My daughter hurt her wrist enough to need a splint. Her insurance unfortunately all of a sudden required a referral for an orthopedic. I called Arundel Peds to get them to fax one. They wouldn't because she was considered "a new patient" because she hadn't been in a few years. My daughter was in a lot of pain, and really didn't need to be poked at. They wouldn't fax a referral even though I explained to she was in no condition to be seen. The receptionist have/had no bedside manner! When we took her they insisted she get shots in both arms (including the sore arm) really??? (Her dad took her or id off insisted to wait) Then when she saw the doctor we were told that a well visit was not even needed. So put my kid through more unnecessary misery instead of faxing a referral. We will be changing insurances and going elsewhere!

My daughter has been a patient since 2009. They came to the hospital when she was first born and were very knowledgeable about the process! My daughter was a patient of Dr. Jobes, who left this practice! We simply adored her and were sad that she was leaving! However, we had to choose another primary in the office and were pleased to with all of the options present! All of the docs and nurses are very knowledgeable and are very good with children and babies! My daughter is not afraid at all to come to the office for a visit! Even for shots, they are quick and get em done! We totally adored the young lady Vanessa who assisted in our daughter's appointments prior to her turning 3! She cared very much for our little one which made it very easy to come back and feel good about the practice! The office is very colorful with a sick room and a well room to keep the children separate if they are ill! Then I called again and the person answering the phone said "you have to be here in person and show us your insurance card in order for us to verify" OK I took the bait as I needed the care At the front desk, they took a copy of the insurance card and said yes, they accept my insurance. Fast forward a few weeks no claims were made so I called the clinic to check They asked me to call the billing department. The billing department said that I do have a patient with them, but there is no record of me ever being treated, set, they will write a note on the record, and ask the clinic to update. Fast forward a week I called the billing department and they said they were no updates to my record. I called the clinic again, and asked if there is anything that they need from me to complete the billing paperwork. The lady who interacted with me over the phone, said that she has updated the records, and it should be sufficient for the billing department to process. I asked if it's done in real time and she said yes I called the billing department and they say nothing has changed. I am beginning to sense shady practice here. Is there any sinister incentive for them to get delay billing or is it just sheer Lack of professional discipline. I'd be curious to hear other yelpers experience and how this got resolved with these guys.

The office is well-organized, the staff is consistently friendly, and the environment is clean and welcoming. We really appreciate the separation of well and sick visit areas -- it's a thoughtful touch that gives extra peace of mind. Everyone we've encountered has been so kind to our 1.5-year-old, which helps him feel completely at ease during visits. They genuinely interact with the kids and make the experience positive from start to finish. I recently had to call on a weekend and was connected with a nurse who was incredibly helpful and thorough in answering my questions. That kind of care really stands out. We see Dr. Diane Landram, and she is absolutely wonderful. She takes the time to listen, offers helpful and up-to-date information, and never makes you feel rushed or dismissed. This is exactly what pediatric care should look like -- highly recommend!

They are snippy, impatient, and rude. While we like our doctor, who continues to practice there, we often have to deal with the nursing staff on the phone for tele-health type questions about illness and having school forms completed. In the past the nurses have been so kind and helpful but lately it has been an unpleasant experience all around. During the past few encounters I've found the nurses to be quite demeaning, impatient, and condescending. While we have had a positive experience with the doctor, we are looking to switch to another practice due to the poor quality of the nursing staff.

