I am updating my review because Mirak Hyundai publicly responded to my original Yelp post asking me to email them so they could "make it right." I did exactly that and never received any response. To recap, my car was in for an engine recall. While I was unavailable, my father brought it in. The dealership claimed the rear calipers were frozen and needed replacement. What makes this unacceptable is that they also replaced my rear rotors and brake pads, which were only a couple of months old and in like-new condition. I had just paid good money for those parts. There was no valid reason for them to be replaced, yet I was charged for parts and labor anyway. After Monica Ramirez, Director of Business Development, responded on Yelp, I emailed the address provided and clearly explained that this was not just general dissatisfaction. I asked for a clear explanation of why nearly new brake components were replaced and what would be done to address the unnecessary charges. I made it clear I was looking for resolution, not just conversation. They never replied. To me, inviting a customer to reach out and then ignoring them is just as telling as the original issue. It reinforces the feeling that they were happy to say the right thing publicly but had no intention of actually resolving the problem privately. I recently purchased a new Hyundai Tucson Hybrid from Mirak Hyundai in Arlington. My salesperson was Michael Carias who was super nice. He is actually relatively new to Sales having worked in other areas of the dealership but was not pushy at all. In fact, everyone I met at Mirak was easy to work with including Jimmy (Sales Manager) and Stephen (Finance Manager). I actually wasn't planning on purchasing the vehicle right away, but I liked the Tucson after driving it and the negotiations went well that I felt comfortable with the final purchase. Mike even got me new floor liners which did not come with the vehicle. I highly recommend this dealership when looking at new or used vehicles from Chevrolet, Genesis, and Hyundai. read more

I had an 11 o clock appt for an oil change, in total took Mirak four hours to perform the oil change. No other service, no tire rotation, etc was performed. To be fair, they did tell me upon drop off it would be a few hours. But also I could visibly see my car sitting in the parking lot untouched for the first two hours. Went here because McGovern Hyundai appeared to be demolished. The building was a shell with trucks and construction equipment. Waste of time. No cars to view, parking lot was a small cluster bleep with NO parking at all. Walked inside to ask about 2 different vehicles and was told they were very busy and take a seat along with a disgruntled customer who was not being assisted. After 10 minutes I walked out. This place is TINY. Not many cars to view and what they had were all low grade cloth seats with a high sticker price. Not coming back. read more

Awful. So bad I had to do my first and only yelp. I knew going in the service would take a while and I planned accordingly since I lived far away and understood when they told me they were very busy that day. That was fine. I did ask an estimate of time it would take if they knew and they said possibly 4 hours but probably more. I wanted to make sure it wouldn't be near their closing time and they said it absolutely wouldn't. I dropped my car off at 8am and worked remote from nearby. After about 6 hours I got a notification that they ran an inspection on the car and recommended some additional services. I figured that meant that they also took care of what I came in for (a software update and an additional minor interior modification). I came back about 30 minutes later after approving a tire rotation only to be told that none of the original services had been done yet. I waited another 2+ hours and after receiving zero communication I went check on the car. After waiting at the desk for 10 minutes without being acknowledged I was asked for my credit card to pay for the service. Once that was charged I was told that they had just been notified that the part they needed for the service was not in stock and that the tech knew all day. This wasn't a random drop off, I made this appointment over a week ago, they knew what I was coming in for. The guy who I dealt with couldn't have been any less helpful all day providing no communication, was quick to blame anyone else, and offered zero apologies. 8+ hours of waiting only to be told that the part wasn't in stock and I can come back another day. Mirak Hyundai Service Center are one of the biggest pieces of garbage in the industry. They contacted all of their staff last night and informed them that they are not opening today Monday January 26, 2026. They didn't even bother to contact all of their customers that had appointments booked for the day. I had to wait over 3 weeks for this appointment and woke up at 5:30 this morning to shovel myself out of 18 inches of snow to make this 8am appointment. This is one of the most scum bag moves a company can make with total disregard and lack of respect for their customers. read more

We purchased our Hyundai at McGovern (formerly known as Mirak) in Arlington. When we bought the car we were sold an 84K mile "protection plan" that we were told would cover various issues as well as service visits. We learned that we had been lied to and that this package only covers oil changes. We never would have purchased this package had we known that. We now have to take the car to the dealer for every oil change and they use this opportunity to try to sell us things that we don't need (e.g., replace air filter for $175, which is something I can get done by our trusted auto shop for $30). I recently discovered that our radiator is leaking and needed to be replaced. We have had the car for three years and it has 68K miles. Radiators should last closer to 10 years. Of course, our warranty on this item expired at 60K miles. I had to take the car to McGovern for the oil change so I told them that the radiator was leaking and that I believed it should be covered by the 84K "protection plan" that we had purchased. The service advisor called and told me that they would have to do a diagnostic check on the radiator and that it would cost $210. I told him that I already knew that the radiator was leaking and wasn't sure why this was necessary. He said that if the radiator was covered by our "protection plan" then we wouldn't have to pay the diagnostic fee. Believing that the radiator replacement would be covered and I wouldn't have to pay the fee, I told him to go ahead. Later that day I received a text from Hyundai Service telling me that I needed a new radiator and would I approve the work. I called them and told whoever answered the phone that I already knew I needed a new radiator and that it should be covered under the 84K mile protection plan that they sold us when we bought the car. He said that he would call the Hyundai protection department and find out if the part was covered. After several hours of no communication I called the service department to find out if my car was done, only to be told that the service department was closed for the day. At this point they had my car for an entire day and now I learned that I wasn't going to get it back until sometime the next day. The man I spoke with also had no answer as to whether or not the radiator was covered under our plan. The next morning the service manager called me and told me that the radiator would not be covered under the "protection plan" that they sold us. So now, not only had they had my car for a day and a half, I had to pay for an Uber to pick it up because the ride that I had planned to get to the dealer the previous day was no longer available, but I was looking at a $1,200 radiator replacement. There was no way I was going to pay McGovern to fix my car so I took it to someone who I actually trust not to cheat me. Also, I had told them that the car was running rough on the highway and asked if they could test it out. I was told that they did drive it and it was fine. However, when I picked up the car I saw that only 2 miles had been put on it since I dropped it off. When I called out my service advisor on this he admitted that they didn't test drive the car b/c they were worried about the radiator (which is total BS, the car was fine to drive on the highway). To sum up... first, we were lied to when we bought the car and sold a "protection plan" that covers nothing that we were promised it would cover. Second the communication from the service dept while they had our car was horrendous. They insisted on charging us for a diagnostic test on a radiator that I already had told them was leaking. They didn't bother to call me before they closed for the night to tell me the status of my car or if the radiator was going to be covered under the plan that we had purchased. They kept my car for a day and a half to give it an oil change. I could have done that at Jiffy Lube in 30 min. The McGovern Hyundai service department is the worst I have even experienced. They lie and they are crooks. I regret buying our car from this dealer and I will never step foot in their service center again. read more

