Location is key but the hotel itself is pretty great also. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They seem to always have a smile. The room is a little small but it is a good use of space, has everything you need and also has a mini balcony. That is an awesome amenity if you you enjoy people watching and taking in the sounds from street. The rooftop patio is great! I only wish they allowed you to smoke up there. Obviously, I understand not smoking in rooms or hotel. But not allowing adults to smoke smoke outside, on the roof and away from people makes no sense. This hotel is situated between Little Italy and Chinatown, so you get the best of both worlds. And subway stations are just a few blocks away. I love exploring and eating in Chinatown, so it was a no-brainer to stay here. When we arrived, it was already raining. This hotel provides umbrellas for your convenience, so you won't get caught in the rain. Just give them your room number to check them out. The elevators don't need a hotel key card for them to work, which I find odd. Some nights, the front desk did not have anyone there, which can be a security problem. Almost every hotel I have stayed at needed a key card to go to your hotel room from the lobby. Hopefully they'll consider changing this. Thankfully, the area isn't too shady. The room is high-tech, modern, and pretty clean when you check in, but not much cleaning from housekeeping during your stay, as they only come every 2 days. They fixed the bed, but hair and whatever on the floor stayed as is. The floors are not carpeted, so it would be noisy to vacuum. I'm not sure if they cleaned the floors during our stay but tables and sinks were cleaned. They do not give refills for any amenities or water bottles. This is what we got the first night: 2 toothbrushes with toothpaste, 2 shower caps, 8 cotton swabs, 2 sanitary bags, 1 comb, 2 make-up remover cloths, 2 pairs of slippers, and 2 bottles of water. They do provide shampoo, body wash, and conditioner, & hair dryer. You get 2 large body towels and 2 hand towels, but no face towels. They will not clean the drinking glasses once you've used them. Mini fridge barely stays cold like many other hotels and they don't have mini bar items for sale and no room service. And you can forget about a microwave oven, that's at the Hilton! You can get hot and cold water, ice, coffee and tea at the lobby. Sodas are $2 (honor system-$2 in tip jar). I overheard that if you go to the lobby early in the morning, there is bread near the coffee and tea area. The front desk people did not tell us that when we checked in, but another guest asked about it while we were waiting for a taxi. On our king bed was a cute stuffed monkey for us to take, though not necessary. I guess the kiddos would lWe had a firm mattress and good pillows that gave us a good night's rest. No complaints there. The handheld showerhead streamed in a pattern with a power massage. No weak massage here! We walked about 10-12 miles a day, which left my legs aching, so this was appreciated. You also have the option of using the rain showerhead. PRO TIP: When using the shower, if you turn the small knob towards the left, the small handheld showerhead turns on, so you're able to adjust the temperature without being doused with water. If you turn the small knob to the right, the rain showerhead will turn on and drench you with cold water! Luckily, I turned the knob to the left first! The room design is flawed, since there is NO privacy whatsoever when you shower. The shower walls are frosted, but there is no door from the shower to the rest of the room. So you'd have to strip in front of whoever you're staying with to get into the shower and come out butt naked after your shower to change into clothes. We had a king-sized bed and I guess they assume you are intimate with the person you're rooming with? I've never had a hotel room where you're this exposed. If you're planning to stay with just a friend, you're better off getting 2 rooms to avoid an awkward situation. I'm not sure how the other rooms are designed. Maybe they have some privacy when showering. But our room was wide open for all to see! The mirror above the sink has LED power buttons to turn a light on around the mirror, which was nice and bright. I liked that the toilet room had a fan when you switch on the lights. Great ventilation! We didn't need to worry about odors. They have plenty of outlets beside the bed, on the writing desk, near the sink, and even on the wall where you hang clothing, purses, and such. They have a taxi service, if you'd like to have someone take you to the airport, instead of lugging around your baggage up and down the stairs through the subway stations. We did take advantage of this service, so the front desk made arrangements for us to be picked up. It took about an hour to get to the airport during non-rush hour, due to the construction at Terminal 5. It was about $65 without tip. During rush hour, it would cost $80 and it would probably take an extra half hour, if not more. The driver was efficient and knew his way around to avoid traffic. Got us to the airport on time, so we didn't have to worry. GPS gave us an ETA of 1 1/2 hrs, if we had taken the subway. This is a good hotel, despite some of the nuisances. The top reason to stay is their prime location, having tons of restaurant options, close to soho, and a few walkable subway stations being 5-7 minutes away, and it's a quiet neighborhood. read more

