Came in on last minute appointment for a routine check up and cleaning. I had the privlige of having Patsy do the cleaning and she was amazing. I was having problems with one of my teeth and she was determined to find the issue. Such attention to detail along with a genuine and caring spirit. She also addressed my gum line sensitivity and explained that i need a mouth guard to precent clenching and grinding which is what evetually causes bone issues which leads to senstivity to hot and cold. BEWARE - I should have read reviews before booking an appointment here because they wasted my time. I booked a 9:00am appointment on a weekday, and as a new patient, I arrived 15 minutes early. I sat in the waiting room from 8:45am to 10:20am. I did the routine x-rays and then the teeth whitening molds/trays that they apparently do for free. At this point, they were running so incredibly late that I received a confirmation text confirming that my 9:00am appointment was rebooked to 10:45am. When the hygienist finally arrived for my cleaning, the entire process took less than 5 minutes for cleaning and fluoride. My teeth felt noticeably less clean than any other routine dentist visit I've had in the past. Apparently, they don't have their primary dentist check the hygienists' work afterward, so quality control is clearly NO a matter of importance since this is a standard practice. I had a work meeting and had to leave just after 11:00am even though I requested the primary dentist to check my teeth. I requested a follow up appointment for the following week. Fast forward to my follow-up appointment today that I booked for 8:00am and I wasn't seen until 8:20. My Negative Experience with Mint Dentistry Houston Greenway Location I visited Mint Dentistry at the Houston Greenway location for a dental cleaning and the extraction of two wisdom teeth. During my visit, I received cleaning on 6-7 teeth and had 2 wisdom teeth extracted, for which I paid a total of $3,400. Months after the procedures, I began experiencing sensitivity in one of my teeth. Despite returning to the clinic multiple times, I was repeatedly told--after X-rays were taken--that everything appeared normal and there was no issue. However, the pain has persisted, and I can't use the affected side of my mouth while eating or drinking due to intense pain. I initially went to the clinic with no pain or discomfort, solely for cleaning and extraction. I believe that the procedure may have caused a crack in the tooth or damage to the gums, which has resulted in ongoing pain. On my most recent visit, I was told that fixing the issue would cost an additional $1,700. I find this unacceptable, as I had no complaints before the procedures, and now I'm left with chronic pain after paying a large amount for treatment. I'm sharing this experience to inform others who may be considering this clinic. I hope my review helps someone make a more informed decision. read more

Wow! Let me just say, I appreciate professionalism so much and the staff at MINT have it all the way down! Since moving to HTX, I've been in search of my new dentist. A couple of weeks ago, I visited one (a very fancy one) but did not enjoy my experience; so, I was a tad nervous walking into Mint. However, within a few seconds of walking in, I realized that I was in good hands. I was greeted immediately and given one final form to sign. PRO TIP: fill out all the forms online because they can be lengthy. I did, and as a result, I only needed to sign one or two more forms inside. Afterwards, I called to the back after only waiting about 5mins. Score! The office is very high tech and modern; from the X-ray machines to the tools they use to take images of your teeth, to the amenities they provide to make your experience as comfortable as possible. Even at the "fancy" place they didn't offer me half as much. Mint offers snacks, a comfy seating area, comfy dentist chair, and a choice of streaming service to watch or music to listen to. I chose music and jammed out to some 90s R&B while I got my cleaning and consultation for future work. I was finished in no time and I was given my goody bag which consists of the usual: dental floss, toothpaste and toothbrush... but, you also get a free pair of MINT sunglasses and a MINT chapstick. Ok let me start off by saying I have borderline genuine phobia of the dentist which I'm ashamed to admit it scared me away for YEARS ! I started having tooth pain and reluctantly booked a appointment. I told staff about my dental fear and anxiety which they responded with understanding and reassurance. So far I had a cleaning, 2 cavities filled and a wisdom tooth plus another removed by doctor Young and doctor Appa (sp?) and they both did amazing ! The dental assistant was amazing as well, reassuring through both procedures and telling me how great of a job I was doing ! I was so nervous for the wisdom tooth removal because it's only local numbing used but I didn't even feel a thing ! They also have a good financial plan and work with you and your budget. Everything looks nice and modern and staff seem friendly, but the services offered for my deep cleaning and fillings left me extremely sensitive and in pain for weeks and was very expensive even with good insurance. They also collected my insurance info multiple times and then said they didn't and couldn't verify and cancelled my follow up appointments twice. I went to a private practice instead and got a 100% better experience. I regret going to Mint. read more

