Talk about service from the minute you walk in Mara is there to ensure you are treated like royalty. We had our fur babies with us so we placed our order got our beverages and went up on to the roof to eat our lunch and check out ALL the views. We ordered the Cliff Burgers and a side of hand made potato chips and some coleslaw. To drink I ordered the Mango IPA and my wife ordered Black Box Cab. Both hit the spot. For those looking for a true locals spot this is it. Mangos is a true hidden gem in the Valley. Food is amazing - make sure to get some wings or fish tacos. The food in this place was AMAZING. When you walk in, it looks like just a little pub. It's small with BIG taste. The bartender/waitress was attentive even though it was just her up front. The coolest thing about this place was that we used the trail from Vail Pass to snowmobile ourselves to it. The place is a a really cool bar/restaurant with amazing tasting food. They have a space upstairs but we sat downstairs due to their only being one attendant taking care of people. Our waitress/bartender was fast, friendly and gave great suggestions. Restrooms were clean, food was served hot and prices were not crazy bad. They have a Yelp check in discount of 10% as well! Definitely going to try to visit on our next visit. read more

Came in for dinner on a Saturday night over an hour before they were supposed to close. When we came in the bartender (who also is the waitstaff and the server?) showed us the menu. We decided what to order, waited twenty minutes for her to get done being the bartender for everyone and we finally went up to the bar to order it. She tells us they already are cleaning the kitchen and the only thing they can offer us is chips and salsa or fish tacos. There are no other places around so we didn't exactly have a choice. They didn't think of revising the menu that's only written on the little board to let the customers know this?! She couldn't tell us this instead of saying the menu was on the board. Sorry but that's horrible service and a lousy way to run a business, especially on a Saturday night! Sorry they decided to clean the kitchen more than an hour before they closed, but totally not our problem. There were four other groups that came in with us. The group right before us that ordered literally thirty seconds before us got burgers! This was a first in all the years I have traveled and I definitely would not recommend! Great spot I've been going to for years. We went the other day and the food and drink were great. Our waitress was very attentive also. However, it was pretty expensive and the only reason I'm writing is because there were no prices on beer. I can drink cheap beer just the same and would've especially since the person insisting on paying doesn't have much money, but was embarrassed to ask all the prices. We have been coming to Mango's Mountain Grill in Red Cliff since we stayed in a B&B in Minturn more than a decade ago. Our B&B host said Mango's had the best fish tacos anywhere, and she was right! Since then, we have moved to Leadville, about 45 minutes away, and visit Mango's when hiking or biking in the area or just traveling through. We have probably been there a dozen times. We love their selection of beer (and hard cider!) on tap. The fish tacos are still a favorite. You order by the taco, so you can have one or ten. I am a pescatarian, so in addition to the fish tacos, I have tried the grilled stuffed avocado (with black beans and corn), the homemade black bean burgers, the Impossible burgers, and all of the fries--spiral ("Sidewinder") fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. The onion rings are the best and my favorite splurge anywhere! I have also enjoyed the occasional fish or veggie special. My omnivore husband loves the burgers and the other meat-based dishes. Service has always been friendly and the atmosphere deliciously relaxing. A great feature is that dogs are welcome on the outside patio and the roof seating (which is not always open). If we are hiking with our dogs, we can all go to Mango's! That is fitting, because Mango's was named for the owner's dog. read more

Found this remote gem after an afternoon of hiking the Mt. Holy Cross wilderness trail.. great tasty food and service from Chuck and Ms. Sydney on the rooftop patio! Tried the 13 mile rugged backroad via Shrine Pass to connect to I-70.. definitely need a vehicle in great condition and clearance. Took about an hour and many places could not drive faster than 5mph! Mango's is a good post-hike option in lovely Red Cliff. We were famished, so it's possible everything tasted better. It was good. Nothing out of this world, but solid meal. This fish tacos are lauded as the best in CO. I don't know about that, but they were good. The grilled avocado was interesting. The fries were great. The veggie burger was fine, but we've had way better. So, all in all, solid place, but nothing tremendously special. read more

Yikes, we used to love this place. Last night the bartender was high as a kite on something and a total jerk. We worked to laugh it off with this guy with a sense of humor and patience for the lack of service but the abuse kept coming for our table. This place was comically bad, like I actually felt like I was being pranked?! Came in on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and saw their sunny rooftop so we asked to sit up there, waitress says yes but she's the only one working so we'd need to order at the bar. No problem. I go to order and she advises the $17 "handcrafted veggie burger" is now a Boca burger (AKA the cheapest veggie burger you can get, $5 for a 4 pack at the grocery store). Absolutely insane price but ok fine, whatever. She tells me come back down in 15 mins to pick up the food. I come down right on time 15 mins later, and she's complaining to other patrons that I haven't come yet and says she's about to put my food on the dirty elevator floor and let me find it in there???? WTF?? She also mixed up 2 tables orders and made a stink that god forbid they preferred a new plate bc a stranger had taken a bite of their food. It was a running joke for all the tables how bad the service was. After I bussed our dishes back down I stood around for 10 mins practically begging to pay and leave while she was cracking up in the kitchen. If you like ridiculously overpriced mediocre food and feeling like you're the worlds biggest inconvenience for simply existing, this place is perfect for you! read more

We visited the little town of Red Cliff and stayed at the Green Bridge Inn across the street and this restaurant came highly recommended. Inside: The inside has a really neat atmosphere. The background of the bar is shaped like their famous green bridge in town. The ceiling is covered in cash, and the wall have old photographs telling tales of the history of the town. The restaurant appeared to be very clean and the size of the tables gave plenty of room for the patrons to sit at and not be squished once their plates come. Food: We started off ordering the Boneless Chicken Wings (buffalo sauce on the side). It came with celery, carrots and ranch dressing. The food came out piping hot and everything tasted delicious and fresh. The outside was crispy but the chicken inside was tender. The buffalo sauce had the perfect spice. The portion was enough for 3-4 people. I ordered the Reuben sandwich (without the Russian sauce) and the sweet potato fries. It has hands-down the best Reuben sandwich I have ever had. The proportion of meat and sauerkraut was just right. The bread was lightly toasted, the meat was perfectly thin without any gristle or weirdness, the cheese was stringy and gooey, and the sauerkraut was the perfect ratio. The sweet potato fries were unlike anything I have ever had. They were huge! The outside of them was perfectly crisp, but the inside was slightly softer. They were out of this world delicious. The portions of food on one plate was seriously enough for 2 people to share. Overall, I would highly recommend this place! The service was a little slow, but our poor waiter was the only one in the whole place taking food orders, running the bar, clearing tables, running food out, refilling drinks, etc. He did a good job for being solo! read more