We financed a new Hyundai from MIRAK thinking it's always best to work with your local, brand new Tuscan in November. 7 months out, PERFECT condition with only 3200 mileage, had to sell back as I'm sadly moving to NYC for work and can't maintain a car. Shown the car to MIRAK I was offered to pay few K back and they'll take care of it, although big loss but I agreed. Ever since after few weeks, I'm being ghosted, not responding to my cal, not even helping when I went in person,!!! Have never heard of treating locals this way!! Terrible experience. read more

I'll be honest - my first experience with Mirak wasn't memorable, in fact it had been somewhat frustrating. However, this time around my Service Advisor was Nish and the help and guidance he provided was an absolute game changer. I didn't once feel like I was being pressured into unnecessary service or treated as though I don't know what's going on with my car. In fact, the issue with my Tucson was exactly what I had thought it was for months, and where other shops tried to tell me I didn't know what I was talking about, or that the parts needing service were entirely different, Nish was the opposite. He listened to me, was knowledgable about my car and the warranties and other services available and provided additional information to help make sure I got the right services with absolutely no fluff involved. While I can't speak for anyone else there, I can say that if you go to Mirak and you get Nish as your Advisor, you are in amazing hands. He's the real MVP for sure. read more

When sitting down to go over pricing, I pointed to an offer on their web site and the sales person talked with his manager and then told me it would be honored if everything was completed within the next few days. I agreed and came back later that day with my trade in ready to finalize, and someone who didn't properly introduce themself (but I think was a manager) said the offer that was live on their specific web site had expired 2 days ago and they wouldn't honor the pricing we had agreed on a few hours earlier. Bought the same car the next day for a fair price from a much more honest dealer, but given my awful experience here I wanted to suggest caution about this dealership. read more

Absolutely horrible experience not once, not twice, but THREE times. I had a coolant issue with my car that could not be resolved by two other dealerships (McGovern Wilmington and pride Lynn) so I brought my car to the Arlington dealership. They pressure tested my car and managed to find a leak and reassured me that it would be fixed properly. I picked up my vehicle and upon getting home, I popped the hood just to do a check myself and to my surprise there was no coolant in the reservoir. I called them the next morning and asked them to fix the issue and refill the reservoir to the correct level. What pisses me off is the fact they tried to convince me the issue is no big deal and that the reservoir was full upon leaving. There is not shot they "burped" the system properly upon me picking up my vehicle as there was little to no coolant in the reservoir tank. So I bring the car back a second time do the same process again, I get home and would you believe it there is still minimal coolant in the reservoir. At this point, I am outraged and just want the issue fixed. Luckily third times a charm and they managed to get the coolant level correct upon bring it back the third time. One other note, when reassembling the components, they managed to not install a rivet that is in dead plain sight upon popping the hood. the sheer lack of detail and lack of effort I don't understand how you can afford to have happen when your customer is going to be able to see the work that is done right in front of their eyes upon looking. The only saving grace out of all of this is that the car was under warranty. Otherwise, I would've gone somewhere else. Avoid this place. read more

THEY WILL SELL YOUR INFORMATION TO SCAMMERS. I went in for a recall on a part on my car. The agent repeatedly tried to upsell me on services I didn't need, was incredibly rude, and negged on my car to try and force me to complete "emergency" maintenance. Luckily, I'd been to a mechanic literally the week before, and knew that none of these issues were actually problems; it was all crap like my car "needing" new brake pads after using the previous set for less than 500 miles. I know that it was Mirak who sold my info to scammers because I wrote down my name differently, not trusting the fact that I was required to submit my email, home address, etc. in order to get one part fixed. Since then, I have gotten literally hundreds of emails addressed to the specific name that I wrote down that have my car's make, model, VIN, mileage, and my personal information. I've gotten phone calls claiming that my car is "overdue" on payments for insurance I haven't signed up for, all asking for the specific name I wrote down I receive two letters a week designed to look like they're from the state and I'm delinquent on registration, but which -- if you read the fine print -- are all instructing me to call an 800 number find out how to get out of delinquency. If you have no choice but to use the services of this reprehensible organization, put down a false name and phone number on the forms. God only knows how many shady organizations now have all of my personal details, all so that these people can make a few more dollars off selling me as their product. read more
