Great cheap lunch spot. Only a few tables, but we got one on a Sunday afternoon. The food is delicious, and you are served plenty. Also, they have free masala chia tea while you wait. Their main meal let's you choose two entrees. I went with chicken masala and chicken curry. The masala was pretty good, the chicken curry was excellent. Tons of vegetarian options and a friendly staff makes this place a must. We will definitely be back coming back. read more

Best deal on Indian/Himalayan food in the area- been here twice and the food is amazing and especially a great deal for the thali plate- 2 entrees, rice, amazing dal, bread, and a samosa all for ~$13. Definitely call in your order ahead and give them even longer than they say it will take because I've had to wait a while both times I've ordered, but definitely worth the wait plus free chai! As winter brews outside, the flavors inside Mint Indian Eatery warm the soul. Start with a kati roll - think Indian burrito. The paratha wrap, cooked with egg, is similar to naan but a little smoother, mixed with the filling of your choice. Lots of mint notes. Aloo gobi filling with curried potatoes and cauliflower is satisfying. Have not tried the momos yet but they look delightful. The combo platter (thali) includes not one but two entree choices with basmati rice and dal. Chicken chilli has an almost Chinese-like flavor and texture with plenty of peppers and onions in a think chili sauce. The chana masala is hearty with plump chickpeas blended in a tomato sauce. Lamb curry and palak paneer are the highlights as the cubed lamb is very tender and the curry sauce is the perfect consistent without being too oily. Plenty of spice and the best to pair with the basmati rice. The palak paneer is essentially saag paneer with creamy (not runny) spinach and cubes of mild paneer cheese. If I didn't already live close, I would go through the hell of moving just so I could eat here regularly. Food here punches you with wonderful flavors. You leave with both your tummy and wallet happy! They have curry wraps which are atypical because curries are so saucy, but the chicken curry wrap was saucy, neat, and flavorful all at once. I thought there was a generous amount of chicken and veggies in my wrap and was beyond satisfied. Can't wait to try the lamb and paneer wraps in my next visits! For dessert, I had the mango lassi which was creamy and tasted like real mangoes were used! There was an acidic touch to the drink which made it taste really fresh and light. My partner and I LOVE this place, may be one of our most frequent takeout spots. It's really good indian by our (admittedly untrained) palettes, fast, and they make it -actually spicy- if you ask. Never had a bad thing off the menu. What's making me stop and write this review though is how nice they are. Last night we ordered via Grubhub. I found that my food was not what (I had thought) I had ordered - and definitely spicier than I had asked for. I called them and the guy on the phone and I discovered through retracing the order I had actually sent the wrong food order via Grubhub, derp - so the food was correct to the order they got, but they still made it spicier than I asked... Long story short, despite all this confusion, they were extremely nice and patient and actually offered me a credit based on the spice mixup alone.The moral of the story is - don't use GrubHub, but DO order delicious indian food from Mint. read more

I got a thali with chicken tikka masala and aloo gobi. Wish I would've preordered since it did take awhile for the food to come out, but it's nice that everything is prepared to order. The portions were large enough for two meals. The thali comes with dal, chapati and rice. It all tasted great, but the tikka masala was a bit too creamy for me. Great Indian food and fast service! The restaurant is small and most people go to get take out. But, if you do decide to stay, there is free masala tea in the corner and plenty of group seating (4ish people)! The food never disappoints! The kati rolls come in popular flavors ranging from Chicken Chili to Chicken Tiki Masala to Lamb Saag wrapped in a delicious eggy wrap. They're a bit small, so if you're hungry I would recommend getting two and saving half for later. Their dishes are also delicious. The combo platter offers two curries and plenty of rice. I recommend the chicken chili - spicy, complex and soft. Whether you decide to eat in or take home (to eat in front of the tv), the food won't disappoint! read more

Mint is still considered to be a relatively new establishment in the powder house area, but in my opinion it's quickly become a go to for many people who live in the area. boston actually has a surprising number of nepalis, and therefore nepali inspired restaurants, what with the tibetan cafe in davis, masala in teele, as well as other establishments like tasty momo and the whatnot i've only ever had momo and the kati roll at mint, but feel like it's enough to base a judgement on. the momos are a fair price, and they're probably the best ones in boston that i've tried. sure, there are some other places where you might be able to get one or more for the same price, but the momos here are top notch quality, and they are all made to order, which means they are coming out incredibly fresh. i like the sauce which comes along with the plain momo. the spicy momo here are alright, but usually i like sticking with the plain chicken, since they they're the best of the lot as for the kati rolls, they aren't bad. the taste is fine, but i feel like they need some work on their... structural integrity, since they always fall apart every single time i've tried them. oh, and the lassis here are okay, but nothing out of the ordinary. mint also needs some work on their ability to track orders. several times ive called here to place an order for pickup, only to find later (once arriving) that they forgot to put the order in, which is super annoying. if they improve on that, i see no reason why they won't drive masala out of business eventually read more

