We purchased one of the Monster size blankets this summer and just pulled it out of the closet to use it for the holidays. When we pulled it out of the closet, we realized the stitching is coming out. I contacted customer service and they said they have a 30 warranty on the stitching. We used the blanket roughly 10 times (haven't even washed it yet). That's a lot of $ to spend on something that doesn't last. Poor customer service too. I don't feel the quality or customer service is worth the $. Paying more for something is typically an indicator of quality and excellent backing by the company. We would have been better served buying the Costco version. At least they would have backed up the product. read more

Extremely disappointed! So to start, I don't usually take time to post a negative review because there is enough negativity in the world already, but this was a joke! I had been checking the website and calling in for weeks to get robes. For s while I just kept getting told they didn't know when they would be available, I get it they are a new item. Then finally someone says "They will be showing on their website tomorrow morning at 8am or maybe 9am. You will want to order them online because those will get here before in stock ones for the store" Great I figured sold orders would take priority. So I checked and sure enough they weren't showing online (this was December 8th). Well 1 am on the 9th I couldn't sleep so I got on to see if there was an update and sure enough they showed online so $1,000+ later I placed my order for 10 robes. Well I had not heard anything so I try calling the store where I was having them shipped for pick up. Well no one picked up, once again I understand it's a busy time of year. I have bought 10 blankets the past few weeks, plus several throughout the year and I have no idea how many I have bought total over the last 2 years, at least 30 blankets, I love the product. So I stopped by the store to see if I could get an update, it's only a 45 minute drive, not to big of a deal. When I get there what do I see? Robes all over the shelves and a last bringing out more and more while I wait. Just to be told "Your order is not here yet, it might be here tomorrow or Monday. Actually it won't be here tomorrow so it might be here Monday." I thought I had a good solution so I said "Well can we just fill my order with the ones that are here in the store (I had counted 18 that had been stocked on shelves while I was waiting, plus there were at least another 15 to 20 on display) then when my order comes in you can just replace these?" I thought that was a very reasonable idea and solution just to be given the comment "Well is what you could do is buy these ones, then when your order comes in we can refund the money." Are you serious??? Do what's suggested by employees and then get no help after the fact. Basically just a big well that sucks! Have never had a problem here, but this blows every good experience out of the water. Extremely disappointed!!! Merry Christmas we got your money already! That is the feeling that I got. So to sum it up, the customer service was worse than appalling! So if you want to buy super expensive blankets and robes and then get treated like crap this is your place! I guess what is one person when they have so many already buying from them. read more

Super soft blankets but thank god for sales because if I was to spend $300 on blankets a month my husband would spank me haha

When my mother in law went to Utah she brought this back and I was gifted one of these blankets and I have to admit, when I first unwrapped it, the blanket was so soft and fluffy I loved it. But then I washed it and it was shedding like crazy. I mean it was everywhere! It ended up all over our face, in our mouths, on our clothes, then trailed all the way into our car. Not only that, the blanket was definitely not as soft or fluffy. I emailed the company and they said the blanket is not suppose to shed and they can take a look at the order. Unfortunately, they said because we were out of the return window of 30 days they cannot do anything except offer 60% off another blanket. I emailed them saying that for the amount their blankets cost, it barely lasted a few months before all this shedding happened. Good thing, my mother in law went back to Utah. She took up my blanket and brought it back to the store. Long story short, she was able to exchange my blanket for a new one without too much trouble. Customer service seemed to be helpful and we were able to exchange it. I love these blankets but they are costly. read more

I was shopping in the Layton store today. Bought a blanket infant size for a gift... Christmas in August for 2995. No problems. Then I decided to make another purchase of a travel blanket... Christmas in August and when she rang it up it was $50 something dollars instead of 42.95 as posted. She tried to claim that because it was an urban style it cost $10 more. But that is not posted on the price signage. There was no indication on the pricing sign for a travel blanket that it was higher in price. Very disappointed. I shop this store quite often. Too bad the young lady didn't even think it was worth her while to go and talk with the manager. So I decided not to purchase because I have a bad feeling right now with the store. read more

Had such high Hope's for this company and was totally let down at what I received for my money! The blanket looked huge on the site and I made sure to look at the sizing chart. It showed a stickman who's supposed to represent 6ft tall. And I was like ok this is my size and it should work. I was so wrong it's shorter then the measurements they give you and the measurements also include the thin ribbon the goes around the outside. Plus to top it off the minky itself is so thin I can see the material it's sewn to on the other side in spots. This is all after just pulling it from its shipping box, I haven't even used it or washed it. So let down and have tried to email them. Haven't heard back yet I'm going to assume it's going to take a long time to respond. Since it took almost 3wks just to get the waste of my money in the first place. * Got a reply it was a short one, basically saying it's self explanatory and that they say sizing maybe off on their page. I didn't see any thing stating it was going to be around 2in short long wise and in width. They didn't even respond to why its see through in areas. read more

