I will definitely say that seeing all the showroom models really helped me better understand what I wanted vs what I needed vs what makes the most sense for my window situation. Even after a very informative and eye-opening experience in the showroom, I had trouble committing because, well, I always have trouble! But going there really helped me decide. Ultimately, I scheduled an appointment for an in-home consultation, basic measurements and quote. Marla sent Nancy for my visit and she was just a breath of fresh air to work with! From one knowledgeable person to another. It made the final decision really easy when I worked with two people who have been in the business a long time and really understood what they were talking about. Nancy gave me a lot of good guidance on top of what Marla had already shared with me in the showroom. Nancy was exceptional at the gentle nudging that really helped solidify my decisions with regards to what styles of coverings to use on each window (taking into consideration what room of the house it was, which direction it was facing and what would be seen from outside). It eased my nerves to work with someone who had the answers and explanations I needed. She helped me narrow down styles, colors, trim styles, retractable mechanism options, material and everything else! It was such a weight to finally decide! My official measurements and installation appointments were completed by Jacob and his helper Mike. Really nice guys. They were so quick and efficient with their time. Although they were in and out in no time, it didn't at all feel rushed. The product installation knowledge was clear in their efficiency and ease of service. They were also very respectful of my home and took necessary measure to ensure not trekking in outside dirt or leaving any trash behind. They also made sure to provide me with all the necessary reminders for new installations and warranty paperwork. Ultimately, I decided on all Hunter Douglas products for the exceptional quality built and materials as well as warranty offered. The products I chose were: -Hunter Douglas Palm Beach Vinyl Shutters (easy to maintain and clean, will not yellow for decades- LIFETIME WARRANTY!) on all front facing windows- for aesthetics and curb appeal. -Hunter Douglas Duette Honeycomb shades for all other windows facing the back and sides of house. Depending on room and accessibility to shade, some have the Literise (mania lift) and some have the Ultraglide (wand with hidden cord). Honeycombs obstruct my view the least and the cord mechanism has a lifetime warranty so I don't have to stress about the 5 year limited warranty on a motorized shade. I have all the extended details if anyone is really interested. But I've already divulged too much here. Cost was another positive thing. I won't share specifics as that will depend on what specific options you choose, but I don't think you can ever go wrong with the quality of Hunter Douglas products and warranty. All I know is, I got a price quote and then after the final measurement, it came back cheaper because Nancy found an active rebate for me! Woohoo! The process from start to finish was a mere 4-5 weeks at the time of my purchases. The final result was custom built window coverings that were made to fit all of my windows precisely. Definitely not something I could ever accomplish on my own. I paid for the experience of working with a completely professional and knowledgeable team as well as top tier quality products. Never once did I feel rushed. Tony and Sean are the BEST! They know their stuff. They took all the guess work out of picking window coverings for my home. They are such an absolute joy to work with. I needed to replace window coverings in three rooms and over my slider. They came into my home. Clearly figured out my style through listening and looking at what I already had. Then they got to work presenting me with options... giving suggestions and explaining the pros and cons of each items. Once I choose the blinds, they went right to work picking out the color that would best blend with what I already had. They were absolutely fascinating to watch. They showed me several options not only in the books; but pictures from other jobs. When I asked if they had a show room, Tony told me that they did not. They were not just saying that. When my blinds arrived, they scheduled an instal. They put them up and I was thrilled. However, they were not. Their was a tiny spot I didn't even notice. They tried to clean it to perfection. When they could not, they informed me that was unacceptable. They were ordering me new ones. I could keep the old ones until the new ones came in. They are perfectionist. When the new ones came in they came out and installed them to perfection. I love all my blinds. I thought this was to be an update on my first review and I can't find it. I'll be horrified if I never sent it. Ugh. Update: After having my blinds for three months, I went to sit in my recliner and it did the strangest thing. It tipped back and ripped a little hole in my new blinds. I figured I'd just have to live with it. I threw up a quick prayer, and the Holy Spirit impressed on my heart to reach out to Catalog Blinds to see if they had any way of repairing it. Tony told me they did not. However, he had totally forgotten to send back my original order. I knew then that my God was looking out for me. They would come out and install my first order at no charge to me! Upon​ arriving they saw the tiny rip and thought it was so low and unnoticeable that it would be best to keep the ones with the rip.... as well as leave me the other blinds in case the rip got worse. They would then come back and reinstall the first ones at no cost to me in the future. They would eat the difference. They just wanted me to be happy. I've never seen any two people love their jobs so much and truly want their customers happy above all else. These two were true gifts from God to me. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM ABOVE ALL OTHERS! A few days later I emailed Ruby asking if they offer any discounts. She said they offer 10% off for Veterans. In less than three weeks, we received a call from Phil, the owner, who said they had received a Sunday shipment and he could install them the following Wednesday.
