At the end of our paid consultation, I shared that I would do my homework and follow up. When I shared via email that I was seeing quite a bit of pricing variance online, East Bay Hearing immediately dropped the price from $7K to $5K. When I did further online research, and shared screenshots documenting that the Oticon Intent 1 was available for $3399 one place and $4445 at another place, they said they would try to price match. They later communicated they could not go lower than $5000. If they had been willing to improve their pricing even a little (to, say, $4800), as a sign of good faith, we would have likely gone with them (their location and service was appealing to us) but their hard line stance on the $5K (coupled with the fact their original quote of $7K was nearly 30% higher than their second quote of $5K - which they offered up as soon as I shared my benchmarks, suggesting they're regularly overcharging folks who are not skilled at online price benchmarking), turned me off.

I've even referred my sisters and friends here because of the positive results I've had in the past. During my last session, the appointment started about 8-9 minutes late (which I completely understand happens). However, the treatment itself felt much shorter than my previous sessions and didn't feel as thorough. Unfortunately, the results reflected that -- I experienced ingrown hairs and had to shave the treated area three times within just 7 days, which has never happened after my past treatments. I did try reaching out to share this feedback but didn't receive a response. I still like SEV and hope future sessions return to the quality I previously experienced, and regret that they no longer value customers feedback as they first opened in Walnut Creek location.
