My experience with Optima Care in Casa Grande has not been very good. Although staff is very nice…read morewhen you walk in, doctors do not provide what is called "bedside manners"; do not pay much attention to the problem, order inside tests that seem unnecessary, and one has to call for results. on my surgery, did not send pre-op information as requested. Manager do not follow thru on complaints and difficult to reach. I am planning to search for another clinic, where hopefully I can find better attention. Pls do what I am recently doing: Contacting Medicare, and also double checking billings to them. We have to exert our own judgement.

I had trouble finding the location. I was close but still couldn't find it, I had 5 minutes until my appointment time when I called the office for directions. I was on hold for 8 minutes while waiting for help. The person answered and I informed them of my situation and they gave me the address. I arrived 14 minutes late for my appointment and was told they have a 10-minute grace period for tardiness; they would need to ask Lionel Vasquez if he would see me. Lionel Vasquez declined to see me, and I was told to reschedule. I missed their tardiness window by 4 minutes which could have been avoided if they had answered their phones in a timely manner. Yes, I was at fault but for 4 minutes and they didn't care about the long hold time, really? If you're looking for compassionate care, you won't find it here.

Optum Primary Care of Gilbert is as good as any medical facility around. I typically see Patrick…read moreLopez who is a knowledgeable and professional physician with a wonderful bedside manner. I've seen Patrick for over 4 years and have always been extremely satisfied with his care, recommendations, and medical evaluations. I would highly recommend Optum Promary Care of Gilbert and Patrick Lopez.

There is this huge complicated story that goes along with how I wound up at the former Gilbert…read morePrimary Care, now Optum. Let's just say that my wife was in Phoenix before me and picked some things like doctors without a lot of research. I moved here as a permanent resident in 2022, but she was visiting our "vacation home" in 2020 when covid hit, and was basically stuck here. I can honestly say that I love the practitioner she picked, but the practice as a whole, while filled with nice people, is mediocre at best. One great example is when my wife was trying to make an appointment, and called and reached a hold for someone to make the appointment for her. I think she pressed 4, which later we figured out meant 4-ever. After 15 minutes on hold I told her we would be better off driving there and being sure we got the appointment rather than waiting for them to answer. So I actually drover here there while she was on hold and after 45 minutes on hold she stood across from the scheduler while she was still on hold. I wouldn't even bother sharing this if it wasn't a common occurrence. Today I had an appointment at 10am for a pre-surgery release, and as 11am passed I wondered if they forgot about me. Soon after they came and got me. The MA handling my check in was either not feeling well or her favorite pet just died. In any case she got my vitals and I waited another 15 minutes for my NP to come in. As she opened the door I let her know she was running very late. Of course she already knew that. My wife likes to jabber, and I think that is why my wife picked this practitioner. She likes to let people jabber on and on. I honestly prefer the doctors that get to the point and get me in and out as quickly and efficiently as possible. So, 45 minutes later (after she walked in late) I was finally able to get the things I needed and move on. Changing practices is no fun, but I am certainly considering it after the thumb twiddling I did today. I am not going to mention the NP's name since I ultimately blame the practice for not managing their patient load properly. She certainly bears some of the blame, but as a practice, I do not recommend them. Anyone I can reach by car quicker than by phone deserves a thumbs down. "let your fingers do the walking" - yeah, right!

Use this as a massive warning! (And I am seeing others comment in these reviews similarly.) Circumstance 1: I went in to the Urgent Care for a UTI and was charged, using insurance, $812.00 just for a dip stick urine test and under a 2 minute doctor consultation to write me an RX. My insurance paid $7.37 total because they said that is the cost of a test. That makes sense. So what is left is costing me over $400 a minute for help for face to face care with a doctor. Circumstance 2: I went to the same Urgent Care (didn't have the bill for the previous one, otherwise I would not have gone) for bronchitis and a sinus infection. Again, heart rate, bp, and a stethoscope to my chest was all that was done, in addition to the prescription to take to a local pharmacy (no xrays or anything like that). This one was charged $528...so over $150 per minute to be face to face with a doctor. Both times I went, I was the ONLY patient in the waiting room (and didn't see one in the main part of the rooms). It's not like I was at a high peak time even. Why weren't others there...probably because they have read so many poor reviews unlike I did. I was telling this with a friend of mine and she told me that this happened to her as well (same location for an ear infection), resulting in an outlandish bill, so I am not the only person that this has happened to. I have called many times to get them to recode/adjust trying to dispute it even asking for the self payout, and they are not budging. They are standing behind their stomach-dropping fees. I will also say, I have gone to this location other times in past years for the same issues and never received such outlandish bills. It's as if they are treating this like an emergency room (and with my multiple phone calls the billing department employees keeps saying "ER"). I have driven by the place to make sure it didn't change to an ER and I mistakenly didn't notice, but the sign on the building (and the website) says Urgent Care. I am NOT trying to get out of paying for my services, but I will stand up for what is "right" and announce to many what a horrible company they have become. Seems like the only thing I can do is leave a bad review, notify the news company, file a complaint with the department of health, in addition to my insurance company (Blue Cross) knowing. Price gouging at its finest. Very deceiving business practice. Please go anywhere but here! Never, ever again will I use them! (Look at the slew of Google reviews on this place. I am by far not the only one!)
