Delicious meat - with the added experience of grilling indoors. It turned out quite good, and kept us captivated while we waited, so we weren't wondering where our food was. We really liked the stuffed mushroom appetizer and the crab cakes. They have one dessert - it is cookies & cream ice cream with whip cream & hot fudge in the middle. All rolled in cinnamon & shaped like a giant potato. It was good, but you really need at least 3 or more people to eat it.

3.5 stars. The Minturn Country Club is a novelty. Cook your own steak?... why not? It was fun. Every spice you can imagine with a good teriyaki glaze to add to the steak. We were given a suggestion of how long to cook the steak which I'm glad we shortened or it would have been well done. Salad bar?...Yes... iceberg lettuce but a variety of toppings. White bread from a sandwich loaf. Onion rings greasy, twice stuffed potato ok. But the steaks. The rib eye was tasty and tender but the NY was more gristle than meat. The magician wasn't there that night, unfortunately. A bit of entertainment is what we needed. I probably won't go back again..... once was enough.

This place is pretty cool. You order your meat/fish and then grill it yourself. We got the mushroom appetizer which was pretty good and then got a prime steak and lemon chicken. Both were excellent. It's a little strange grilling your own food inside the restaurant, but it ended up being a lot of fun. Seems like this would be a really fun place for young families with kids as well. We sat at the bar and our bartender was also a magician. He was amazing. He had some really cool tricks that really enhanced the experience. Highly recommend sitting at the bar. Awesome steaks + magician bartender + small Colorado mountain town = very unique experience. Definitely will be back here.

Big steaks that were cut fresh.

A must visit. Fantastic old-school steakhouse, great service l, strong drinks, good vibe and excellent steaks. My family went skiing and stayed at Beavercreek. Thank goodness we found this place, what a treat. It is close to Beavercreek but worlds away from the overpriced food at a ski resort. The experience cooking their own steak will probably be the most memorable from our entire trip.

Selected a couple bottles of good wine.

I've never been to a restaurant where you cook your own steak. We had a blast at the Minturn Country Club. The service was outstanding. Our waitress Alex was so attentive and explained the process to us thoroughly. We ordered wine and some stuffed mushrooms to start. Then we headed to the salad bar. When we finished our appetizers and salads we all went together to the butcher station and picked out our meat selection and ordered our sides. We were told how long we should cook our meat. I chose a filet and baked potato. It was so fun. We sipped wine as we sat around the grill and chit chatted. One of our friends in the group is turning 60 this month so we celebrated his birthday with a Minturn Tator. At the end of the night, the magician came to our table and wowed us with card tricks. Honestly, we stumbled upon this restaurant and it's one of our favorite dining experiences from our Vail vacation. I highly recommend the Minturn Country Club.

Service was sketchy, meat was choice at best. Been there a few times in the past and remember it being a lot better.

And to stumble upon this chic and inconspicuous cocktail bar in the busy downtown was something I wasn't expecting and became a treat after a nice stroll through the town after dinner in my hotel room. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was at the place where my heart was calling for. There were two gents at the bar and one of them warmly greeted me and said I could sit anywhere I would like. I hence picked one of the bar seats. Except one table that was occupied by a couple I was the only one. I appeared to have picked the right time; I had the whole bar to myself (eventually though, several different groups of people streamed in; only a few of them sat at the bar close to me. The bar was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a little over 10 people.) Jeremy, who greeted me upon arrival, was a super host. As soon as I explained that wine is my usual got-to, he said he could mix and match reds and whites to create a "flight" based on what I had told him as to my likings. His extensive explanations as to what sorts of reds and whites the bar offers/serves was (of course) all in his memory. His eloquent speech with no filler words truly impressed me; he sure is a wine connoisseur. What he picked for me were... -2024 Pepiere "Les Gras Moutons" (Muscadet) -Kobal "Bajta", Hazole Belo (aka Orange Wine) -Sandlands "Red Table Wine (Lodi Red Blend) With his wealth of knowledge, after giving him only a hint of what I liked, what Jeremy selected for me to sample/sip was a superb choice. All of them were world-class excellence with elegance and beauty. I carefully and slowly sipped each one little by little to truly immerse myself in the art of wine. Yes, wine is a piece of art for sure. I think I said it correctly at the beginning of this review. This is a cocktail bar with variety of spirits which Jeremy could easily concoct just about anything from gin-based one to vodka-based one to tequila-based ones to whiskey-based one to name several. For those who don't drink, their zero-proof section also has something interesting to browse and choose. Not to mention, rotating pilsner or IPA on tap to name a few from the beer section as well. If you need a little bite to eat, their (changing) food menu has a good number of New American-style plates. The bar originally opened in a different building back in 2015 (I believe). They moved to the current location in 2019. They also offer various different classes so you can expand/extend your knowledge. So for your next foodie vacation in Vail, make sure to include Root & Flower in your list.

