The hotel is bougie enough to satisfy anyone. But most of all, the staff -- every one of them -- was friendly and eager to please. For example: I left home without a hat. I mentioned to the front desk I would be going to the Twins game that week. The next day, a staff member personally delivered a Twins cap to my door. They didn't sell the cap in the gift shop. No, they'd chipped in and bought if for me. Sounds incredible? They are efficient, friendly and they do listen to their guests. House keeping was spotless. The complementary breakfast was truly out of this worldt. Not a buffet with food warmers; no plastic, but real utensils; cloth napkins; a waitress to cater to your special requests; and a pleasant atmosphere in the Wadsworth dining room. We booked an event here for our daughters first birthday and everything was amazing! The planning with the staff was so easy. The staff onsite were very friendly and attentive to our needs. They allow outside catering now which made our event even more special to serve our guests with our favorite foods! The room we were in was the Minnesota room which can hold 300 people. Their ballroom can hold 600! We did not book any rooms but they do have a restaurant and full bar that was open at night. Front desk staff was very friendly escorting our guests to our party room. Would recommend renting space here for your future parties! read more

After 4 days of staying for work the 4th day i had some time to get ready & was in the bathroom looked at the sink & seen what i was brushing my teeth in & washing my face it literally made me sick. What an amazing hotel and with great meeting space options. The staff here are top notch, attending to all needs and consistently kind and helpful. I was very surprised as well of how good the food was, from the restaurant to the meals served in the meeting space. The Amphitheater was unique and worked really well for our group. I don't think I have ever seen an Amphitheater in a hotel before. The Superior boardroom was also really unique as well, it felt like the hotel was built around that table. Overall, 5 out of 5 in all aspects of our visit!! read more

My eldest son and I came to enquire about having a wedding party this summer at the Marriot we were greeted with a warm welcome-from the front desk, one of the wedding party planners named Courtnie did the most amazing job going above and beyond with her customer service during a very busy schedule to give us a small tour and answer all of our questions! Explained the main person in charge was out of town and she would be getting back to us we left very pleased!! Today was a different story my first point of contact with the head person in charge answered her phone I started to explain the reason for my call she cut me off and said she had a mother of the bride waiting for her. as if my call was unimportant and didn't need my attention or business. I explained I also am a Mother of a bride making plans and she said I will get back to you very nonchalantly. When she finally did she rudely explained our date and our event won't work for her and staff. The reason for my review is simply this! This location is one of the nicest Marriott properties I've stayed at in some time. The only real "con" is that it's not terribly close to much, but definitely a good option for those doing business in the area or hosting a conference/meeting. The property is a converted Embassy Suites so rooms are going to be larger than the standard, with a nice sitting area - a good option for families. We were upgraded into a corner suite (Marriott Elite, holla!) and it was huge! There are the standard amenities - indoor pool, workout facility, business center and a small-ish conference center. Parking is free, but wifi isn't unless you are a Rewards member. Nice rooms aside, the staff here is absolutely great. We arrived a bit before the 3pm check in and had to wait a bit for a room (maybe 15 minutes). Really no big deal, but they offered us drink coupons for the wait which I thought was really nice. We were there for a small event and the bartending and serving staff were also great. I'd happily stay here again. read more

I barely ever make it out to this neck of the woods, but I figured it was my turn to drive out to meet my friend who lived closer to Northland. We met for their Sunday brunch. The inside of hotel and breakfast set up reminded me a lot of Embassy Suites set- up. Excellent choices for brunch and a good variety of breakfast fare. The spread was quite nice and looked the food was fresh. Waffles, made to order omelettes, salads, meats, cheeses, fruit etc. I was impressed by what they had to offer. The area was clean and presentable and our server was very nice. Would probably venture back if in the area, but don't know that I would make it a habit. The brunch is around 22.00 and it's a bit of a hike. read more

