It's been a while since I've been to the dentist. It's not always pleasant but would say it is necessary...especially if your insurance is going to pay for it. I was hesitant about going here and it being just a chain place that would suck. I mean they have sassy billboards and radio spots promoting sexy teeth. I grew up going to the same dentist, sitting in the same chair, looking at the same yellowed walls... totally different experience 15 years ago at the traditional dentist. Called to get an appointment and a week later here I am on my way to sexy teeth. This location is convenient. Although I despise this parking lot---people don't follow the arrows--there was no issue getting in and out this time perhaps because we had a morning appointment. As we walked in the receptionists stood to greet us. They smiled and we joked around as we checked in. We were offered water and a snack while we waited. Waiting area is nice and comfortable. Didn't wait long before being called back. Every step was explained. Light massage chair and choice of Netflix or Pandora helps ease the anxiety. X Rays are annoying but part of the process and doesn't take long. Impressions for the whitening trays took just a moment. The tech explained everything and was really nice. The doctor came in and took a look...then time for the cleaning. We joked about it sounding like Mario Bros soundtrack. Once finished, she brought my bag with my new trays and explained how they worked. Bag included whitening gel, full sized whitening toothpaste, sensodine toothpaste, toothbrush and of course floss. We set our next appointment while I was still in the chair and received a text so I could place it on my calendar. Overall easy process and comfortable in an environment I tend to have anxiety about. My wife went here and raved about it. I'm a middle aged white guy which means I don't go to the dentist unless there's a problem. But, she loved it so much and it had been a couple of years so I went. This one is on the second floor of a shopping complex. Parking in the tiny lot is TIGHT! I had made my appointment in person and when I got there I had to do this huge list of questions on an ipad or whatever. Any reason I couldn't do all that before I came in? It took awhile to get through. The lobby is super cute. First they took a bunch of xrays. Both standing and when seated. This was annoying because I didn't request them, nor did I think I needed them. I am highly suspicious of this mandatory activity as I don't think it adds any value to me, which it didn't, but I would guess they charge your insurance for it and make a few bucks there. Kind of annoying and weird. In my younger days, you got examined by the dentist and xrays were only needed for a problem. I know it's all high tech now but hey I should have been given the option to say no. They seated me in one of their chairs. Asked if I wanted to watch Netflix or listen to music. I said no I didn't care. Here's what's weird; There's a big tv in my room and it's playing music from spotify or whatever, and it shows the album cover. Whoever was in there last must have chosen smooth rap or something - the album cover was - I kid you not - a naked woman on a bed in a compromising position. No outright nudity was shown, but highly inappropriate to have that up during your dentist appointment. Thankfully the song soon changed. Dentist came in, gave me a look, said xrays were good, which I already knew, and that I had no cavities. Yay. They left. The other practitioner/nurse? Did my cleaning. I hate these especially now when you don't get to spit. I hate that suction thing and that gritty toothpaste. I got told "DO YOU DRINK COFFEE" which I said yah I'm a white guy. "OH I SEE STAINING HERE" - And your point is....? Didn't say they would remove the stains or that I should do anything moving forward so.... weird. Easy on the flossing please - tasting blood is not something I want in any appointment, ever. When I left I was spitting blood and bits of bone? tartar? toothpaste? All of the above? into the parking lot. God I couldn't wait to get home and RINSE. Had an email when I got home with instructions on how to use the whitening kit they DIDN'T give me. Nor was I told I was geting one. Another charge to my insurance without my consent or knowledge? Will I be getting another wonderful mystery bill in the mail for items insurance magically decides not to cover for some reason? Not a fan. read more