We recently bought the University of Utah and BYU versions of the minky blanket for our sons. After the first year is them they both noticed that the blankets shed so much that their clothes, their carpet, and anything the blankets touched were covered with fabric from the blankets. They were literally unusable. We called the store in Layton and they said they would get back to us. They didn't. We took the blankets into the store and they said they would look at them and get back to us. They didn't. We went back in the store and ask them what was going on and after about 10 minutes in the back room and employee came out and handed us two new blankets and adamantly said this is a one time exchange no matter what. I asked what if they still shed and she repeated like a robot that it was a one time exchange no matter what. They said that those blankets never do that and it was a one time exchange no matter what. They had no interest in addressing the real problem and making us happy they were just limiting their liability. We took the blankets home and this time we decided to try to wash them as it was recommended on several posts. Initially it seemed like maybe they were better but soon we saw a black fabric all over the carpet from the bedroom down the hall and into the TV room and all over the furniture. Since they told us it was a one time exchange no matter what we are not even going to bother taking them back again. There is clearly a problem with the blankets but they do not want to address it. I would be very careful about buying one of these blankets unless you want the fabric all over everything it touches. read more

High quality product- you get what you pay for. Prices are steep but the offer discounts often. Our little girl is obsessed with her blankets from minky. It's been well worth it. They do good on keeping up with popular patterns and designs too. read more

I placed an order on black friday. Never received a tracking number or email. Called today, was yelled at by customer service that it was shipped and to take it up with UPS. They refused to provide me with a tracking number. Sent me a very rude email in caps. And now they say they have refunded me my order, and said they have no idea when I'll receive my refund. I asked if I could just pick the items up in store seeing how that was the main thing my 10 year old son and my Girlfriend wanted for Christmas were Minky Couture blankets. So now I'm out over $300, no answers to when I'll be refunded. No replacement. And now if I want the blankets I ordered and paid for on black Friday it will be $649 for blankets instead of the $302 I am out. They refuse to let you speak to a manager or give you a corporate number. I do not know how they are still in business selling $300 blankets and hanging up on customers and refusing tracking numbers. Thank you Minky Couture for ruining my day, and being the Grinch that stole my 10 year old boy and girlfriends Christmas. read more

I received a Minky blanket for Christmas, and it's been single-handedly getting me through this social isolation thing! They are so comfortable, and I love that it is a local business making them. My one complaint is that my dog keeps hogging it from me. He loves it, too. Minky should start making dog beds! read more

Everyone should have a minky! I think the best price you'll get is around Black Friday. Also, sign up for their emails and you'll get deals there. They are pricey, but worth it! Hey! Don't you remember when we would spend $100+ on Doc Martens? They made us look super awesome and they were worth it. Minkies are EXACTLY the same. Super awesome. Worth it. We own at least five Minky Couture blankets. They really are the softest blanket you will ever buy. And so worth the price! They are durable and super easy to wash/dry. The customer service provided is impeccable - I needed to replace a blanket recently and it was done right away, no questions asked and with the friendliest disposition I could have hoped for! We are Minky lifers, that's for sure. read more

Has anyone washed them yet? Mine shed so bad after washing, per directions it's just terrible.

We went in last night to get a blanket for our baby who will be in a little over a month. No one spoke a word to us. We sat at the table and picked out what we wanted for about 20-25 minutes. Still no one had spoken to us, the workers were all standing behind the register whispering to each other. I would understand if they were busy but there was about a 5 minute span we were the only one on the store. We finally picked out what we wanted no one came to help so we ordered on our phone and left. They did finally tell us to have a good day as we walked out the store. Pathetic service I work retail and I would have been fired. Haha it's ok though we totally could of been up sold to two or three blankets that was me and my wife's goal but if no one helped so they made less money! read more

I didn't even want to give 1 star due to what I received (but I had to give at least one).....I ordered online a custom blanket (large) for my niece for Christmas (hunter snow, jade & cream ribbon), the picture of the hunter snow was a color that went well w/ the jade (or so I thought)......When I went to pick up the blanket it was no where close to what I thought I had ordered......The hunter snow was actually tree branches w/ snow on them (which was not reflected in the pictures online)....Needless to say I was beyond disappointed & knew that my niece would feel the same.....I have tried to contact manager Tiffany on numerous occasion w/ no response of any sort.....I realize that it stated no returns on the custom blanket but I think that the company should make either clearer pictures on line or state exactly what the hunter snow (s/b hunter camouflage) .....At this point I will let my co-workers, family & friends know not to order from this company......Very, very dissatisfied!!!!! read more