Airport shuttle only goes 5mi. Hotel is MUCH further than 5mi. Prior to booking hotel, I called to confirm there is an airport shuttle and breakfast. I was told yes to both. As I was on my way to airport, I received call from hotels.com that Marriott was overbooked and needed to move us. I told them the main reason I booked this hotel is because the event I was attending is there and they have an airport shuttle. After a 30+ min phone call, it was decided that we can stay at this hotel and there is still a shuttle. When we reached airport in MN, we walked to shuttle area and were told that we needed to call for shuttle. I called the hotel and was told that their shuttle only goes 5mi. How is it an airport shuttle if it doesnt go to airport?? We had to take an Uber to get to hotel. We checked in at front desk and headed it room. Once there we realized that even though there are 2 in room, they only gave us 1 breakfast ticket. I went back to front desk and told her what happened. She asked to see my friend's ID to confirm she is of age. For breakfast?? I returned to room to discover my key did not work. I tried knocking but knew my friend would be in shower. I went back down to front desk and talked to same lady a about this problem. She told me that she needed to see my ID. This is her 3rd interaction with me in under 15mins!! She walked me up to room to confirm ID matches my name on room. This is only 1st night and I'm worried what else may happen throughout our stay. So the next morning, I found a half eaten bag of chips and half a dozen dirty plastic spoons. This combined with the check-in experience inspired me to call Marriott. I told a representative what had happened and was told that I would receive something within 3-4 days. I have received an email the same day. It basically said sorry about your confusion and let us know when we can see you again. Seriously?? After all this incompetence they think I'd go back? read more

I stayed here for four nights during my visit to Minneapolis for Super Bowl LII. When we entered our room, we found a clear tote bag (suitable for NFL stadiums) sitting on the coffee table in the living room area. It contained a box filled with complimentary General Mills treats, including Chex Mix, Nature Valley granola bars, and a pepperoni stick, (but sadly no cereal). I'm not sure if these treats were only offered during Super Bowl weekend, but I'm guessing that might be the case. The living room area was nice, with a couch and two chairs. We basically used one chair as a place to pile our coats every night, because we were wearing a lot of coats that weekend! The bathroom was spacious with the vanity separated from the shower and toilet, but we had some issues with the shower and toilet. First, it was impossible to make the water flow completely from the shower head. There was always a small steady steam of water coming out from the tub's faucet. Second, the drain was a bit clogged, so it wasn't long before I was standing in a pile of water. We did report the clogged drain, and they fixed it by our second night. Though they fixed the drain, we continued to experience issues with water pressure. The toilet also didn't flush very well, and I constantly had to flush a second or third time after waiting for 20 seconds or so. They provided complimentary water, but only in the small 8oz sizes. Also, even though we were staying in a double room, they only stocked us with one 8oz bottle a day. Larger sizes were available in the room, but they were $5 each. Were were staying on the 6th floor and could sometimes connect to the lobby Wifi from our room. In any case, I had a Marriott Rewards card which allowed me to receive free Wi-Fi during the entire stay. Overall the stay was nice. If it wasn't for the bathroom issues, I would give this place four stars. I can see why this hotel would be appealing to folks who don't want to go to downtown daily, but in future visits to Minneapolis, I'd probably choose to stay closer to downtown (p.s. Lyft prices to downtown are about $20 or so). read more

We had a WebFOCUS user conference at the Marriott and they had great amenities. The conference room was huge and comfortable. The technical aspects were perfect. I entered the room and got a great Caribou coffee. Love the Caribou. I ended up having two. We had a buffet for lunch with parmesan chicken, broccoli spears, risotto, beef raviolis with a wonderful creamy sauce, a wonderful Caesar salad, some artichoke and tomato salad. The raviolis were smooth, yet filling. The sauce could have used some more seasoning. For beverages, they had iced tea if you wanted it. I didn't try the rolls, but my friend said they were fantastic! The food was very much like a wedding buffet, but it was solid. A great convention space! read more