Stayed just for the Valentines weekend and this hotel was sufficient. The staff were very friendly and they accommodated our request for a view. Rooms were clean and the shower was great! The rooms were quite small for two people and awkwardly laid out. Not super romantic to be able to hear each other taking shits because the bathroom has only a thin, barn door closure. It's also extremely annoying that in order to operate any power (e.g., lights) in the room you must leave the card in a slot on the wall. Overall the hotel was okay but definitely it worth $800 for two days. read more

Check in was a breeze. I stayed in the suite with a terrace for 5 nights. It was an awesome view. Huge room compared to where I stayed the day before, specially for NY. Front desk were so nice and attentive. Always greeting us. The free coffee and morning croissants were a nice touch . When i called to ask for location of ice machine, the guy (whose name I wish I would have gotten) brought me some in 2 cups in less than 3 minutes and then informed me where ice machine was located. I've been waiting 22 years to visit NY and the service here made the wait worth it. I am not sure if I'll ever be able to come back to NY, but if I do, I'd definitely book here again. The staff was not only welcoming, but referred you to nearby restaurants, tours, etc. its centered smack dabbed between Chinatown to the left, little Italy to right. You can't go wrong. Across the street you can enjoy the best soup dumplings. Then walk over to Ferrara and grab their famous cannoli. The pics do not do this place justice. Here are some little nuggets of info: -Train is about 6-9 minutes walking depending on which line you need, -The room is small and basic but cute. -No amenities and a very small lobby. -Free coffee and tea all day long plus they have an honor bar where you can get sodas. -There are plenty of restaurants nearby and the hotel is on the edge of little Italy and chinatown. -No fuss in the room. Great location - friendly staff - nice clean modern rooms. Not much more that you could ask for. The rooms are not all that big but also not as small as others we have stayed in in New York City. You walk out the door and you're in Little Italy. A few blocks away and you're in China Town and not far to Subway stations. We walked to all of the restaurants we had booked , the furthest only about a mile away. The rooftop offers views of the city where you can bring up snacks and drinks before wandering off. Including all taxes it came to around $200 a night - for NY that's really not that bad at all considering it's location. read more

I stayed at ND for two nights while I was in the city! Perfectly located next to Little Italy and so many great shops and food decisions. Close to the subway entrance for easy access to the whole city. The front desk was so accommodating and nice enough to call me when I checked out because I had left something behind. Most hotels won't do that. They went out of their way and I appreciated it! The 24/hour coffee and tea station came in so clutch every morning and nights when getting back late. I was lucky enough to get a walk out in my room so I able to step outside on a small patio! The bathroom/shower was perfect and modern/spacious. Overall great hotel, everything was as advertised and there were no hidden fees. Placed in a great location away from touristy stuff with more of an authentic experience. Most people would want to stay in Manhattan or Near Times Square but in my opinion the lower East side and east village are the places to be! Will be back! Highly recommend if you plan to spend most of your trip outside your room, especially downtown. You're right on the edge of Little Italy and Chinatown and have multiple neighborhoods within a short walking distance (e.g. Nolita and SoHo). Many nearby metro stops make it VERY easy to head uptown as well. The room itself is very basic but is fairly modern with all the essentials. Morgan and the front desk are also impeccable; very friendly and helpful. The rooftop view is also a hidden gem. I hesitate to write this review because I don't want you to know how AWESOME this hotel is. Located in Little Italy but one block from Chinatown. It's a foodies paradise. Check in was easy and simple. No coffee maker in the room but the lobby has coffee, decaf, and hot water for hot chocolate or tea. All the fixings you need, for your drinks. Ice machine and filter water too. The room was decent size, the best part was the balcony. A wooden bench so you can sit out there and enjoy the views. Plexiglass sides so it doesn't block your view. Now for the best part of the hotel. Go to the roof top deck. The views are amazing day or night. Wicker love seats and a few lounge chairs. This will be our first hotel choice when we return. read more

