Since it was a pre-op clearance, Mely performed an EKG with a portable device she could wheel into the examination room. Next Kylie, PA actually looked into my ears, mouth and felt my stomach which my doctor has never done. She went over my blood pressure, temperature and EKG readings and told me which meds to stop taking one week prior. She sent me down to the lab for blood and urine tests after. I was happy and impressed that both ladies were both kind, thorough and very pretty plus easy to talk to. I was told if I don't get a call, that's good news and I'm cleared for surgery.

She asked about my symptoms and explained the test she would perform. I returned 40 min later as instructed for the test results. Dr. Gomez then spoke to me about my test results and my choices for medication or wait to see if I get better with the over the counter medications I was already taking. She was very kind, professional, and ensured my lungs were clear of congestion. She spoke in detail about my tests and ensured I didn't have any questions. she wrote a note for me to give to my employer as I would be out sick for 5 days. I appreciate her thinking about that as I may have forgotten to ask as I had a terrible headache. thank you to Dr Gomez, the nurse Dawn, and Mille for my care today what a wonderful team. also the waiting room was large enough so people were not in close proximity to each other. there were masks available and plenty of kleenex and hand sanitizer.

I took a nap and decided to return around 6pm. I walked in and went to check in. The employees working at that time were extremely rude and said they weren't taking anyone at the moment. She said "Didn't you see the sign on the door?" I just walked out. I see why this place has so many bad reviews. The workers are super rude and the whole policy of sitting in the waiting room while sick, possibly exposing your germs to others is so inane. I would've preferred to go to straub Kapolei urgent care but I don't think I would've been able to handle the car ride. I had an urgent problem that needed to be addressed and I normally go to the ER but I found that I could set an appointment with my primary care physician through the app. Unfortunately I missed it so when I was able to call the booking appointments call Center they were able to rebook me to an urgent care at the Kapolei location. This is unheard of to me. When you're missing an appointment, you miss an appointment. I've always known that you just have to go again in a week or two or maybe in a month if your doctor is available but for them to be flexible enough to get me care within a four hour timeframe was really cool especially with how important it was for me to be seen. When I first came in, I checked in at the kiosk, and the check-in process was super simple. It was my first time coming here, so I wasn't sure where to go. The front desk receptionist noticed that I needed help, and after the security guard checked my check-in, she pointed me in the right direction. My nurse was really nice, and the urgent care doctor was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I felt well taken care of. On a side note, I noticed they have all-gender restrooms and nice waiting areas. Near the waiting area, there was also a little wellness station where it looked like you could check your blood pressure, which I thought was interesting. Their pharmacy is conveniently located right in the middle of the building and is easily accessible. I also like that they're open until 8 PM. Google says they close at 5 PM, which isn't accurate. I'm so happy there's an urgent care close to Kapolei. I've been going to the Waipio location because it's along my commute, and I've also gone out of my way to visit the Moanalua location. Knowing there's one here is great, it's definitely better than going to Queen's Emergency Room all the time! I know I sound like I'm a regular at the hospital, but lately I've been so sick that I actually have been. It's such a breath of fresh air to know that Kaiser has a great medical team that takes such great care of their patients. I also love the modern care I receive through the app. I'm able to schedule appointments, view my test results, and communicate directly with my doctor all in one place. The "Get Care Now" feature is another favorite because I can quickly get medical advice from a healthcare professional. What a great idea! All Access Ortho is just a couple of blocks from my office, and 5 miles from home. Add to that their 7-days-a-week and late availability for walk-in appointments, and it's all a great setup. On both visits, I needed to have x-rays taken, and it's convenient and fast, right there. The doctor's and nurses I've seen have been kind, efficient and knowledgeable. I liked them enough that I even took my other half there when he needed ortho care. He got good care, as well. Parking is free and right out front, and in a separate, smaller lot from the other shops (Foodland, etc.) on the strip mall, which makes it pretty easy. If the lot gets full, there's lots more closer to the shops, and even street parking very close by. As for billing, I found the pricing no different from any of my other medical visits, using my great insurance.

Seeing firsthand how well they cared for their patient while I was there during the admission completely changed my perspective. The staff was attentive and professional, and it truly restored my trust and confidence in their level of care. This time I was there as a visitor instead of a patient, and I also discovered a small Starbucks corner in the waiting area past the vending machines (which unfortunately weren't working). It was such a nice surprise. They had great options, I grabbed a turkey pesto sandwich, a Smartwater, and a nutter butter and it definitely helped hold me over during the ER wait. Little comforts like that really make a difference when you're spending hours there.