This year I've been seen by three separate practitioners at Visionary Women's Health for a number…read moreof different gynecological assessments and procedures and I've taken my mother, who is nearly 90, for a needed appointment there as well, and all of the practitioners were knowledgeable, informative, caring, and patient during the appointments and Tola Fashokun was especially gentle and insightful with my mom; however, the follow up after one of the appointments has been egregiously unacceptable. I first came to this practice on the recommendation of my primary care physician, who advised that I see a new gynecologist. Previous testing earlier this year showed that I needed to be assessed for possible endometrial cancer and possible unrelated cervical cancer. To address this Janis Logan, a nurse practitioner at Visionary Women's Health, gave me a biopsy of my endometrial lining and a colposcopy which turned out to include several biopsies as well. I've been dealing with these cancer scares for a couple of years now, and Janis Logan explained to me what's been going on with my body and my previous test results more thoroughly and clearly than anyone has to date. The procedures were painful, but she was caring and walked me through everything she was doing, and she even asked me if I wanted the nurse in the room to hold my hand when things got especially tough, which is something I had never been offered before during painful procedures such as these, and it helped to ease the situation a great deal for me. It is clear that this practice puts thought and effort into making women's health not only effective, but also comfortable and accessible (they accept my medical-assistance insurance). After the appointment, Janice Logan let me know that she would be having a follow up TeleMed appointment with me after the results were in to let me know the findings and if I would need a followup procedure such as a hysteroscopy or ultrasound. Because I was waiting to find out whether I had two different types of cancer, I called in about a week to see if the results were in and was told that not all of the results had come back yet and that someone would call me when they did, and I tried again at week two and was told the same thing and was given the additional information that it can sometimes take as long as three weeks for the results to come back. Almost four weeks later I still hadn't heard anything and I was back at the practice for another appointment for an unrelated problem and an appointment for my mother, and I requested that someone speak to me about my test results while I was there. I was told that the practitioner would speak to me about it after my appointment, and then I was given the update that she would speak with me after I attended my mother's appointment with her, and then I was given a third update that the practitioner would call me after I got home. I did not receive a phone call after I got home nor did I receive a phone call the next day. I called again the day after that to ask once again if I could speak with the practitioner to find out the results, and the person taking the call spoke with the practitioner herself and then came back to tell me that a nurse from their practice had already sent me a two-sentence message four days after my procedure was done saying that the results of my biopsy were normal and that I was to call if I had any questions. I explained that I had called several times since then and was told that not all the test results were back, as well, I did not know which of my biopsies that written message was referring to, and so I asked the person on the phone does this mean that the test results were negative for endometrial cancer and negative for cervical cancer, and she replied that she was unable to answer that question, and I once again said that I would like to speak to someone who could answer that question. She told me that the practitioner would call me before 12 noon that day to let me know about the cancer results, which did not occur. She also volunteered that I should request to speak with the head of the practice, Dr. Amy Gueye-Weinstein, to address the problems I was having in getting my results. When I had not heard from the practitioner by noon, I called to request that Dr. Gueye-Weinstein call me, and the person I spoke with said that she would have her colleague, Dr. Gueye-Weinstein, call me and also added that she would have the practitioner I hadn't heard from to call me as well. Neither of them has called me. More than four weeks later, I still don't know whether I have either one of these cancers. I also still don't know whether all of my test results are in, whether I need any additional procedures, or why no practitioner is returning my calls. Update: They had the results, which indicate that I don't have cancer, just 4 days after my procedure, which was before my first phone call. I still haven't received a return phone call.

Because i'm a caregiver for my grandkids and foster children, i decided to take advantage of being tested . Went to First Call in Gambrills ( previously known as Chesapeake Ergent Care, w/same contact info) They were incredibly well run. -Open 7 days! -no appt needed -wait in-vehicle -lines are outside -Rapid & send out test -Test was not painful, just a bit uncomfortable The swab seemed to be flexible -even with a double line of 12-15 cars, it was well organized, supervised traffic director, smooth process, and a bit over an hour total time spent there ! After some of the negative stories of the process .. I was surprised.

This office left me feeling abandoned and dismissed during one of the scariest medical experiences…read moreof my life. I was sent home after my procedure with incomplete discharge papers that weren't even signed. Within 30 minutes, I was in severe abdominal pain and unable to urinate. I called the office and was told this was "normal." Only 15 minutes later, for them to call me back saying something wasn't right, and was instructed to go to urgent care for a catheter. Urgent care couldn't help, and I ended up being taken by ambulance to the ER--per Dr. Lowe's own recommendation. What's even more upsetting is that after sending me to the ER, no one from this office ever followed up to see if I was okay. The only communication I received was about making my payment. At my follow-up appointment, no one in the office seemed aware of my complications or ER visit. I shared my frustration about the lack of concern, and I was told Dr. Lowe wasn't available--another physician saw me instead. Later that day, Dr. Lowe called and completely dismissed my concerns. He said it was "just complications," that it didn't matter he hadn't followed up, and overtalked me when I tried to explain how traumatic the experience had been. He even said, "That's what consent forms are for," as though signing paperwork excuses any lack of care. His final reminder? That I still needed to pay my bill. This entire experience made it clear that once my procedure was done, I wasn't seen as a patient anymore--just as a payment. Patients, black woman, deserve better communication, compassion, and basic follow-up, especially after being sent to the ER by their own doctor.