What a great location this hotel is in! I recently went to New York, like literally got back yesterday and stayed at this hotel. They are located in Little Italy, in the middle between SoHo and Chinatown where tons of shopping meets great eats. What not to love about that? This is a very small hotel with only a number of rooms. However, each room is very neat, clean, comfortable and even has all the travel good ones would need which I was very surprised to see was offered and neatly laid by my vanity area. One thing that I really thought was a nice touch and of course a great way to conserve energy was that they follow the method many hotels in Asia have, where you place your key card in a slot to activate power in your room and you take it with you when you leave so it cuts the power. Awesome way to conserve energy. The front desk staff was also very helpful and nice. I had a great stay during my time here. The only thing is that I do wish their lobby was a little bigger and that they had actual luggage storage rooms so that it is not just hanging around by the front desk. There were days where there was a lot of luggage and it almost felt like there was no room to walk to the front door or the elevator. Other than that caveat, I will definitely stay here again - it is a great hotel and located in a great area. read more

We so enjoyed our stay at the NobleDEN! The neighborhood couldn't be any more perfect. Right between Little Italy and Chinatown, walking distance to Tribeca, SoHo, Greenwich Village, Battery Park, Lower East Side... Pretty much anywhere in lower Manhattan. The rooms were comfortable and efficient. Even though our queen size bedroom was small (@150 square feet) we didn't feel cramped. We were on the 2nd floor and had a teeny-tiny little balcony. We didn't hear any street noise. In fact, with the curtains drawn, we slept until almost 10am both mornings! The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I showed up almost 2-hours before check-in, just looking to store my bag. Low and behold the room was ready and they gave me my key. On departure day, we were running behind (see note about curtains above) and called the front desk, begging for a late departure. Wonders of all wonders, they didn't even hesitate to give us an extra hour in the room! We loved the filtered water, coffee, and hot chocolate in the lobby 24-7. And, we brought the little stuffed lion on our pillow back to our pup who is loving her new souvenir from the big city. All this and the room was affordable?! Yes, please! NobleDEN has new loyal customers for life. I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else when in the city! read more

This hotel in Little Italy is fantastic. Got. Great room On the se Second floor-it was spacious, white socks on the floor clean, modern with perfectly situated furniture. The shower was a little strange because I couldn't figure out how to turn it on lol but that's user error. We were especially lucky because our room had a balcony! They provided a radio in the room which has a great sound that carries into the bathroom, but not in the hallway. Robes and slippers are provided if you choose to use them and pastries/coffee/tea available for breakfast (first come, first serve). I'm def looking to come back before the year is out! read more

