We visited Miracle Mile Outpatient Surgery Center for our four year old son's procedure, which was scheduled and directed through The Breathe Institute and Dr. Zaghi. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Shahbaz Farnad, had our son interact with an anesthesia mask that had flavored chapstick applied to the inside. When I asked if that would be the same mask used during the procedure, I was told it would be. This was something that raised concerns for us from a sterility and infection control standpoint. It did not feel in line with the expected surgical standards of care. Before anesthesia, several staff members asked our son what movie he wanted to watch while going under, and he excitedly chose Cars. We later learned too late that the TV was not working, and no alternatives were provided to help ease his nerves. When it came time to start the procedure, things escalated quickly and unexpectedly. The mask was pressed forcefully onto our son's face without clear explanation, and he was physically pulled from my arms while crying, scared, and repeatedly saying "don't hold me down." When I expressed concern afterward, I was told that what I had witnessed was normal, but it was deeply upsetting to witness and felt poorly managed. After surgery, I was brought to a room where a nurse was holding our son, still unconscious. I was asked to take him immediately while he was then passed into my arms while the procedure was reviewed verbally. We were then rushed to leave the facility so he could wake up in his car seat. No option was given for him to wake under pediatric medical supervision, and we felt this was neither safe nor appropriate. As we left, he woke suddenly, crying and repeating "don't hold me down," visibly traumatized. No pain medication was provided, and we were stuck in traffic with a distressed, inconsolable child. This experience added unnecessary trauma to an already challenging recovery. When I later expressed my concerns to Dr. Zaghi, I was told our son would forget. Sadly, that has not been the case. He continues to have strong emotional reactions tied to the experience, including fear around anesthesia and his car seat. I do not believe our son's physical or emotional wellbeing was handled with the appropriate level of care. I would strongly recommend that other parents ask thorough questions, advocate for their child's comfort and safety, and be clear on what to expect before choosing this facility. read more

