Nice apple orchard with a bunch of things for small kids. If you don't have a young one, you'll likely find yourself getting bored. There is a corn maze, a couple of trains, a petting zoo, a couple of playgrounds, and a few other things for kids. The layout of the place is fairly scattered and to make it worse, you don't get any directions or instructions. The donuts were good, but didn't try any other foods. We went MEA weekend and it was pretty busy, but there weren't any apples to pick, kind of defeating the intention of going. All in all, it was a fine experience, but a little pricey for what you get. With a little tweaking/TLC, it could easily be a 5 star experience. read more

Very underwhelming. The petting zoo had 3 animals. The tractor ride doesn't even take you out to the Apple picking area, it just takes you on a loop. The corn maze was pretty much what we expected, although we had a stroller and got stuck in the muck a lot. Disappointed by the lack of food and beverages available as well. Overcharged at the gate two years in a row. It was very stressful because of the long lines, didn't think about how much we were chg'd until later. So I had to go back to get refund and of course they don't give you a receipt. Very awkward! Then the coupon for free face paint wasn't free and the coupon for the "train" ride also required additional money. We paid $36.00 for two bags of apples. We did enjoy the short hayride and the donuts and coffee. But feeling a little ripped off. $7 admission for a four year old? Really?? Not to mention the $7 per adult. read more

Great place to day-date. Lines for most things were a bit long (waited 20 minutes in line for brats), and a bit on the expensive side (admission for two = $14, pick 5 lbs of apples = $18, and two apple brats = $11). Worth it though in my book. Brats and apples were quite tasty! read more

Nice October trip to the apple orchard with the family. Fantastic apple cider and carmel apples! Long lines for apple donuts though. Quaint barn with gifts and apple products to purchase. Lots more to do with more time. Hay rides, petting zoo, corn maze, etc. Great family venue and very nice staff. We will be returning in the future. read more

I went to Minnetonka Orchards for the first time last week and it was so much fun! Going on a weekday was good because it wasn't as busy, and we got to roam around the grounds. Everyone who worked there was really friendly and clearly loved their job (they could have had more signage on where to go for info, but anyone we asked helped us.) Make sure you stop at the donut shack up by the barn/shop because their apple donuts + cider are so good! Apples seem pricey but it was worth it for all the fun. read more

We were disappointed with our experience at Minnetonka Orchards. Our main reason for going was to pick a bag of apples. We couldn't figure out where to go to find the apple bags to do so and the staff in the gift store were not helpful in helping us locate. We looked at the already picked small white bags like you find at the grocery store and they were priced $18-$19 a bag!! We bit the bullet and bought one so we could leave but then when we went to cut into them at home, most had brown spots inside that looked rotten. I have attached pictures. Also the petting zoo animals seemed terrified as they were cornered by hoards if people in their pens. We will not be returning. read more

Cute orchard, fun date like activity for a couple of hours. Went on a Sunday evening shortly before the closing. Took a hay ride, got a tasty hot apple cider, enjoyed fresh apple donuts on a hillside observation deck looking over a tree filled woods. We've been bringing the kids here for the past couple of years. I like that they allow me to bring my dog along. We have fun picking apples, eating brats and burgers and the kids like playing on the train and play structure. The apples are a bit overpriced at $35 for a bag of Sweetango apples, but I guess there's no other option if you want to bring home a bag-o-apples. Employees are friendly and this is a great place for the kids to burn off some energy on a nice Fall day. read more

We got married at Minnetonka Orchards in July 2017 (ceremony + reception) and we have too many good things to say about the venue and staff to fit on this page! The venue itself is so unique and gorgeous..they have a brand new tent, the venue is full of flowers and greenery that are so well cared for, there is a small petting zoo that was a big hit with the guests, tons of lawn games, different areas to walk around and sit, and options for hay rides, fire pit, and so forth. Not only were out of town guests blown away, but even the local MN guests couldn't get over the venue. The venue also provides lots of extras if you want (vases, chalkboards, easels, etc) at no extra cost. Most importantly, Kelly - the owner - was indescribably helpful, accessible, knowledgeable, and communicative during our stressful year of wedding planning from across the country! She helped us every step of the way and was a calming voice of reason when we had various things go awry during planning (factors that were unrelated to the venue!). Kelly was so professional and on top of things, and trusting her throughout the whole planning process was beyond helpful. Carly, one of the many wonderful orchard staff members, even handmade our seating charts, welcome signs, etc. The day of the wedding, we had some unfortunate DJ/music issues and Kelly swooped right in to help, offering up her own speakers and music devices if needed. It's one week later and we still can't believe how much we lucked out with Kelly, the truly magical venue and the amazingly competent staff. We SO highly recommend Minnetonka Orchards if you're looking for an outdoor venue with a beautiful indoor/outdoor tented reception area (and great option for inclement weather). read more

Charge for 7-8lbs apples in the upick section was $32. The selection was limited to one variety and it was pretty picked over. The trees were quite short which wasn't much of a challenge for us, but could be a plus for smaller kids. There were a lot of families enjoying the hay ride, animal petting zoo, and hay hill. The apple barn was nice with lots of fall merchandise to buy. The food was pretty good too. We liked the apple donuts and cider. While we enjoyed out trip, it was more expensive than other orchards in the area that we have been to. read more