Today (3/13/2024) was my first time at Mint. Booking was easy but insurance verification was a hassle. I got a phone call 30 mins before my appointment telling me to come early because my insurance couldn't be verified. The receptionist asked for my SSN over the phone which I wasn't comfortable with. I offered to email my insurance card but she said I couldn't. I get to the establishment and am met with the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE from the African American lady at the reception desk. It wouldn't be hard to identify who this receptionist is. She could definitely use a customer service training. I assume she was the same person calling me earlier. She was visibly irritated, rude and wasn't helpful at all when I showed up to my appointment. I'm use to a family dentist with good vibes, so this experience was a huge shock to me. Moments later, Another receptionist (white lady) came to me and asked me to email my insurance to them. I thought that was crazy because I offered to email it when they called me on the phone. Anyways, I did what she requested and everything was fine from there. Mint should have the option of uploading your insurance card when you book the appointment or in the new patient paperwork. Very disappointment in Mint with my first visit. I called and set an appointment for 2 weeks out. I have the receptionist my dental coverage card and she advised it was accepted. I showed up for my appointment and filed out the 9 pages of patient information, which took about 20 minutes and they then told me that they don't accept my insurance. Going to the dentist is difficult enough, but in a new city it is even worse. With flashy billboards and over saturated radio ads about "sexy teeth" and a relaxing atmosphere I gave into the hype of Mint Dentistry. I checked out one of their offices last year and signed up for their dental plan, so I thought that I would check out this office. I made my appointment and then called and asked to change the time and was told it was okay. Unfortunately it was not okay as my appointment was supposed to be at 8:30am and I did not get taken back until almost 10am. I told them I had to work at 11:30am, but did not seem to phase them as they took their time with my treatment. The lady that cleaned my teeth seriously needed some additional training as she struggle to floss my teeth. It was painful at times to have her in my mouth. Ultimately I ended up having to leave during treatment so I could make it to work on time. Why adjust my appointment time when you know you can't accommodate me?!? I told this to their automated system and they ended up giving me some credit for my next visit, but couldn't give me a refund for my poor experience. So, I returned today and the experience was better. But, they kept on in insisting on treatment that I did not need (I actually saw another dentist that told me I needed none of the treatment they were insisting that would cost me over $2000). Overall I still have a credit here but I do not think I will be back for cleaning or treatment. I will seek treatment elsewhere. read more

The staff is friendly! I personally think they're over priced and they need to clean up the waiting area. The windows and doors are horrible looking. Some of the furniture has stains on them, the carpet could stand to be cleaned and it was so much dust on the tables you could cut it with a knife. Also make sure they're in your network because if not they won't tell you so you could end up with a large out of pocket expense. I found them on Texas AM on channel 8. read more

I have been going to this location for awhile. First off ... I DO NOT LIKE DENTIST PERIOD. So must have been looking pretty nervous. Candice was the young lady assigned to do my cleaning . She was very professional and made me feel at ease. I have to come back to finish the cleaning and will make sure I request Candice. Doctor Mohamity(may not be spelling it correctly) performed 2 fillings. She did so with very little discomfort so I really feel more at ease on my next visit. Thank you both . read more

I don't think I've ever said that I enjoyed a visit to the dentist, but I did at Mint Dentistry. I selected the practice and location after hearing the radio commercials. I made my appointment online. The wait was quite awhile after my set appointment, but they give you $1 per minute towards any future service so that's nice. I got free whitening trays and gel made since I have PPO dental insurance. My cleaning went well. I got to listen to the music of my choice. The personnel at Mint are all personable, friendly and helpful. read more

2nd visit at this location and I am absolutely pleased with the level of care they provide at Mint dentistry. Everyone at the receptionist desk was ALL helpful greeted me with kindness and beautiful smiles ! I got checked in very quickly my wait time was not long at all. Dr. Hardaway, Karley, and Liz took great care of me, explained every process to me, I didn't leave in pain, no cavities AND I got to watch Netflix . This isn't just a company that comes the radio and advertise how good they are this is real great service I happy and I got some new shades this time too ! I didn't wait long but they did a TON of X-rays & then told me I needed EIGHT fillings & had numerous cavities. The dentist even described my teeth as "dead and rotting"- excuse me? And then acted very upset when I said I would be getting a second opinion & I had to call the office again later for the X-ray copies I had requested. I've only ever had one cavity & filling EVER. VERY disappointed with my experience here and I do NOT recommend. $4600 estimate later & I now understand where they get the money for their billboards. Nice staff, only reason I am giving 2 stars is because they milk insurance companies. I have not been to the dentist in a very long time so I thought I would give my first experience in a long time to Mint Dentistry since I recently gained the resources to get dental insurance. Was a bad decision. I came out of the exam with $700 charged to my insurance for just an exam, when I could have went to another more local dentistry to get the same exam for $50-$60. Now my insurance does not have as much money in it just for a short exam, that ended with them wanted to charge me over $11000 to fix the rest of my teeth. I think its not fair to charge this much since my insurance covers up to $2500, so now there goes $700 of that for a short exam that could have been used in a much better way, like actual procedures on my teeth. If I had went to another dentistry I would only pay $50-$60 for an exam that gives the same information that the $700 at Mint gave me. I talked to other dentistry's and looks like I will for sure be switching from Mint to someone else, pricing of a $3900 procedure here is $1300 at another dentistry. Everything is sooooooo over priced to milk as much from the insurance as possible, and the only way to have them not milk it is if you go on a "discount plan" where you have to pay the full amount in cash up front. Even in that scenario, the pricing was still more expensive then other dentistry's in the area!! (Although definitely more fair, but still overpriced) Do yourself a favor and ask as many questions about insurance pricing before trying to fix your teeth here, I was shocked to see how much they milk insurance. I came out of the experience thinking the staff was nice but knowing I will not come back due to wayyy overpriced work. I have an appointment with another dentistry coming up this week and I am going to get basically the same exact exam for $60, and I asked how much will it cost to do the same work that Mint offered and it was so much less expensive. Please watch out for the dental offices trying to get as much money from your insurance! Your insurance money will end up getting used on an exam rather than actual work on your teeth. I only have regret now, since I can never get that $700 insurance benefit back. Will now just have to work with the rest of the money I got. read more