Price: Expect standard Vail pricing for high-end cocktails, with most drinks ranging between $16-$20. Customer Service: The service was fantastic. The staff was incredibly kind and efficient; even though we stayed for quite a while to catch up, we felt welcomed and well-attended to the entire night. Atmosphere This spot has a cool, welcoming vibe that feels very safe. It's the kind of environment where you can really settle in and enjoy the company you're with. The Drinks I ordered the Sangre del Sol. The flavor was amazing, though be warned it is very strong! It's an excellent choice if you enjoy a cocktail with a serious kick, but I ended up letting my friend finish mine after a few sips. Overall Experience I highly recommend Root & Flower for a beautiful setting and top-tier service. Pro Tip: A huge bonus for this location is the parking! You can park for free after 3 PM at the S. Frontage Rd. East garage right nearby. I'll definitely be back!

This time I ordered the Schmidt Mac Burger with Parmesan Fries, while my wife had the Wagyu Reuben with a side salad. Every bite was delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly, the fries were crispy with just the right amount of Parmesan, and my wife's Reuben was loaded with flavor. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the food. After our meals were delivered, our server rarely checked back. We were never asked if we wanted another drink, and our water glasses sat empty long enough that we finally had to ask another server for refills. It wasn't a terrible experience, but it definitely wasn't the level of service you expect from a restaurant of this caliber. One thing to know before you go--the prices are on the higher side. My burger and Parmesan fries were around $33, so this isn't your average burger joint. That said, the quality of the food helps justify the price. Overall, the kitchen absolutely delivers, and that's why we'll be back. Hopefully this was just an off day for the service staff, because if the front of the house matched the outstanding food coming from the kitchen, Craftsman would easily earn five stars.

They weren't too familiar with the breakfast at the places we mentioned, but one person immediately said, "There's The Little Diner right down the street. It's very good and has even been featured on the Food Network." We decided to give it a try, and we are very glad we did. We arrived around 8:30 in the morning and sat at the counter. At the time we were the only customers there. A very nice lady brought us water and got me a coffee while we looked over the menu. It actually took us a while to decide because there were so many great sounding options. As we sat there deciding, more and more people started coming in. My wife ordered the sausage gravy over a biscuit with eggs and cheese grits, and I ordered the Eggs Benedict with potatoes. When the food arrived, everything looked excellent. The flavors matched the presentation too. My wife said the sausage gravy was outstanding, and my Eggs Benedict was excellent as well. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the potatoes were very good, and the hollandaise sauce had great flavor. While sitting at the counter, we spent some time talking with our server. She told us she had been there since shortly after the diner first opened. Unfortunately, she also explained that the building is scheduled to be demolished so condos can be built above the property, and they are unsure whether the diner will be able to return afterward. It's honestly sad to hear about a place this good possibly being pushed out because of rising development and rental costs. I understand building owners want to maximize profits, but it's disappointing when small local businesses that people truly enjoy are forced out by higher rents and redevelopment. Places like this are what give towns character. Overall, this place was excellent. Great food, friendly people, and exactly the kind of local spot you hope to find while traveling.
