Mint is easily my favorite Indian place anywhere around Somerville, and I eat there at least twice a week. Their samosas are the best (although not available on Uber eats, you have to use grubhub!) and the chicken curry is my go-to. The aloo gobi is a close second, although it's not always as spicy as I would like. Seating is limited so take-out is probably your safest bet. Just ordered the takeout via DoorDash.... They have the food packaging down to the science, the containers that holds the food are a perfect fit, bravo!! Most of the local area restaurants need to learn and review their Food Packing skills from Mint. The food..... Spectacular! Flavorful punch on each bite of juicy Momo ( the sauce served was exactly how it's done in fast food joints in Nepal) thanks for nailing it!! Chicken Pakoras were great too... Not over done with the batter, yet very tasty and good finger bite sized. Kati roll, oh well if this was in NYC; Kati Roll company would have a head to head competition. This place is a hidden gem. The service is quick, friendly, and polite, the food is inexpensive (plus you get a discount if you are a Tufts student), and there's a decent variety of options. I had the veggie momo (dumplings) and the chicken chili kati roll. Both were made with fresh ingredients and a lot of flavor. It literally took 10 mins after ordering, and we were offered water and the cashier checked in on us while we waited. Definitely a good place to sit down and eat, or get take out! read more

The food has been very tasty with authentic flavors. To be honest it's the only place around that I like. Food comes in thalis with two options. I wish it came with a little bread. Samosa chat has everything you want and each of the many ingredients tastes good. The chicken tikka masala has depth to it and isn't just watery cream and tomato sauce. Same with the paneer tikka masala. The kathi rolls are okay. The rolls itself is kind of thin and for delivery it gets soggy and unappetizing. Perhaps pack the roll and filling separately? I'm sure it's better at the restaurant, it just wasn't very tasty (regardless of being soggy). They don't have any breads on their menu but they have always been happy to add a side of paratha (same that's used in kathi roll) for $2. I wish they had multi layered thicker paratha (laccha) The only real criticism I had is that I once ordered chicken tikka masala and the paneer tikka masala at the same time and the paneer tikka masala had much less flavor than the chicken. This was the only time that it's been less than fantastic. I hope they continue to maintain quality because my other favorite restaurants near by are either shut down due to a pipe bursting or just have lost the proper flavors. read more

This place has some of the best Indian food I have had. The daal the chicken tikka masala and the other dishes we ordered were all fresh and had the perfect combination of spices. The place is located just a few blocks from Tufts University so it is a great stop if you are in the area. My only mild compliant was the rice was slightly undercooked. We went there twice because we liked it so much. However, even after asking them to cook the rice properly it seems that the rice was still a bit undercooked. Other then that the food itself was amazing. Maybe next time just let them know to cook the rice a litle more. Otherwise great! read more

I tried this restaurant, which is a bit farther from my house than my old Indian go-to because my old standby recently shut down. I was not disappointed! The house curry with chicken was delicious - not spicy, but subtly complex and tasty (with a nice curry leaf, cardamom, other typical flavors very nicely blended), and the chicken just fell apart. The chili lamb momo were a perfect level of spice, but had lots of flavor, both in the chili sauce and the filling. This will definitely be one of my new go-to's when I'm not cooking! read more

Awesome place which really adds to the food scene in Powderhouse square. I got the chili chicken roll, which turned out to be a little smaller than I expected (but it was only $6). Had an office lunch catered by Mint, and it was fantastic. I'm normally an Indian buffet kind of guy and find that most places are alright, but it all tastes pretty much the same to me. Best tasting Indian food so far in the greater Boston area for me. The menu is largely limited to a subset of India street foods but the selection is exciting enough and also all meat they use is halal. The samosa chaat and momos I had exceeded expectations, the complimentary masala chai was pretty good as well. One review said that Mint Indian's food was delicious but they didn't like that they served their food in plastic containers. If anything, this makes me like Mint Indian even more: It adds to the aesthetic of a bare-bones place that doesn't care about presentation and puts all their energy into their food. The people here are really friendly; it's a small, quiet, low-key place, but there are always tables available. The Thali combos ($11) let you choose 2 out of 12 dishes, which comes with dal and rice. This is basically the Indian version of Panera's "Pick 2," and it's a game changer: Usually I have to convince several people to get Indian with me to try several dishes. The chicken saag and spicy crispy chicken are especially good. Also, the free chai tea is a really nice touch. The momos are great too, and I'm not even sure where else you can get those. Finally, there's free parking nearby. If you have a car or around the area, you have to try this place. read more
