My experience with PAMF dates all the way back to Camino Medical Group some 20 years ago. My previous PAMF provider, who took care of me for 8 years, left for MassGen Brigham (proof that I only pick the greatest PCPs). So I switched my entire family's care to Dr. Liao a year ago after failing a few other options. I've been very happy with her care so far. She has a sharp mind and is very efficient. I like how her appointments are always on time yet she could cover a lot of things in short visits, grasping the key issues immediately, and coming up with a plan. She never hesitates to make referrals, even for little things that I would be tempted to ignore. And she finds the best specialist to get me the right treatments, which turned out not as complicated as I had imagined. She motivates me to take better care of my body and keep up with my check-ups not by talking but by her diligent work. Everyone else in my family also likes her a lot. She communicates well with kids from preschoolers to teens and young adults, as well as children with special needs. I was upset and anxious when my previous provider left PAMF, but she has brought peace back into my mind. It's kind of sad that today's PAMF deals with many issues like discrimination, meritocracy, bureaucracy, etc. Thus, as a patient, I think it is even more important to give every doctor benefits of the doubt. Don't be fooled by the years of practice or ivy degrees or social media, judge with your own eyes and experience. Each time (and there were several), Wahiba gladly assisted me in any way she could; I was treated with kindness and respect every time. On one occasion, she even called Costco's technical support to address an issue I had. The rest of the staff is excellent too. If you have to leave a message, you will get a call back. I and my family have suffered a bit due to my moderate to severe hearing loss from military service…read moreover 35 years ago. I have tried the EARGO product which worked well for about a year, but after numerous failures made them unreliable and the warranty was only good for a year. I then went w/o any hearing aids for a year which was terrible for me in restaurants & yes one on one conversations. I heard about Connect Hearing. I contacted them and spoke to Heather Porter. Making an appointment was a pleasure and easy. Heather has a friendly demeanor which made arrangements easy and set the tone that I was going to deal with professionals. This opinion was reinforced in person. Doug Kuenning, Hearing Aid Specialist, gave me a very thorough hearing test which confirmed what I already knew from previous tests. My hearing was bad in the speech range and it wasn't getting better over the years. Doug asked me specific questions about my hearing history and checked the inside of my ear. Doug went over the hearing test with me explaining why I was having trouble in various situations. Doug is a serious and meticulous hearing profeswhen it comes to discussing hearing loss and as he wears them too. His knowledge is pretty amazing and you are put at ease when he speaks. He enjoys probing his clients to get us to explain our hearing experience. FYI I was having trouble especially in crowded rooms or even hearing my grandson in the back of my car. Sometimes I had to pull over to turn around and talk to him. After some additional conversations Doug recommended a behind the ear (BTE) device. I am a bit vain but Doug reviewed the device and showed me how well it is hidden (he had a mirror) so I was offered a free trial for a week which turned out to be a bit longer but this was no issue and no obligation. He explained how this specific model would apply to my hearing problems. Well I went on vacation and returned to Connect Hearing after 10 days. Doug's recommendation made my vacation in the mountains significant better. I could hear my wife during the airline trip, hearing the waiter/waitress in restaurants was easy, I could hear birds & streams on our hikes and most importantly I can hear my grandkids speak in the car. I will wrap this review up thanking Doug for his expertise and Heather for her hospitality. I now own my aids for about 3 months and I am thrilled and my family is too. I have returned to Doug twice more and as hearing adjustments should be made over a period of time as my experience allows Doug to make very small computer adjustments to provide me with the best hearing. One question remains, why didn't I work with Connect Hearing years ago? Thank you Doug, Heather & Connect Hearing. I love my new life. February 2020 I stopped by to ask a few questions and Heather helped me out. Heather is always helpful to her clients and I bought my aids 18 months ago. Dr. Wong was recommended to me by a family member and he has been my doctor, my wife's doctor, and…read moremy son's doctor for many years. He was also my mother's doctor before her passing from cancer. I read some reviews below talking about wait times. I can sympathize with their frustration, but I have never witnessed some of the times mentioned below. I know from experience that doctors don't run late because they are out playing golf. They run late for reasons like: they were responding to a hospital or care facility for a patient emergency or people show up late to their appts in the office which pushes ALL of the office schedule out of alignment for the rest of the day - the only way to recover would be to either cancel appts or he skips lunch for the entire office. I never doubt for a moment that he doesn't have myself or my families needs and concerns at heart. When my mom was in the hospital with a medical emergency, and her assigned doctor wasn't taking her recovery seriously (risking a case of renal failure), I brought in doctor Wong who took over and saved my mom's kidneys and probably her life too. My mom stayed with him as her doctor even after she was diagnosed with cancer that took her in two months. Dr. Wong was always attentive and honest about her outlook. He even called me after hours many times to check on my mom, discuss my mom's health and cancer, and was there for my mom and I when she was passing. He knew she was not a fan of doctors and he tailored his care and responses to try and put her at ease and encourage her continued interaction in her preventative care. He even recommended a fantastic heart doctor for my mom. My interactions with doctor Wong have been the same. He's honest and upfront about medical issues. He refers me to specialists when the need calls for it, and he doesn't just come in and lift my arm and walk out. He thoroughly regards all of my health history to help try and keep my healthy. He even operates two offices - one in Dublin and one in Livermore at the time of this review (I think he had one in Pleasanton that closed). This helps make his services available to multiple areas of the community. I trust doctor Wong and appreciate his care.