Went to Mint Dentistry for my girlfriend's teeth cleaning and was accused that we did not confirm our appointment so they cancelled it. They claim to have sent us a text for us to confirm which is a lie. We booked the appointment online the night before for the morning. Now I have a recurring charge for a "Smile more club"... Not sure how I got the charges especially since I never agreed nor asked for it. read more

When I had my first few initial visits at Mint, things were refreshing (haha), but now the waiting time is out of hand. I've visited Mint 6 times now for thing such as: teeth extractions, cavities fillings, and twice a year cleanings. My first time at Mint, as a recommendation by my orthodontist prior to braces, was great. Mint left an amazing impression as there was little to no wait time, sweet service by everyone, free Netflix/ Pandora during your procedure, and glasses to cover your eyes from the light& water. They even offered my boyfriend a tablet and headphones to use while he waited as I got my teeth extracted. My last two visits however, wasn't so smooth. The first bad encounter, 6 months ago, Mint was low on staff as there was only one doctor that day, so I was waiting 2 hours exact. People before me were complaining non-stop, and even asking for life time supplies of teeth whitening. I stayed quiet, I mean, it's understandable that certain circumstances happens. My last visit, last week, prior to making an appointment, I still waited an hour. Let alone, the woman in the front was quite mean, as though she didn't took me seriously (?) I understand that I may not look my age, but still, thats no excuse. Maybe it's a bad day for her, I don't know, but she definitely made me feel uncomfortable being there. I went 08/01/19 to the Arlington location and asked for a root canal to be removed because of health reasons and they refused to remove it. All 3 dentists there REFUSED to remove my tooth!! If I want a tooth removed for whatever reason, just remove it! Don't tell me the tooth is healthy and you cannot remove it, It is my tooth, my heath!!! I do not understand how a dentist can refuse something like this! A very unsatisfied patient! read more

I came here since it was close to my work office and opted for a visit during my lunch here at the MINT Dentistry, North Arlington location. Walking into the office, it automatically feels welcoming and luxurious. There two receptionists at the front who both greeted me and were so friendly and the waiting area were filled with comfy and elegant couch and decor with a great view of Arlington facing Collins St. I had Kieu as my dental hygienist and she was helpful and very informative every step of the way. She was very keen on ensuring my X-rays/ picS came out perfect. I asked Dr. Hardaway about the diff of sonic care and oral b and she provided awesome details. I just need to make sure I'm using my sonic care properly. Brie went over the treatment plan with and the smile program- again, she too was informative and explained everything to be very simple. Allie, who cleaned my teeth was gentle yet thorough and also informative every step of the way. With Getting your teeth cleaned every 6 mos, I don't remember all the steps and so it's great to have each person explains what they're doing and why and what to prevent any items. 1st experience here about a month ago, I came in for teeth cleaning and to see if they did teeth contouring. Appearance wise, more seating in the lobby area would be great, it's a spacious area but only has a few decorative chairs and is set up more like a living room instead of a lobby. Service was good but the cleaning was terrible. I'm from out of state and am used to my hygienist. I drink lots of coffee and tea so I get some pretty intense stains on my teeth, this is why I make sure to get my cleanings every 6 months. When I go to my regular hygienist- my teeth are scrubbed clean and spotless! And I've had much darker stains before. When I came in for this cleaning my stains were nothing compared to what I've had before but yet my teeth looked the EXACT same when my cleaning was done... she worked very gentle and fast (I knew it wasn't gonna be a good job) I was irritated and ready to go, so I let it be. However, I definitely won't be returning They also don't do teeth contouring. read more