I had my wedding at the Minnetonka Orchards on 8/13/17. My husband and I are so grateful for Kelly and the Orchards staff. They were so generous and understanding and made sure that our wedding was everything we've ever dreamed! There were a few miscommunication emails in the planning process but Kelly was always more than willing to help clarify Orchards policies for my husband and I. Another thing I would like to say is that if you are planning to have your wedding at the Orchards, there might be a chance they'll bring visitors around to check out the ceremony grounds. It wasn't a huge deal since the visitors came before the ceremony started but just in case if it bothers you. We also didn't get a heads up so we were a bit shocked random people were at the wedding site the day of. Nonetheless, the Orchards were amazingly beautiful. I also had about 350 guests so if you have a huge wedding and want to bring an outside caterer, I would recommend this venue for you! Happy wedding planning. read more

My family and I decided to try the orchards on Sun, 9/28 because their web site says pick your own apples. We were charged $7 per family member before we entered and soon found out after we paid that pick your own apples was not an option that day. A woman running the register in the little store rudly said to a customer " what do you expect us to do.....we are picked dry." What I expect as a paying customer is for them to be honest and let their customers know there are no apples to pick today. That gives us the option to choose if we want to pay the $7 to visit the orchards and not feel taken advantage of. Other orchards are clearly stating on their web page that they are picked out, but not on theirs. It's dishonest and not good business. We are very disappointed and will not be back. read more

My husband and I got married here this summer. It's really an amazing and special place! All the staff are wonderful and so helpful - they were responsive whenever I had a question about the planning process and they were attentive the day of the wedding. You can tell that they've taken the time make a great event site and that they really care about making sure your event goes well. What a rip-off! $6 person to get in, $29 for pick your own apples. The $6 included two tickets if you were under 12 years old for one little train ride and a face paint. Don't waste your time to drive so far for nothing. read more

We did not enjoy our day here. There were probably over a thousand visitors and not enough things to do or facilities for so many people. The $7 entry charge is higher than most other similar places and they had the nerve to charge extra for a small train ride for the younger kids. A ticket taker approached 4-5 year olds sitting on the train if they had money on them as opposed to charging the parents before the child already sat down. As I said, for $7 admission it should have been for free. We waited on line close to a half hour for a short hay ride which drove a short way up the hill and dropped people off at their "country store" and where they had additional food options and where there were hundreds of bees. The bees were also everywhere on their lawns near the picnic benches and most everywhere. At first we thought the tractor pulled hay ride was to be a scenic tour, we should've realized that in such a place it was onlynto encourage people to spend more money. We bought apple muffins in their store. Horrid! The shape of a muffin but more like a yeast cake sticky roll which the bees enjoyed. We ate a bit and threw them out. The final problem we had was with the gross condition of their bathroom. Filthy, neglected, in disrepair. The playgrounds were nothing special, much less than any of the area parks. People must really be desperate to go to such a place which is obviously solely a money grabbing enterprise. They give as little as possible to make the most momey from it. read more

We love this orchard and go at least once a year. It's great for little kids, but those who are 8 or 9 might be a little bit bored. They currently have a pumpkin patch in the shape of a maze, along with the hayride, corn maze, goats, train, corn silo with a slide and giant hay bale. If you go, be sure not to skip the apple doughnuts! They are definitely best eaten hot. read more

My fiancé and I got a Living Social for $20 for admission and food tickets. When we got there, we were not even given the option to pick apples, they didn't even offer us a bag. Who put a Living Social up for an Apple Orchard and does not even advertise or tell you how to get the apples?? The place was was a disaster. First, it's not for those people that just want to get out of the cities and wander around for a day date. We went this past Saturday in September and there were kids EVERYWHERE. It was so loud, the moms were yelling at their kids out loud. I feel bad for those people that were holding their wedding right by the all the kid slides and jungle gym. At the food stand, the burgers were cooked from frozen (fine whatever) but the garnish was out and flies all over the place. The moms I mentioned earlier just let their kids run around and touch everything. It was a mess. I suggest everyone to go to Montgomery Orchards. Now they have apples and activities and you will feel like you are at a REAL apple orchard! Two bags of apples with your admission!! read more

I really enjoyed going here, but didn't care for their apples (seriously!?). We went to 2 orchards that day and this one definitely had the atmosphere and food we were seeking. Their pork chops are amazing and we enjoyed the view while we sat and ate. It is a beautiful property, we went around 3:00 and it was busy but not crowded at all. read more

I went to this orchard on Friday. They charged a 6$ entry fee. Their web site stated that they only charged the fee for weekends and this was not the case. Their apples were way overpriced. Charging 22$ a peck for Honey crisp apples and 14$ (on sale for 33% off ) for Harilson apples. This is VERY expensive. They do not sell apples by the bushel. (4 pecks to a bushel) . The only positive review I can give was when I asked for my entrance fee back they did refund it with no questions asked. I was able to get a bushel of apples for 38$ at a competitor and they didn't charge an entry fee. There are much better orchards out there. Don't waste your money on this one. read more

It was a nice place but I wont go back. They charge admission which is okay but then the smallest amount of apples you can pick is a peck at $24. I now have enough apples to last weeks. They only opened a couple rows of trees for picking. There weren't any apples in those rows low enough for kids to pick, and very few even for adults to pick. Employees were making sure we didn't move to other rows. They were extremely rude and were yelling at the kids, including my 5 year old.. Finally a couple people tried to get their money back and after an argument they opened 2 more short rows for picking. lIke I said, it's a nice place, the amenities are nice, but I wont go back. read more