I was here for a wedding, and the banquet hall was very nice. It was well organized, with well trained staff. The catering staff was attentive to details and my water glass was always full. Staff was never far away if we had any questions or an issue arised. The whole reception worked as a well oiled machine. Food was surprisingly good for banquet food. The chicken was moist (what?! what banquet chick isn't dry..) and produce was fresh. Halls are nice, with a great fancy/upscale vibe. I didn't stay in the hotel, only in the event halls, but from a glance the hotel looked nice. A little unorganized for my personal taste, but I also think it's the whole 'open floor plan' vibe that's in currently. I heard the rooms were very nice with a separate door to help keep the noise to a minimum so you could actually sleep. But there also were a bunch of kids spending the weekend for a tournament, so that doesn't help. I'm not sure if I would come back, (but I also live so close, where would it be even worth it??). But if another event occurs here, I certainly wouldn't complain. read more

I used to stay here all the time but their cleanliness started getting really bad and I had no choice but switch hotels. It seemed as if every time I checked in the room was dirty. The last straw was when i found the bed sheets looked used when I removed the bedspread and there were multiple pubic hairs on the bed. The manager was very apologetic but being that this was the 4th time I encountered cleanliness issues, I did not believe his claim that this time he would make sure it never happens again. Oh and to top it off? I ordered room service and my meal had a hair in it too! Someone must of been shedding in that hotel! read more

Stayed here for two nights as we were attending the State Fair. When we first got there we noticed the toilet was a mess. After cleaning it ourselves we left for the state fair leaving a 5$ tip for housekeeping. When we came back late at night we were surprised housekeeping had not come. However, after looking around we noticed they took the 5$ tip without doing anything else. Sheets were not changed, no new towels, beds not touched, no new trash bags. The second morning we got woken up at 8:30am by housekeeping as they tried to enter the room, good thing our security lock was on. About an hour and a half later, 10am, housekeeping came back and woke up my brother up and asked when we were leaving. Checkout is at 11, however we felt rushed to get out of there. Would not reccomend a stay at this location. read more

I travel quite often for work and this, by far, was the worst experience! I talked to the hotel associate before booking and upon his insistence, I booked the concierge level room, priced almost 60$ more than the regular room for 3 nights of my stay. To my utter disappointment, I checked in and arrived at my room to find hair strands on the towels and body hair strands in the bed. Called the guest service for them to say no housekeeping could be provided then! As per the associate's description, there was nothing special about concierge level - no wine bottle, no hor d'ouevres or definitely no wifi! Even after paying for wifi, the connection sucks. The housekeeping is sloppy! They said I had the privacy sign on my door when I had the sign that requests housekeeping services. When I call guest service again the same message, so I'm left with no towels or toiletries for 2 days. The ac in this room doesn't work properly so I'm stuck in a humid atmosphere, my room is right next to the freeway and they deny me a better quieter room, instead ask me to sleep with the tv switched on! Why the hell would I want to pay for concierge level room for this kind of service? Looks like it was just a sales pitch when the associate spoke great services on this level. Will not stay at this hotel again - being a Marriott rewards member, it is an insult to the Marriott chain. read more

Marriott always come through! Clean and comfortable rooms. The bathrooms have plenty of countertop space for your toiletries and the shower has a ledge to rest your shampoo, conditioner, and other items. The rooms are CLEAN; a huge plus! There is a Caribou coffe shop in the lobby (yay!). Breakfast and Wi-Fi are included with your room charge. Their onsite restaurant is yummy without being overly pricey. I had the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and it was delish. The staff is extremely nice and help you with what you need, even before you ask. How do they know? Seriously, super nice and friendly. There are some large events here; when in the suite, you can hear the noise in the front room which is more of a living space. Cannot hear the noise in the back room which is the bedroom. Thanks Marriott! read more