I had a great experience at MINT dentistry! I don't have dental insurance so I signed up for the discount plan ($130 for a year) and $60 /cleaning + free whitening. I think it is well worth it compared to the dental insurance I was offered through school. The staff was all very friendly and Dr Shaw was an amazing dentist! She answered all of my questions and was very professional. On top of that each exam room has massage chairs and netflix! 10/10 would recommend read more

We went here because my wife had a minor toothache. After the x-rays Dr. Lopez said my wife needed over 7 thousands worth of dental work. I believe he said 2 root canals and a crown cap. They brought in their financial agent to offer a financial payment plan. We refused services. Went to my old dentist who moved away from our area. My wife only needed 2 fillings which were done in about 1 1/2 hours. I think everyone should get a second opinion when dealing with these big fancy dental offices. read more

Whoooaaaa! The Red Carpet or shall I say the Mint Green carpet was rolled out for me today at the Mint Dentistry Greenway Houston. I am habitual and very OCD about my smile, teeth and gums so I wanted to find the perfect Dentist after my former Dentist moved on in a new career. I often see the MINT Billboards around Houston and really appreciated the marketing behind it all. So I decided to book an appointment and try them! I'm so happy I did. First off, you are greeted by very cheerful, pretty and sweet staff. All with great smiles of course. And the greetings were not fake or forced. The front desk ladies were extremely nice and genuinely want to assist you. I really like how polite everyone is to you and each other. I heard many "thank you's and I appreciate you" while I was waiting in the front room and while in my dental chair. Kudos!!!! Dr. Lopez is my new Dentist and he was very nice and explanatory. They were super busy today too and he still managed to take his time and described to me what was planned for my visit. Ms. Daneesha and Ms. Mila were my Hygienists and X Ray techs. They were both so awesome! So gentle and accommodating. I could barley tell when Mila was inside my mouth cleaning up all those coffee stains. And wow! Gifts to take home too?! I mean Wow!! Going to Dentist is now way more fun and rewarding. The Ladies sent me off with my Whitening Kit, which was FREE for all PPO Dental Insurance Carriers, MINT Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Floss, cool Sun Glasses and Lipstick! Love it!! This location is the absolute worst and has absolutely no regard for patients time. This is the second time I have had an appointment and was not seen until more than an hour after my scheduled appointment time because the "dentist was doing a treatment." While sitting in the chair waiting for my cleaning I received a email that my 1:30 appointment was being rescheduled to 3:00pm. When I went to the front desk to inquire as to what exactly was going on I was told and I quote "Appointment times are only an estimate and if I wanted to get in and out I should come in the mornings." I was actually really excited to go mint..so much that I canceled my initial appointment with my old dentist. When I got there, I felt kind of pushed to the side. They gave me a thing to fill out on a computer that took me about 10 minutes but then I got to the signature part and it froze. I understand that there's some technical problems so they gave me paper instead which was fine. Someone walked out and called my name and asked me what the problem was and I didn't really understand that there was a problem but then she explained that my insurance was still trying to verify. When I booked the appointment, I put my insurance down so I wasn't sure y they could've found out that prior... either way I was kinda turn off at the first questioning while filling out my paperwork... when she called my name again instead of pulling me aside, or explaining what was going on she kind of explained it in front of everyone which made me feel awkward. I explained to her that I needed something done and I wanted a second opinion I didn't mind paying out of pocket and that I understood what she said about my insurance having a grace period. When I asked her about speaking with my insurance, and if she found out how long the grace period was she didn't have a response or answer so I was confused when she asked me if I wanted to reschedule in three months when they didn't know when I could use my insurance. I don't understand why they would call my insurance and not understand how long the grace period was or let me know ahead of time that that was the case instead of having me come all the way out there to be turned away. either way I felt very Disappointed and not helped out. I wish they would've offered more solutions instead of just kind of pushing me out the door. I hate leaving bad reviews. And I really wish I had a different experience. read more

Be extremely wary of their billing rates. They told me they accept MetLife PPO, which I learned is very different from being an in-network provider. For a composite filling (D2394), they billed $495 per tooth. Compared to reasonable & customary charge of $163 (average from MetLife) and 2013 ADA Survey for Dental Fees of $265 (Median 50th percentile, I could not access 2018 report). This was an extremely expensive lesson in in-network v. accepting insurance and ended up costing me over $1,000 out of pocket for 4 cavities. Yes, their office is nice, they have ton of advertising, and provide "free" amenities but it all comes at a cost. As a small bonus, they lost the dental impression for the free whitening tray. read more