My friend Applebomb treated me & Frontseat to a girls weekend in NYC for my big half century milestone. I would've given them 5 stars but the walls & doors were thin. Making it possible to hear regular conversations outside your room. And anyone who knows me knows I don't know how to speak softly. It's just not in my nature. Soooo besides that I loved my King Suite that faced out onto Grand directly across from Ferrara's Bakery. Which the hotel gets a delivery of fresh pastries every morning at 7am. First come first served. Yeah my friends & I were the first ones to scoff up the yummyliciousness. The room has this super cool free standing laminate shower that doesn't have a regular drain but lets the water drain into a small trench off the shower floor. Every room is color coordinated with your key. I had the yellow room. Even then phone is yellow. They offer free coffee,tea, or hot chocolate 24hrs in the micro kitchen off the lobby. But the best part was the rooftop lounge area. No one told us they had one. But being the adventurous crew we are, we found it on our own. Overall a great hotel. I would definitely come back. What a hidden and chic gem in the heart of Little Italy. Upon check-in we were greeted by the lovely staff who were on point with their customer service. Check-in was swift and were in our room within 5 minutes of checking in. Room #205 was a LOVELY corner room with a balcony. YES! a Balcony! Not a huge one, just a small tiny one that you had to squeeze out to that had two chairs. Just enough room to get fresh air and smell New York City. The room was actually quite spacious for a NYC boutique hotel and was spotless. Upkeep of this hotel was quite impressive. Right outside of the hotel is a busy street where there are plentiful places to eat and grab Italian pastries. Without a doubt I will stay here again! This hotel is perfectly located little Italy. I stayed here on a Saturday night and got a fantastic rate $179. The rooms are small but a lot of thought has been put into making the best use of space. I was originally booked for a standard king room which was upgraded at check-in to a deluxe king which had a juliette balcony overlooking the street. It was a very active street with lots of restaurants and people but when the doors were shut I couldn't hear a thing. This hotel also has a roof top deck with some furniture on it. We were able to bring a bottle of wine up and watch a spectacular sunset with views of the Empire State Building and the Chrysler building. This hotel is independent not part of a chain; it is always a pleasure to find a great spot in the city. I'll be back. read more

I was really looking forward to my stay here but I found the gentleman at the front desk to be incredibly rude and dismissive. My card wasn't going through for incidentals which was very strange, so I called my bank and they said that it was not an issue on their end and that the hotel may need to try a different card reader or manually type it in. The man at the front desk said he can only manually enter a card if he gets permission from his manager, so I asked if he could speak to his manager. It was evident that he was annoyed but he picked up the phone and send out a text. He then said his manager told him no. I've never seen someone act so dismissive in the hospitality industry. While the room is nice, the attitude is enough for me to make sure I look elsewhere next time. If I could leave now and switch hotels, I would. read more

We stayed in this hotel several times over the past four years while our son was at University. The location is good and the hotel is modern. Those are the good things. What's not so good is that recently they've become dishonest about their pricing, offering one rate online but then another on our bill--in our case a $200 difference per night. When I asked at the front desk about it, the guy could not explain except to give me a blank stare and robotically say, "the rates changed." Ok, I guess that just happens overnight. Enjoy that honesty! Also, the floor felt grubby, there was a board but no iron, and the cleaning crew never came even though we were here three nights and the hotel promises a cleaning every other night. For $500/night that's pretty pathetic. I think this hotel now puts money making over hospitality. We won't be staying here again. JUST TO NOTE: their response is inaccurate. Do not trust them. Their lack of interest in redress and compromise speaks for itself. read more