This review is based on my experience at a conference I attended recently. The space was very suitable for the conference, with spacious areas for checking in, vendor displays, and good-sized breakout rooms (to seat about 30-40 people) on two floors. Plenty of parking, and easy on-off highway 94. The lunch set-up was particularly nice with a lot of separate areas and different stations in two different places, preventing long wait times. The rooms are pretty large with a living room and two TVs. My room was in an area where it was pretty loud with the air conditioning or water. they are very friendly here but they did mess up on my room service order a couple of times. This location is right by the freeway. read more

This is now a Marriott, which is how I ended up here...in fact, it's the only "all-suite" Marriott I know. The reason for this is that the building was clearly intended to be an Embassy Suites (I'd stayed at one in San Francisco just the week prior, and boy, talk about deja vu). This naturally invites a side-by-side comparison between the two chains and even though I'm a Marriott Platinum, I really wish I could stay at Embassy Suites more often (I can't. Corporate agreement). Specifically: - Space. Embassy Suites: a suite every time. Marriott: the very VERY occassional upgrade, even for frequent travellers - Breakfast. Embassy Suites: good selection, included (which means all other guests are included as well, this can get noisy/chaotic). Marriott: major $, unless access to concierge lounge. There, it's a relatively small but comprehensive selection in a typically quiet/peaceful setting - Free drinks. Embassy Suites: 2 hour all-you-can-pour-down-the-throat happy hour. Marriott: NOONE drinks for free (unless you practically spend your life at their hotels, in which case they'll give you half a bottle of wine as a welcoming gift) - Appetizers, Embassy Suites: very limited, served with the booze at happy hour. typically carrot and celery sticks and ranch dip, corn chips, salsa, pretzels, cheese sauce. Marriott: again, only in the concierge lounge. There, however, you could get a variety of cheeses, spring rolls/pot stickers, stuffed mushrooms, satays....not all the same time of course. They also serve dessert. Nothing wrong with this Marriott, in fact it is better than many others I've stayed in over the years. I do have somewhat of an addiction to the orange-ginger scented amenities and the beds are second to none. However, it might be a good time for Marriott to realize that they're NOT the only game in town read more

Quite some time passed, and I've had numerous additional stays at this property. It has grown on me. :-) Though the heating / cooling system has not been changed, and i did have a couple of mishaps while a guest, i will say the level of service, responsiveness and attention to customers' needs is solid. The executive lounge breakfast is always prompt, plentiful and filling; the hot snacks after work, followed by a selection of sweets after 7:30, always hits the spot. The gym facility is one of the better ones I've seen at hotels. The expansive lobby offers plentiful comfortable seating, conducive to business talks and friendly chats. And the property has top notch meeting facilities [my company has conducted a number of events here, so i have had a chance to enjoy the professional accommodations and service]. read more

The hotel managed to get my booking wrong. I booked a double queen room for myself and a friend. Months ago. We were given a single (king) bed room and told because the hotel was full, it was the best they could do. There is no free wifi. The hotel is beautiful and clean. Guest service is responsive and helpful. The only complaint was my king suite had no microwave. Being on the 7th floor I was told none of the rooms had them. I guess I should of asked before at check in. I was told the lounge area had a microwave open 24/7. I didn't bother being I would have to come all the way down. Not a big deal....But Check out is 11am. I woke up to housekeeping in my bedroom around 9:30am. I was in bed with my boyfriend and woke to a lady asking me when I was going to leave. We were there for a wedding and after a long night of drinking at the reception, That was disturbing to see someone in my room asking when we were going to LEAVE. The do not disturb sign was put on the door. I'm a bit upset knowing someone was in my hotel room knowing we were sleeping and she had the nerves to wake me. Clearly you can see we were not going anywhere! Our privacy was not important it seemed. Whatever the cause, it was awkward! We had guest on our pull out bed and when they left they made sure the do not disturb sign was up at 9am. To add.... When I came to the living area, My room door was not closed at all. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. Our wedding party had blocked rooms and I hope no one else had this issue. It's a nice hotel and very cozy but the privacy issue should be addressed. read more