Thank you Dr. Nazarian...!! I have worn hearing aids my whole life and I have been in and out of ENT and Audiologist's offices my whole life. After an unexpected hearing loss, I began to realize that hearing aids were no longer powerful enough for me and sure enough, I now required the use of cochlear implants. Kaiser Permanente (Sunset/Hollywood), House Ear Clinic, Cedars Sinai ENT Dept., USC and UCLA were all candidates, but you never once made me feel like a ticket or a number, you listened and made me feel like a human. Everywhere else, they wanted to focus on the nausea, vertigo, constant headaches possible damage, side effects, and things that could go wrong, which I get...it can happen. But you, you wanted to brag about the amazing results I was going to accomplish, and I too wanted to try, and I was ready to try. For anybody contemplating a cochlear implant surgery, please give him a try, or at least talk to him!! I know everyone's case is unique and different, and I cannot speak for everyone, but this is my story: After now knowing I needed to choose which ear to do first, I wanted to do a cochlear implant on my "bad" ear first since I have survived my whole life on my "good" ear and I was not ready to let go of my good ear. I wanted to at least say I tried everything I could with my bad ear, before letting go of my good ear, it just seemed easier on me mentally. Let me remind you, I have worn hearing aids my whole life and I needed my good ear to survive at work in case anything should go wrong. The ENT surgeon at Kaiser on Sunset in Hollywood, and the ENT surgeon at Cedars Sinai both told me to choose differently since "I was being too optimistic". I put that in parenthesis because those were their exact words. In just 4 months since I have been activated, or turned on, in a quiet environment, I went from 13% hearing to 84% In a noisy environment I went from a 0% hearing, to a whopping 56%...!! Again, all this in 4 months and I still have more volume increases (mapping sessions) which means I am only going to keep hearing better! I cannot express enough in words how much better I am hearing in what used to be my bad ear. I now understand what Dr. Nazarian was trying to tell me all along. Another thing, I used to rely on reading lips SO much, that nowadays, I find that I no longer need to read lips....which is HUGE since everyone wears face masks. In fact, all I keep thinking about is what else am I missing out on. This curiosity has led me to schedule my other ear to be done with Dr. Nazarian. So, next week I am getting my second cochlear implant done; 2 cochlear implant surgeries in 1 year speaks volumes of how comfortable I am with this surgeon. I also want to take the time to thank Monica, who handles all the questions, insurance talk and financials. You made this whole process an easy one and you have been there every step of the way. She had to be under anesthesia for two hours. The team communicated with me extensively before our trip regarding insurance and payment options and what to expect. The night before the surgery, the anesthesiologist called me personally to ask questions and answer any questions that I might have. On the morning of the surgery, they were so kind to me and my toddler, taking the time to make her feel comfortable and smile. They sang and danced with me as I tried to ease any uncomfortable feelings before going on the table. Horrible staff had an issue because I had them to validate my ticket after getting a cortisol shot in my neck. I was able to walk out and luckily make it back to my car where I had to have my son drive because I started to lose filling in my legs. They told my son that if he wanted validation he had to either have surgery or go to the Starbucks across the street. If this office fails to provide a small accommodation that so simple I'm forced to go to Starbucks because they are unable. Dr. Nazarian is The BEST ear doctor in LA (and in California/or probably in the U.S). He was the only doctor who found out what specifically was causing my hearing loss. I have seen 7 different ear doctors in the past 6years regarding my hearing loss and Dr. Nazarian was the one who was able to tell the problem and I decided to get the surgery done by him. It's been 4months since my left ear was done AND I'M LIVING A WHOLE NEW LIFE. This review speaks to the front desk only as I never got to meet the dr I was referred to. They scheduled me on days the doctor was not even in. This happened twice. I realized I had not received a confirmation call or email so I called the office. They said oh the dr is in surgery all day you should not have been given an appointment on that day. They had offered another day. I asked for that day. They said no he does not see patients on that day either. We then scheduled a few weeks ahead. I checked again the morning of. Same thing. I havent even been seen yet and the receptionists are already off putting. Quinn spoke to me as if i'm incompetent and refused to tell me how much my insurance covered. When i was finally seen, and the sweet dental assistant went to find out what was going to be covered today, Quinn bolted in all pissed off that she had to do her actual job. She proceeded to talk to me as if i was an idiot and as if she even relayed any information previously--when she didnt. She can argue to the staff otherwise but i wouldnt be taking the time to relay this is it wasnt true. "should cover" is not a definite answer. I wasted my time and my gas. I would have continued to get my xrays and exam had my experience not been tarnished by Quinns attitude, lack of knowledge and unprofessionalism. I went to the laryngologist specialist, Dr. Rafii, and he was able to tell me freakin everything after one look. I've been left in uncertainty for 5 years through the hospital I was going to before and then I went to this private specialist and he was able to tell me everything right away and I had surgery 2 months later. It just feels like there's finally clarity in the questions I've had about my throat after meeting the doctor and a peace that I'm gunna be taken care of with that dr... like he actually cares and doesn't rush me trying to get me out and onto the next patient. My 2 daughters had surgery same day at Miracle Mile. That made us very anxious. The place is beautiful and clean. Dr Farnad came and checked on us frequently and made the kids feel comfortable, explained the process to the kids, and reassured us parents. He is a true professional. Had a terrible experience. They can care less about their patients, no empathy or bedside manner what so ever. 2 complaints: staff & nurse experience: 0 stars ! I'll start w reception girl, she was passive aggressive and dismissive. I was there for Morpheus8, she had me pay upfront (no one has ever asked me for this). She didn't let me give her my ally info, she said it's not allowed. Then later after the nurse put numbing cream on my face I told her I needed the bathroom. There was one right next to the room I was in, but she told me I needed to go to the one farthest away past the building's reception and past all the elevators... not nice specially since I had all this gunk on my face! The nurse: I think she was a beginner bc OMG she made me stop her so many times bc of the amount of PAIN she was putting me through. I told her I couldn't deal w the pain, she literally put me in tears. It felt like she was running a sowing machine thru my face, needles in and out while pulling my skin excessively. I asked her if she had anything else for me bc I couldn't take the pain. She said nope, I asked if I could come back another time and finish, I basically asked her for help but she gave me no other option other than take it or loose it. I left this place in tears, no doctor or manager ever came to talk to me nor did I ask for one. I just wanted to run out of there, I couldn't stop crying. I felt tortured and I'm not one to be a cry baby. But geez, I was legit TORTURED by my own dime. NEVER COMING BACK HERE EVER AGAIN. read more

Sorry to say, I've never had a worse experience at a dental office. At first, I thought the office manager was simply incompetent. She didn't seem to understand how dental insurance worked. I have a supplemental insurance plan that fully covers fillings with no copay and pays 50% of the cost of crowns. She refused to acknowledge it, even after the my insurance company called her numerous times to confirm coverage. They told me she was "rude" and seemed " annoyed" with the phone calls. I even emailed her photocopies of the provisions in the Evidence of Insurance complete with applicable codes. Still, she refused to acknowledge coverage. At this point, I had to assume she went beyond incompetence into deliberate deception. Her name is Quinn, by the way. Only she spells it Quynh. (I know! Even her name is deceptive). Needless to say, I didn't go through with the procedure, and instead found a different dentist that actually honors insurance commitments. read more

Dr. Nazarian is by far probably one of the best, if not the best, ENT surgeon. I had a stapedectomy done with him Dec 2020 and everything went smoothly. He told me with his procedure I would not lose my sense of taste and in fact, I did not. He took fat from behind my ear and it was barely noticeable. His anesthesiologist gave just enough that I was asleep the entire time but it was very easy to wake up and I was fully functional the next day. I moved to San Diego and it seemed too difficult to go back to LA for surgery, follow up, etc. so I chose what seemed to be the best surgeon in the county- decades of experience, writes papers on the subject, very confident and had an excellent team. The surgery was a success but with the new doc I lost my sense of taste, the fat grafting is a huge bloody mess and it's been 36 hours and I still feel loopy. Oh how I wish I could go back in time and have Dr. Nazarian do both ears. I knew Dr. Nazarian was really good I just didn't understand how much better he is than probably all of the others. Again, I went to a top rated surgeon in SD but even after several decades his technique couldn't measure up to Dr. Nazarian. read more