I recently stayed at the NobleDEN, having chosen it for its proximity to a wedding I was attending in Hanover Square. While I could of course have stayed closer to the wedding, I wanted to stay at a place that was a bit more in the thick of it. NobleDEN satisfied my want for a bustling neighborhood, and exceeded my expectations with the actual accommodations themselves. First, you'll probably see this on hotel sites or NobleDEN's site itself, but the hotel really is at the intersection of many neighborhoods. Little Italy is to the west, Soho more to the north, Chinatown to the South, and the Lower East side not far to the east. With all of these energy-filled areas nearby, you are at no shortage of things to do and see. And of course, there are various subway stations in the area, meaning you'll be able to get basically anywhere you need to do. As for the hotel, it's got a stylish, contemporary look, both in the lobby and in the rooms themselves. The rooms being more important, I was really happy with the way our queen size room was laid out. In fact, the room on the spacious-side for NY standards. When you walk in the room, there's a sort of open bathroom layout to your right. The sink and mirror don't have a super distinct division from the rest of the room, and then they have the space for the shower and toilet surrounding them (which are enclosed, in case you were wondering). In front of the bed, there is a long counter space (perfect for putting your various things), and also perfect to put luggage, etc. underneath. Next to the beds are really cool light fixtures (that bend and move to almost any desirable configuration), with a empty fridge underneath one. The bed itself was extremely comfortable, with delightfully firm pillows. I really can't stand weak pillows, so if you're like me, you should expect a good sleep here. The shower was my least favorite part of the room, but certainly wasn't as bad as many other hotel showers I've experienced. Overall, the pressure was good, but it had a giant rainfall style showerhead on the ceiling, which of course by its nature isn't all that great with pressure. But, there is a handle head on the side of the shower, which does provide acceptable pressure. If its holder was just a little higher up on the wall, it could even have functioned as a straight up regular showerhead experience. A couple bonuses that you don't always get (but should): 1.) coffee/tea in the lobby and 2.) free WiFi (that actually worked). All in all, definitely recommend this hotel and will plan on staying here again next time I'm in the area. read more

The hotel itself is smack dab in between Little Italy and Chinatown. There were plenty of outdoor vendors for an easy snack (from gelato to tofu). It's also about a 15-20 minute subway ride to Times Square. The hotel itself was nice. There are unobstructed views to both downtown and the finance/Freedom building area. The staff was always friendly and printed out direction for us free of charge. The internet is free.... always a huge plus! The rooms are small, but typical for New York. The shower was cool, as was a mirror that lit up at the touch of the button. Most important, the bed was really comfortable and the blackout curtains worked great! Although check-in wasn't until 4:00, they happily held on to our bags for free until then. read more

The rooms are stylish & clean and the lobby coffee and warm pastries are adequate and a welcome surprise (respectively). That said ask for a different room if they offer you 101. It is directly adjacent to the lobby so you will hear after-hours people ringing the door bell & talking in the lobby all night long. I love the Lower East Side. So many great little restaurants and stores nearby. There was a subway stop about 2 blocks away. This hotel is across the street from Ferraras Italian bakery and several famous Italian cheese shops. And it was so much quieter at night than in midtown. I never felt unsafe. fabulous! Our room was small (as are most NYC hotel rooms) but had everything we needed. The decor was fun and modern. The shower had an overhead rain shower head. There is a nice rooftop patio. It rained the whole time we were there so we didn't get to hang out up there but we did check it out and it was still a beautiful view on foggy night. My only complaint was a personal one. The mattresses were a bit too firm for me but I know many people like it. Nevertheless I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. read more

A cute boutique hotel in the middle of Little Italy that fit our needs for three nights. Staff are friendly and though the lobby is quite small, there is room to hang out and relax a bit. The rooms are small but efficient, clean and nicely decorated. There is a nice sized TV but unable to stream or play a movie. There isn't much privacy between the two double beds and the bathroom, except for a curtain. The wash basin has an excellent mirror, there is a WC, and a nice shower with a rainforest shower head. The balcony for our room is small and with no views but it was cold so we didn't use it. I would definitely consider returning again. read more

Best place and best price for your money. The hotel is very close to Little Italy and Chinatown. Lots of places to eat, massage and best place to stay at. Very clean and new building. Very good customer service. This place is cute but worth every pennies. We love it here! read more

This quality of this hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Great location, clean and modern rooms and many thoughtful touches: complimentary toiletries such as toothbrush and toothpaste (items I always manage to forget!), face wipes, fancy soaps and even slippers. There was a mini fridge discreetly tucked under a nightstand, thoughtful lighting and chic, modern furniture. Everything was clean and fresh and I actually squealed when I walked in and saw the gorgeous hard wood floors! Truly, a lovely hotel in the middle of all the downtown action. read more
