Having the ability to lease hearing aids instead of having to pay for them outright was a big plus for my parents, plus there were other perks like getting new batteries as part of the leasing arrangement. HOWEVER, a couple of years ago my mother's dementia progressed to the point where she had to be moved to an assisted living facility. At one point while she was there, the facility had to send her to the hospital for an unexpected decline in her condition, which was then immediately followed by a four month stay at a rehabilitation facility. Somewhere along the way, either the assisted living facility or the hospital or the rehab facility lost my mother's hearing aids. Of course, none of those facilities would take responsibility for the loss, as it was easy for any of them to point the finger of blame at one of the other facilities. After all this happened, I called Brandywine Hearing to find out if they could replace my mother's lost hearing aids. They weren't very understanding of the situation, and said she would have to pay the remainder of the value of the lost hearing aids before she could get replacements. My mother couldn't afford to pay the several thousand dollars that would have cost, so for about 15 months following, she went without hearing aids, but still had to continue to pay her monthly lease of $170. A couple of days ago, I called Brandywine Hearing to find out when my mother's lease would be up, and it turned out that it was this month. They then informed me that she could either return the hearing aids to conclude the lease, or pay the 20% of the original value of the hearing aids (which amounts to $1100). Now granted, the loss of the hearing aids was not Brandywine Hearing's fault, but I am very disappointed that they couldn't find any way to help my mother out in this situation, given that she and my father had been long-time and loyal customers. Would it have been so hard for them to at least reduce the cost of the buyout a little? You have to imagine that their markup for the hearing aids they provide is pretty significant.

This morning as I was inserting the receiving part of one of my hearing aids, the receiver and dome fell off the connecting tube in my right ear. I could not remove them! I then called Wilmington Audiology service and was told that Lisa Lewis would call me back when she arrived. An hour later, I received a call and she said that she would see me that morning. I drove to her office and when I arrived, another patient was just leaving and she saw me immediately. She skillfully removed the receiver and dome in seconds and then replaced the receiver, dome, and connecting tube. I left her office less than 30 minutes later. Fantastic service!

I was told when I lost hearing from a virus at 36 that nothing could be done. I was also o told cross hearing aids back then didn't work. They looked funny too. The only drawback is crosses only last 12 hrs a day. So if you are able you can sit them in charger for an hour or up to 3 for a full charge. The service is great. So happy I tried.
