On the way home from a camping trip we wanted to stop for lunch. I found Minnesota Nice Cafe on yelp and we decided to stop. The food was amazing. I had the bacon cheese burger and the seeded bun reminded me of an everything bagel. The seasoning on the bun was perfect with the seasoning of the burger patty. My other half had the Load em up Spuds and was impressed. He liked the taco flavor with the hash browns and egg. The only drawback was the wait to get the food. It was busy, but the wait seemed a bit long for two meals. All in all I would return if in the area again. read more

This place has a great atmosphere. Great food. Great wait staff. Great host. The restaurant smells so delicious upon entering. If you go for breakfast I would suggest getting there early. It fills up. Thank you MNC for your great service. Also my wife waited over a year to have your hummingbird cake and it was amazing!! This app only allows me to give 5 stars. This seems like a popular place to eat and Bemidji and I'm wondering why. I mean it's basically Perkins/Country Kitchen, just local. The food isn't bad, just normal diner breakfast food. Hash browns are a little bland, as well as some of the other food, but I don't eat meat so that might be the kicker of why my food isn't the greatest. Customer service is really great, servers are nice. Always a little busy but I only had to wait once, and it wasn't for long. read more

Family of 4 first time here. Friendly service with a smile. We ordered breakfast and a taco salad. I had the omelet with wild rice in it, I asked if I could add mushrooms to it, baby reds and pancakes. If you're thinking this sounds like a lot, it is!! The omelet was delicious! This place was delicious with huge portions. I got the wild rice skillet with eggs over easy and added sautéed mushrooms from a different skillet. It was insanely good. It had melted cheese on top and was so creamy and delicious. I wish I could have it again weekly! My husband loved his chicken fried steak, my kids loved their blueberry pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes and French toast. Super good, large portions and decently priced. We had the something Jack / Jill breakfast. The wait for the food was close to 45 minutes. Hash browns were burnt. Sausage was not good. My well done eggs were runny. I love restaurant pancakes. A Bemidji icon we decided to have breakfast here when we recently visited the town. Ordered the lumberjack breakfast. It had 2 eggs over easy, baby reds, sausage and we added cranberry wild rice bread. I was very pleased with the breakfast. The potatoes were very good as was the sausage. The bread, which I was told was a must order, was very good also. The staff was friendly and the service was very good. Overall, a good place for breakfast. read more

(Which is a good thing right?) they seated 4 of us very quickly within about 3 minutes. 2 of us ordered the breakfast special for $7.50, we also had a servings of eggs benedict and country fried steak. I had never been to the cafe before and was blown away by the fast and friendly service and the delicious, high-quality food. Have not found any restaurants like this in St. Louis (MO) yet. I'm in town working on a pipeline project, Ordered steak and eggs (medium well) and also pancakes. Steak was sub par and tough. Pancakes tasted closer to cornbread rather than pancakes. Came all the way back to my hotel only to sit down and see they gave me no napkins or plastic wear to eat my food! Another disappointing food experience in Bemidiji. The gravy didnt taste like anything and could probably be used to build houses and the chicken fried steak tasted like it was frozen for 2 hours and someone microwaved it it also had a rancid flavor and was expired. We were in town and got high reviews so we decided we had to check this place out. We got there the place was packed we had a big group so had to wait little bit, ppl were nice. Then we got seated and finally got our order placed then we waited and waited and waited never saw our waitress no one checked on us ppl came and went we finally asked about our order. The bad part of it was we had two small children with our group that were very hungry so the wait was way to much for the 1 yr old we had to take him out side to occupy him. I am happy when we finally got our food everything was hot. Food tasted good but service ruined my review. I am very sorry. read more

Great restaurant! The food and service were terrific! Wish I'd had room for dessert but portions were plentiful and there wasn't any extra room. The whole place was decorated nicely with cute paintings on the wall. Lots of nice artwork and photography for sale as well as a cute little gift shop. I would definitely be a regular if I lived in Bemidji. I had the Rueben. Just perfect! My fellow diners had the ham/broccoli special. Comfort food at it's best!! My daughter had the hamburger. The kid's meal includes a full size burger on a seeded/toasted bun. My child didn't like the bun...but I did. The hamburger Patty was juicy and deliciously seasoned. And it came with Jello. Nice job with the walleye, not something that is so easy. The cole slaw is a full blown salad with big pieces of vegetable and bacon. The wild rice is delicious and a perfect side for walleye. The pie crust is excellent, and I am something of an expert on that. read more

Oh, breakfast doesn't get much better than the MN Nice Cafe! Come with an empty stomach and be prepared to leave with it full, because you're gonna want to eat everything on your plate. We had a stop over in Bemidji on our way home from a road trip weekend and began tootling around the downtown district when we happened upon the cafe that night. I noticed that it had gotten great reviews from other Yelpers and we decided to head their the next morning. What a homecookin' treat that was! Between the two of us, we had pancakes, sausage, eggs, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy! We tried but couldn't quite eat all of it, but we did give a valiant effort. The eggs were flavorful (which you don't always get at a restaurant unless they're organic or cage-free), pancakes were fluffy, sausage had just the right amount of spices, hash browns were cooked to the perfect blend of crunchy and softness, and the biscuits and graver were out of this world! Moist biscuits and a great gravy that was spicier and had more flavor than you usually get with the dish (almost tasted like they added red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to it...whatever they did, it works)! The service was great too. It was just nearing the end of the busy morning rush, but still there were many tables of customers and we were never left waiting for an extended amount of time for anything! Impressive! You have to stop here for a satisfying meal. They do have lunch options, but let's be serious...with these breakfast options, why try anything else! read more