The rooms were great with the living room and the bedroom each having televisions! He was able to watch his games and I was able to watch what I wanted! We had a room on the side that faces the highway though, so we ended up hearing a lot of traffic. Once the tv was turned on, though, we did not hear the highway noise much. Stayed here recently for a conference. The hotel is very nice, and well looked after. Our room was located on the 8th floor. The openness of the centre area of the hotel was quite nice. Our suite consisted of the den area, bathroom, and a nice bedroom. There were two flat screen TV's. The room was clean, and had central air. It was also very quit as we could not hear anything from any other rooms which is always nice. The bathroom was large and bright. My only complaint there was the shower was lacking water pressure and was not fully enclosed. As far as a conference/convention centre, this place was great. They have a ton of room. I'm already looking forward to going back next year. The catering they did was great as well. My only other complaint is that you have to pay for wi-fi. read more

My son and I stayed here for 4 days. We were in town for his hockey tournament. The hotel was very clean, the rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable. The lobby is very cozy with many sitting areas and the restaurant had a great social atmosphere. Food was good too. The front desk personnel were very friendly. I was on my way out and my son needed a tissue (he was fighting a cold). I went into the 24 hour store to buy a travel pack and they didn't have them. So I went to the front desk and asked for a couple of tissues and I was given a box of tissues. I offered to pay for them and she wouldn't accept pmt. This is only one of a couple examples of the employees going above and beyond. I will definitely stay here again. read more

In town for a hockey showcase and fortunately the team chose this Marriott hotel. Upon arrival, we were met by Gwen with the news that our room was not yet available - they were trying to quickly turn a number of rooms to accommodate the teams moving in for the weekend. She kindly took my number and called as soon as it was ready. The lobby is well appointed with an impressive fitness center, much better than your typical hotel. Room upgrades were not available as the hotel was booked, however I was in a king suite with sofa pull-out on the concierge floor. The room had a separate sitting area which is idea when spending more than a couple of nights. In the evening, the concierge lounge offered an assorted dessert selection, candies, coffee, tea, beverages and liquor, beer or wine for a small fee. Lee kept the lounge impeccably clean and he was pleasant and accommodating. Only drawback of my room was that I couldn't be 100% certain my bedding had been changed (couldn't help but think of the hurried state the staff was in when we arrived). My son was lounging on the bed when we got to our room, however at bedtime, turning back the duvet revealed sheets that didn't have that fresh, crisp feel. That, and an unwanted hair. Yuk. We slept on top of the duvet that night with our blanket from home. We addressed this with housekeeping in the morning. Unless you are a reward member (we are gold), there is a charge for wi-fi and breakfast. I found the breakfast buffet chock full of variety, but $17++ was a bit pricey. Eat a big breakfast to get your money's worth! Overall, the staff couldn't be friendlier. Gwen provided the magic moment of remembering my name each time I saw her and Dylan in the restaurant delivered exceptional service the evening we decided to dine-in. We were also greeted warmly each time we saw Michael, Sr. Would stay here again should our travels bring us back to MN. read more

My fiancé and I have spent the weekend here on two different occasions. Both times, the mirrors have had hand prints and smudges on them and there was hand prints on the headboard.. Doesn't leave much to the imagination when trying to have a romantic weekend. This past weekend, we showed up about two hours after check in time and were told our room was not yet ready, due to the rooms being sold out the night before. They offered us two double beds instead of the king that we had already reserved. I did not see why we would have to sleep in a small bed because they were too understaffed to clean the rooms on time. After voices this, we were told we were being upgraded to the executive suite... There was fake eye lashes on our tv stand, in addition to the previously listed hand prints everywhere, tape on the walls from a party and stains all over the couch. Just gross sh*t Everywhere. Needless to say, we will not be returning. read more

This is the second time we've stayed here and probably the last. Although the rooms are nice and the service staff are well trained and friendly the fact that Marriott continues to charge for in-room wireless service is beyond annoying. It is surprising that Marriott continues to do this when even far less expensive hotels have given up this practice. read more
