However, when I was billed for the full amount ($300+), they said my insurance rejected the claim because AllCare is no longer an urgent care center, but a primary care center. The AllCare representative I spoke to also spewed some nonsense about them being an "immediate care." Apparently, "immediate care" is different from "urgent care" when it comes to medical coding. From the check in receptionist, to the nurses, to the doctors, I always have a pleasant experience here. The wait time is not that long (usually) and if it is they'll let you know. I actually received a letter once when everyone was sick around flu season and the letter was apologizing for the wait I had. I would highly recommend coming here for urgent care. They also have prescriptions that you can get at the location, so you don't have to go to your local pharmacy in two hours! I absolutely LOVE THAT! It's so convenient!

Here we are in this crazy, COVID-laden world and all I hear are "get tested" and "get vaccinated"…read morepractically every day. We've been dealing with this for two years now and it's getting quite tiresome honestly. Nevertheless, when I finally made the conscious decision to get vaccinated, I was trying to figure out where to go and found out that my local health department gives out the vaccine and you can choose which one you want. I was able to register online for my appointment. When I got my first two shots, I went to the vaccine clinic that the health department was holding at Howard County Community College. I recently got my booster and this time, I went to the actual health department location on Stanford Blvd in Columbia. Each visit was pretty seamless. I checked in, they verified which vaccine I was getting and if it was my first, second, or third shot, and then I got in line to wait for the next available nurse to give me the vaccine. Afterwards, they have a waiting area and ask you to wait 15 minutes to make sure you don't have any bad reactions to the vaccine and then you're on your way. The Howard County Health Department also offers COVID testing and distributes at-home tests as well. I'm hoping to see an end to this frenzy soon but I'm thankful that HoCo Health Department has been very helpful through all of this.

The testing lines seem to be long everywhere and here is no exception. On this Monday morning they were giving out 400 at home test kits and doing onsite testing from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. People started lining up at 6 AM for the at home test. Around 8 AM one of the employees came out and they passed out tickets to the first 200 people in line. This guarantee that each of them would receive two tests. Everyone else was sent home because there were no more tests available. But most of those people just walk and get into the line for the whole on site testing. There were a lot of walk-ups it only a few people who showed up with appointments. If you look online there were no appointments available. The weights were pretty long considering people waited over an hour before the doors even opened. Once they started the line move pretty quickly. Hopefully the situation improves and the testing locations will have the small backyards in the near future. Overall they are doing a pretty good job at the Howard county health department.

I have never had to wait more than 30 minutes to be taken to an exam room since it opened and usually it takes less time. You can book online or call for a scheduled appointment. They also quote you a price for cash basis (uninsured) patient care, which was reasonable when our daughter's boyfriend needed sutures when he cut himself doing a chore for us. Righttime in Olney has implemented new and more streamlined systems since they opened and yesterday I was happy with my care. I was called back to an exam room right away, my vitals & medical history/meds/primary care doctor confirmed. The doctor came in soon after. The system that they have in place appears to be working. You should temper your expectations, however. This is the place for cuts requiring sutures, allergic rashes, mild asthma, strep throat cultures, UTIs, pink eye, a bad cold, lung or breathing issues, x-rays, and other ailments that require antibiotics, suturing, etc. The prescribing of meds containing opioids is a hot topic in the U.S. these days due to the addiction epidemic so doctors are mindful of this unfortunate consequence and have cut back on prescribing opioids. It is not a phenomena of Righttime, it is happening all over the U.S. and in hospital ERs as well. Doctors are following protocols set in place by this epidemic. The doctors are staffed according to the clinic's historical trends, so arriving at 10am on a weekday might result in a dearth of medical staff if most patients come after work. Surges in the number of patients sometimes cannot be predicted, so you may need to wait longer during these times, but never as long as you do if you go to the hospital ER. It is way less expensive than an ER visit and I hope it will be in Olney for years to come.

Love having everything under one roof. A great alternative to larger medical practices and struggling to get appointments. My husband is a retired Internist so I know the challenges of today's healthcare. Kelly Care is certainly a good step in the right direction.