I ordered from here on a whim, just to try something new, and had no actual expectations. I just needed dinner and some lunch leftovers for 2 people. The food was GREAT. I ordered the standards that I judge Indian restaurants by: samosa chaat, and a combo platter of chana masala and saag paneer. I also got chicken momos because they had good reviews. First, that combo platter is so worth it, there's plenty of food for 2 people in that alone. The saag was the best I have had, it wasn't mushy at all and had excellent flavor as did the chana masala. The samosa chaat was delicious with a good balance of sweet, crunchy, creamy and spicy. I had never had a momo before, where have these been my whole life? The kathi roll was a mix of flavors and crunchy which was nice. I wish it was a bit spicy. But I'll ask for it the next time. It was all excellent! One thing that I really enjoyed was that you could do a combo of foods. I always want to eat channa masala (seriously. Every day I crave it.), but I also really want to try something different. The combo plates let me do just that. Add on a Samosa for just a dollar or two more?! Yes, please! I'm updating my review. Unfortunately. I wish i could be as impressed as I was the first few times, but a few things have repeatedly happened here and it's getting a bit frustrating. I would rate lower but i really do love the Thali combo platter and i think the price is good. Otherwise, i really dont like their samosas or pakoras compared to other places in the area. And they are pretty good for delivering on time, which is nice, but thats likely because they are a mile down the rd from me (ya, that sounds lazy of me but... it's been cold outside for a while ;)) Recently i ordered a pickup and scheduled the time in advance. I arrived and it was not ready. That happens, i get it, but they didn't seem to really feel bad that i was so delayed and standing there waiting for 10+ minutes. They didnt offer a discount or really much of an apology. Another issue is the cover of their Thali combo platter is NEVER secure. One time i went to pick it up from the bottom of the delivery bag and my food went everywhere! so frustrating considering i paid for the food, it was delivered - so i couldnt really go in and show them this - and its indian, so it wasn't an easy clean up... This happens pretty much every time i order this from them. and i mentioned it to them as well in my comments when ordering on foodler - please make sure the cover is on tight! maybe its just the quality of the container, and if so they should consider getting new take out containers! The other thing that irks me to no end, is every time i order a mango lassie, they place it on the top of a hot meal, which means by the time it gets to me the drink is WARM. its a yogurt based drink. That is gross. I dont want a warm mango lassie! This has happened three times and i have mentioned it to them twice. one time i went back in and asked for a new drink because of this, and they did give me a new one but i saw them just place the warm one back in the cooler... gross. someone else got a mango lassie which was chilled, warmed up by hot food, and rechilled... not appetizing at all. read more

I'm pretty excited about this place. We are in but I can see it is a mostly take out place with the delivery guy coming in several times to pick up the latest order. He doesn't wait for a batch - he delivers as soon after the order is ready as possible so I bet the folks are pleased with the turnaround time. We ordered thali combo dinners ($10.99) which includes 2 entrees, rice served in a 3 compartment takeout container, dal in a separate container and a samosa in yet another container ($1 with combo order). The entrees we tried were lamb, (add $1) chicken saag, aloo gobi, crispy spicy chicken. All were yum and didn't taste the same. Spice level is great. Enough food for us to save half for lunch tomorrow. Great value for quality of food. Recommend and can't wait to try other things like momos, chaat, Kati rolls. Come! read more

Best Samosa Chat EVER It's as good as any samosa chat you will eat in India. The momos are also delicious. I was skeptical about trying the Thali first but when I did try it I wasn't disappointed. I have been picking up food from this place since they opened a few years ago. I was really happy with their food and service. But for the past few months, their service has been really bad. I have had to wait for my pick up order for more than 20minutes for the last 3 times. They say over the phone that it will take 25 minutes but in reality it has taken 55 minutes every time. Their food quality has also deteriorated over time. I ordered Thali and some kati rolls today. The chilly chicken in the Kathi roll was very dry and hard. In the Thali, Paneer chilly was sweet and spicy and there was no flavor. The salt in the Momos was less. They have really disappointed me for the last couple of times. Mint is easily my favorite Indian place anywhere around Somerville, and I eat there at least twice a week. Their samosas are the best (although not available on Uber eats, you have to use grubhub!) and the chicken curry is my go-to. The aloo gobi is a close second, although it's not always as spicy as I would like. Seating is limited so take-out is probably your safest bet.
