. read more

Here's the deal, they did a good job. We got the results but the floor manager told us it would be a 10 minute wait and then proceeded to keep us there for 2 hours. It wasn't until I told her my son was actually in pain that she "decided" to take us. I believe honestly she made us wait simply because she could. Cedars and St. John's both have imaging labs and the wait is never that long. . . go there!!! read more

I was sent in by my orthopedist to have a cat scan at Mink Radiological Imaging. I was in tremendous pain and the technician, Jona, was so attuned to my broken arm and was so good at not making the pain worse when I was positioned for the cat scan. What a careful person she is. It is rare to find people who actually care about others these days. When so many people are treated like numbers, she treated me like a real person. When the cat scan was over, she carefully got me up from the table trying to minimize my pain. Her competence and kindness were exceptional. The office staff was also very nice. read more

Wonderful staff - Elgin, Gloria, Maria, Joe. Very clean. Lockers and dressing rooms to put your clothes. On time. Professional. Kind. Joe was incredible with me. I am afraid of small spaces and he talked to me to let me know how long each piece would be, gave me direction, gave me earplugs and headphones to listen to music and a blanket to keep my feet warm for the whole procedure. They validate your parking which was so nice too. I received my disks in no time. For something that is not fun at all, the whole staff made me feel comfortable and cared for and calm. Efficient and always on time. I have had several MRIs due to a shoulder and neck issue and the entire team was outstanding. The hours are great open early 7am and close late 8pm which accommodates my work schedule which is rare for medical facilities. Parking can sometimes be tricky but I usually find metered street parking and I think they have a lot in the back. I highly recommend this facility. I have been coming throughout the years and always find them extremely accommodating. read more

I went for a MRI of my knee at Mink Radiology on 3rd street (a brand new office). As I entered, the staff all greeted me with a big smile on the face. They were sweet, funny and friendly. Serge, the technician, took the images. He was very polite and professional. Also, there was no charge for parking in the building which made parking real easy. I was in and out in under 30 minutes.