By far the best experience I've had at a dental office. The decor makes you feel at home. Everyone is super friendly and has outstanding customer service! X-rays were quick and painless. Procedures were explained thoroughly and clearly. Whitening tray impressions for every new customer are made at your dental chair and if they are not too busy, can be done not long after you complete your appointment. Denise took care of x-rays, Dr. Hardaway (KHar) checked out my teeth, and Carly did my cleaning. I am completely satisfied with my overall service. I forgot to mention the massage chairs, Netflix and Pandora options; you get to choose your entertainment. First class!! Other offices should take notes. read more

I wish I could leave 0 stars. Horrible horrible service. My husband went to at the end of April to the Grand Prarie Mint Dentistry location. He thought it would be a wonderful experience based on all the highly praised reviews and commercials on all platforms of social media. He agreed to do a cleaning and x-rays. While he was doing the cleaning and x-rays they were running his insurance. They then start to sedate him AND THEN talk to him about prices. They did NOT let him know that they were out of network. While he was being sedated they talked to him about prices and he was confused as to which portion he paid versus what his insurance was going to pay. He gives them the OK to start doing the fillings he needed done and after everything was done he went to pay and they told him it would be $1,200. With having a new baby on the way he would not have agreed to pay that. The following 2 weeks after that he was in excruciating pain, not able to eat anything hot or cold, and not able to do daily tasks. We set up another appointment for him to be looked at the South Arlington location. With it being the very last appointment before close, since he was coming from work, they just opened his mouth, stuck the metal tooth pick in his tooth and sent him home with antibiotics. They didn't offer to do xrays. They referred him to a specialist and said it was normal to experience pain 1-2 weeks after fillings. We are now going on over a month, he has been rotating betwelen Tylenol extra strength & ibuprofen everyday for over a month to which it still has not done anything. We scheduled another appointment with Aspen dental and they did x-rays and discovered that Mint Dentistry drilled down to my husband's nerve on his teeth. After that I called Mint dentistry and told them my frustrations and how it's upsetting to pay $1,200 to be in pain and the only thing they are trying to prescribe to help is ibuprofen. It is very negligent to to a mild sedation on someone and then talk to them about prices, let alone not do that before they are sitting in a chair. BE WARE!!! read more

In addition I'm sitting in the chair one and half hours later and still haven't started the cleaning. LOVE these ladies. Sadie! My fave. She is a doll. Very calming and reassuring, and also cute and funny! After having lived in Austin the last few years I needed to come home and find a new dentist but also something that was somewhat cutting edge. This is the place. They are very professional, efficient, thorough and friendly. You get to watch your own shows on Hulu, Netflix, or music on Pandora. The atmosphere is very friendly and inviting. The decor is Modern and chic. Both Ambers at the front, Whitney, and Sondra in the back are great. Sondra was very down to earth and helped me stay calm during a stubborn extraction I had not too long ago. But SADIE!! You are my girl. See you guys soon! read more

I decided to try this place after being referred by a colleague. At the beginning everything was alright. I went in did a cleaning and consulted about some other work I needed to get done. They gave me all the paper work and knew I'd be paying out of pocket. So, the guy told me he'll let me pay $225/filling. So, I schedule my next appointment for about two weeks later. A few days before my appointment, I got a text confirming it. Then two days before, they called to say they were closed and had to cancel my appointment. Fast forward to my appointment. I go in at 8am and discuss my filling procedure. The front desk staff seem clueless and snobish. Theres one girl there who acted like she was speaking to a childwhen she addressed me. They confirm again that I'd be paying $225 per filling and I was getting 3 done, so a total of $675, no problem. So, I spoke with the dental assistant and a few monutes later she told me to head to the front desk to speak with the staff and pay. So I get there and the girl tells me it'll be $1,299 to do my three filling. WHAT???? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THIS AT MY FIRST APPOINTMENT??? WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME THIS AT 8AM WHEN I CAME IN? WHY WAIT UNTIL I START MY PROCEDURE????? And then she says oh yea you can pay $5 a month until you get to the $1,299. I told then I wasnt interest anymore. You failed to tell me this when you had several opportunities. You railroaded me and even though several of their staff told me I'd be paying $225 each ($675 total) you go back on your worl and spring this on me. If I had no trust for them before, I definietly didnt have it at that point. I told them to cancel everything. These people are DISHONEST AND UNRELIABLE. They will try to get over on you and act like you knew all along. AVOID them if you can because they are not forthcoming. They lie about what they offer you and then right before your procedure, they will jump the price. Even after theyve wasted your time with several appointments. AVOID THEM. AVOID THEM. AVOID THEM. MINT dentistry is a great experience from the time you walk in the door until the time you leave. Everything is digital and high tech from when you check in on an iPad while watching a movie with Dre Beatz headphones and then your own tv to watch movies on Netflix or listen to music while you get your check up.
