We went on a recommendation from a friend. I have my favorite sushi restaurant, so I was a bit worried how Mint would hold up. I was definitely surprised and delighted. Pretty much everything we got was well worth it. The Hamachi, the Cucumber Lollipops, the Wagyu Beef, and the Ceviche were all fantastic. The rolls were really good, but rolls are rolls. The thing that made the meal were the tapas. Desserts were fine but not mind blowing. I'll definitely be coming back. Can't wait to try the Salmon Belly. read more

I enjoyed my experience at Mint Tapas and Sushi. I'd heard good things about this place then saw a Groupon so thought I'd give it a try. (Side Note: as a former server I'm not the biggest fan of Groupons, but when I use them I always tip extra) The restaurant is on the smaller side, and had a dark yet contemporary vibe, with an outdoor patio. The staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. A little tip about the menu, any raw items are marked with an asterisk. It seems obvious now, but the item descriptions don't mention if things are raw or cooked. Some of the items I ordered were different than anticipated as a result. Different, but still good. My favorite dishes were the Grilled Scallops and the Hamachi Belly. The Scallops were perfectly cooked, buttery and sweet. Not chewy or rubbery at all. The sauces on the plate made each bite a choose your own adventure of flavors. I highly recommend the Scallops. I also highly recommend the Hamachi Belly. It was slightly fatty, tender, not fishy, and melted in my mouth. The Jalapeno Vinaigrette adds some acid and a little spice, which compliments the fattiness of belly really well. The other dishes were good as well. I definitely want to go back and explore more of their menu. read more

This used to be a very good sushi place but for the last couple months something changed. I am not sure what they changed in their recipes but their rolls don't taste the same. They are still fresh but not as good as they used to be. I think they changed the chef. Hope they will have their chef back so we can go there with my family again read more

One of my favorite restaurants in the whole world, no exaggeration. I've been here many times and the taste and quality is always stellar. They have some incredible combinations of fresh, high quality ingredients that taste like nothing else I have ever tired, and I've had a LOT of sushi. I recommend getting their small plates, my favorites are the jalapeño hamachi and salmon ginger. Their rolls are also one of a kind (the earth roll is definitely worth a try). If looking for a more substantial dish, the wagyu steak salad hits the spot every time. 12/10! read more

The fish is the freshest you'll find in Utah from the salmon to the sable fish. Delicate, exquisite and sensational. Their understanding of meat and the way it's cooked is mind blowing. The owners are lovely and just moved from Japan a year ago and already have a gem on their hands. They're opening a second location. Japanese culture values the service and Presentation of food highly. It's an art form and one of the many things I love about the culture. These pictures don't do justice to the experience! This was our first time to the new location and it was amazing from the moment we steeped in. The decor is sleek and the design & layout feel spacious. The details chosen for dinnerware, cutlery etc are impressive, as is their presentation. The staff were so prompt & friendly and our appetizers and cocktails were delicious - be sure to try the pork belly and plum saki! We ordered a total of 6 rolls, they were gracious with our accommodation requests, and each one was unbelievable, and better than the last! The Galaxy Lollipop rolls come out on an adorable skewer, like a lollipop :) The sushi rolls were plated beautifully and there is such attention to detail that you feel instantly catered to. Three kids and I ate at the sandy location last week. The Kobe beef, lollipop lamb chops, sushi, special tuna (can't remember the name), salad, and other plates were phenomenal.