My appointment was canceled without any prior notice, I only learned about it when I showed up. The lady at the reception had a terrible attitude and kept insisting they called and messaged me but when I showed her my phone records as clear evidence that this wasn't true, she replied that she didn't understand how my phone worked. I called MINT's customer relations number and left an elaborate voicemail about my experience but no one reached back to remedy the situation. They clearly don't care about the horrible customer service they provide or about keeping their patients long-term. read more

Got a quote for 1 filing and deep teeth cleaning. Only after I booked the appointment to have the work done did they try to confirm my secondary insurance. After confirming the insurance they decided that they didn't want to charge it even though my insurance already said they would cover everything at 100%. This practice wanted me to pay out of pocket first, even though the insurance was going to pay. I personally spoke to my insurance provider who said they just need the itemized bill. The office manager Jasmine, apparently wasn't happy about the extra leg work. Please do your research before scheduling an appointment with them. Oh and the "free whitening" they advertise all across Houston, despite having a PPO plan, it was never offered. read more

I'm really reluctant to write this review because I really wanted to have a good experience... unfortunately, I did not. I want to be really clear on everything that happened, so here you go... starting from the beginning: I arrived at 11:45 for a 12-noon appointment. The office is very stylized and the MINT branding is obvious in the high-end decor (and "Tom Ford" book on the "white marble" coffee table (see attached photo). I was given an iPad to filling out new patient paperwork - that was nice and tech forward. Finished the paperwork.... then was given more paperwork (actual paper on a clipboard) to sign and complete. I asked what one of the papers was for and which box I should check and the office manager said "Oh I will check that for you".... not sure if other people are comfortable blindly signing something when you know a stranger will complete the form for you afterward... but I'm not. Then I waited... and waited... and waited until 12:45 when I was finally called back. A tech (I guess?) called me to the back and was giving me instructions the whole way back to the xray machine, but I couldn't tell you what she said. In fact, just as a general note - everyone there except the office managers and the actual dentist mumbled and were very monotone (so much so that they sounded scripted!!) She took some xrays and then I was told to sit in one of the chairs in a patient room... and she left. Okaaayyyy? So I sat and waited (again) until she finally came back and apparently it was time for more xrays that she did with a hand held x-ray device. She then explained that she was going to take molds for a take-home teeth whitening tray. I've had countless molds taken in my life, but never ever have I had the tray for the top jaw AND the tray for the bottom jaw in my mouth at the same time - until now! I knew something was wrong with the tray on the bottom jaw. Fast forward to when they gave them to me at the end of the appointment... the office manager said "Since your teeth are missing, we cut it so that it will only fit the front six teeth". Excuse me, I HAVE ALL MY TEETH. The mold was not put in my mouth properly and it was literally missing the whole left side of my teeth (see attached photo). So now I have to go back to get the tray on my bottom teeth redone. OK - cut back to me sitting in the chair. After taking the molds, the tech came back and turned on the TV (good choices including Hulu, Netflix, Pandora...) and then just.... left. And I waited AGAIN... and waited... and waited. All this time I could hear the techs and hygienists and office managers talking about who wanted to go to lunch and when everyone was going to go. I also heard all about the man next to me who had "decayed teeth" and what his options were (talk about patient privacy). FINALLY the dentist came in and introduced himself as "Dr. Lopez". He asked if I had any concerns with my teeth and I said no. He took a look at my teeth and said I have a small cavity and that the office manager would come to talk to me about treatment plans. I thought it was a bit strange that he was coming to look at my teeth before I even got them cleaned. Then the office manager came in and gave me pricing. Since I had been at the dentist for almost TWO HOURS at this point and didn't even have my teeth cleaned yet, I declined and said I'd have to come back. The hygienist then came in and cleaned my teeth... if you could even call it that. I asked her to put a tiiiiny bit of numbing cream on my gums because I have sensitive teeth. She loaded me up so much that my tongue, tonsils, lips, gums... and everything between was completely numb! She then started cleaning.. but she only really cleaned the front teeth. The only thing she did to the back teeth was the electric rubber toothbrush (with fluoride?) No talking, no explanations, nothing - just silence (thank goodness the TV was on). Then all of a sudden "OK, there's a sink over there if you want to rinse your mouth with water or mouthwash." and that was that. She walked me to the front and I got a printed version of my treatment plan with an additional $10 credit because of my wait. Apparently, they give $1/min... in which case the whole service should be free because I was there for 2 1/2 hours, got a barely there cleaning, and left literally drooling on myself. Like I said... I REALLY wanted to like this place. But my job is in customer experience and all around it was a real let down. After 2 1/2 hours I left knowing that I would actually have to COME BACK for a replacement whitening tray and to actually take care of the cavity that I have. read more
